Hey Paul, just my 2 cents here...I am a former full time youtuber with almost 200k subs at one point - and I remember the days of trying to please the algorithm gods. Here's the thing...youtube will never be a reliable source of income. Trends come and go, the algorithm is fickle and mysterious, people get bored watching the same creators, etc. Looking at your current numbers, youre doing very well for a channel your size. Its unrealistic to expect 30-40k views consistently with only 40k subs. Sure, you might get that every now and then, but that should be the exception and not the rule. If you are getting 10% of your sub count on each video, youre doing GREAT. And you are currently exceeding that. IMHO, youtube should only be considered a hobby and whatever $ is made should just be an extra. When you put a video out, realize it no longer belongs to you. Have zero expectations as it now belongs to your audience and the algorithm and they will do with it what they want. Make content you enjoy making, dont rely on making money from it and use as a way to express yourself creatively. If the negative comments, declining views and the amount of work it takes to make the videos isnt worth it to you - thats fair and you could get another side hustle going instead. Ill make sure to click on more of your videos though!! Good luck in whatever you do. :)

Like many others, I want to tell you that you are great at what you do. Your personality is so sweet and you have a gift to make friends wherever you go. I have learned so much from you over the last couple of years. Thank you! If I may say one thing without offending you, I really appreciated when you pointed out the BOLOs. That is, the things that are unique and you find at low prices and sell for 5x the price. I don’t sell on EBAY because it scares me with all of its rules. I haven’t given Whatnot a try yet. I think for those of us who haven’t tried it believe it could never work for us because we don’t do the volume you do. I am sorry that you depend on TH-cam to pay your bills. I know they take soooo much work. Do your own thing because God made you Uniquely-Paul! And He doesn’t make mistakes!

I have tried watching some other resellers and sometimes don't even make it through the first video, just didn't click with them. Hey Paul. I am one of your viewers that isn’t watching your channel as much as I used to. I think you answered your own question. Once you transitioned to more of Whatnot, your EBay sellers (casual/Full time) probably dropped off. It seems to happen with anyone who alters their channel even a little bit. Having a 1 year old running around also limits the amount of TH-cam we watch and has really curtailed our picking and eBay selling. Do what works for you! -Gerry
I burned out on TH-cam and really dialled it back on my content. Too much negativity and became really pervasive as people got angrier and angrier. I stopped enjoying it. I was pretty honest about struggling through a divorce, sick parents, and some struggles I was having growing my business. People used that as a point of attack. I have learned not to take anything personally … but it definitely isn’t fun anymore. Just try and remember that 99% of the people are great and the 1% that are nasty are the loudest ones of all.
Have someone delete ALL the negative, judgemental , and hatred remarks immediately. Live life for you !! Mean people suck! Never change anything to try to please other people, especially strangers!! Don't remove negative comments as they are still interaction and will boost the algorithm. People who leave negative comments are opening themselves to criticism by others in your comment section which will in turn boost the algorithm once more. In my experience it's not a good idea to remove comments, just don't read them.
I found you about a year before you moved to Florida and have been watching you ever since. You have taught me a lot. I’m just a 70 yr old lady who part time resells to supplement my social security. I love following your life as a reseller love seeing your 2 dogs rejoice with you when you’re happy and cry for you when you are sad. You are so real. A lot of us really love that about you. I'm a "scumbag" reseller too. I love getting valuable stuff as cheaply as I can. I can't buy it and sell it, if someone doesn't know what they have and I do, that's their fault for not doing their due diligence. I can't imagine getting comments online about how I live. Apparently some people have no home training and no conscience. Do what makes you happy. BURNOUT: You could be sitting behind a desk 9-5 and get "burnout" (been there, done that). What we do then is an "attitude adjustment". Get tough with yourself, force yourself to be positive again. NEGATIVE KEYBOARD TROLLS: That's never going to stop. Laugh at them...maybe not in a post, but in your mind. They're NOTHING in the real scope of things. Ignore, or as I say "IGGY on them". Remember...you dwell on the comments that night, meanwhile they've moved on to troll someone else and they're not even thinking about you. PAYING THE RENT: Tweak your model. Hey Paul. I am one of your viewers that isn’t watching your channel as much as I used to. I think you answered your own question. Once you transitioned to more of Whatnot, your EBay sellers (casual/Full time) probably dropped off. It seems to happen with anyone who alters their channel even a little bit. Having a 1 year old running around also limits the amount of TH-cam we watch and has really curtailed our picking and eBay selling. Do what works for you!

I burned out on TH-cam and really dialled it back on my content. Too much negativity and became really pervasive as people got angrier and angrier. I stopped enjoying it. I was pretty honest about struggling through a divorce, sick parents, and some struggles I was having growing my business. People used that as a point of attack. I have learned not to take anything personally … but it definitely isn’t fun anymore. Just try and remember that 99% of the people are great and the 1% that are nasty are the loudest ones of all.

Apparently some people have no home training and no conscience. Do what makes you happy. BURNOUT: You could be sitting behind a desk 9-5 and get "burnout" (been there, done that). What we do then is an "attitude adjustment". Get tough with yourself, force yourself to be positive again.
NEGATIVE KEYBOARD TROLLS: That's never going to stop. Laugh at them...maybe not in a post, but in your mind. They're NOTHING in the real scope of things. Ignore, or as I say "IGGY on them". Remember...you dwell on the comments that night, meanwhile they've moved on to troll someone else and they're not even thinking about you.
