You are right!!! At the beginning this piece had no name or just the double drum solo, or something like that, then other pieces were added, they literally had to cut out the tape recording and reassembled it with adhesive tape, which gave it its name of Frankenstein ...
Edgar winter!!! played almost all the instruments!! and he sings also, these are musicians who have a blast!! This is, rock, funk, jazz, fusion, mixes to create this piece!!!! Edgar Winter was one of the first to carry his synthesizer with a strap to be able to move and play several instruments...Rick Derringer on guitar, Dan Hartman on bass, and Chuck Ruff on drums!!!!! What a jam!!! ,🔥🔥🔥👏👏🔥🔥🔥 Great reaction! Thank you!!!!!
If you want to be totally blown away by Edgar Winter's voice find a live video of him along with his Brother Johnny performing Tobacco Road. It is absolutely amazing, every bit as amazing as Frankenstein, just in a different way.
"The dude with the white hair" : Edgar Winter : immensely talented brother of Johnny Winter, the blues guitar legend; both albinos. This was his hit in the early '70's. Check out both of them on TH-cam "Tobacco Road". It's fantastic and you'll see that he can also sing. People have been doing Halloween reactions of this, but it was called Frankenstein because it was pieced together from a bunch of misc. ideas. To my knowledge, the keyboard was his idea. He wanted something portable that he could move around with. Good reaction and I'm glad you were able to see him.
Wow! That must have been fun, or at least memorable. I only saw Edgar with Johnny once somewhere in the early-mid 70's. Nothing unusual happened but I remembered being blown away from the loudness and the musicianship. It was a creative time, for sure. @@hollysmith9979
Wow!! This took me back 50 years! I was 20 when this came out. I still have my vinyl which I almost wore out. You should take a listen to the studio version, but only with headphones on. The sound at the end goes from one ear to the other. I swear it goes right thru your head!! The title of the album is "They Only Come Out At Night". It was and still is fire!!!
What do you do if you're an albino kid growing up in the hot sun of those Texas summers? If you're Edgar Winter you stay inside and learn to master about 7 instruments and become a massive rock star lol. At my request, my parent's took me to see these guys when I was about 11 yrs. old in like '75, with Rick Derringer's band, who is playing the guitar in this vid. Classic instrumental🔥
I used to listen to this song and took wooden spoons and hit everything with them playing drums, droved my family crazy!!! I love the drums!! 🥁🔥 and the SAX 🎷🔥.
Hard to believe this is 50 years old, ha? I'm glad you enjoyed the hell out of this I enjoyed watching you react to this because this will never grow old this is pure whatever it's supposed to be metal heavy metal I'm not sure but thanks for your reaction I enjoyed it.
Edgar Winter was playing the "Key'tar" (keyboard/guitar) Check out them doing "Tobacco Road" with Edgar & his brother Johnny. It's one of the greatest blues songs that displays Edgar's INCREDIBLE vocal abilities. And Johnny's AWESOME lead blues guitar, you'll be blown away. You should also check out Johnny's solo work too.
I didn't know this band but they are so good and talented, in the 70's there were excellent British rock bands , thanks for uploading this video Rory 🎸🎹👏🏻👍
@labird1994 Absolutely, there were so many great British bands but this was an American band, every bandmember. Btw..that's a beautiful kitty in your profile pic. I used to have one with the same coloring.💙
WOW!! Teenage years!! Edgar Winters is a Albino musician ( white hair and pink eyes) he also has a brother Johnny Winters also Albino. Awesome performance its rock and roll!! Awesome reaction Rory and thank you for the person in France, Happy Belated Halloween 🎃 awesome request!! 😊🩷🤟✌️LOVE THE THE SAX! Have you reacted to band Kansas? The singer does multiple instruments. I had this album. Almost Frank Zappa like. Awesome drummer, definitely 🔥
As others have said, this song is pieced together from different parts, hence the title. But I think the name suits it anyway. During that one particular hard break I always pictured Frankenstein's monster lurching along to the music. Perfect. You should listen to the studio version too which is what all of us growing up back then heard on the radio a billion times. We had so much great music, so many styles & innovations..it was great. And I agree with others, you should react to their live performance of "Tobacco Road". It's pretty mind-blowing too. 💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙
Edgar Winter white haired albino he and his brother by Edgar Winter was the artist this was supposed to be five different songs I understand from another commenter several reactions ago and he put them all together in a mishmash ended up just calling it Frankenstein this is his masterpiece.
The Winter Brothers Edgar and Johnny were too talented , Johnny is not in this video and he died a while back ..the bass player Dan Hartman and guitar player Rick Derringer have had great success in their solo careers as well ...
Frankenstein and your reaction made me really happy!
Johnny et Edgar Winter " Tobacco Road"!!!! try!!!🔥
Herbie Hancock used the same synthesizer ARP 2600, Frank Zappa( Ian Underwood) ,Bowie and many others!

That's a young Rick Derringer playing that chunky rhythm.
I used to listen to this song and took wooden spoons and hit everything with them playing drums, droved my family crazy!!! I love the drums!! 🥁🔥 and the SAX 🎷🔥.
This was originally called "2 Drummers"
Edgar asked the other guys to write o tune and constructed this Creature called "Frankenstein.
"Melted my head" is the perfect description of watching this performance. Does it to me every time.

This was supposedly four different songs that Edgar was working on compiled into one like Frankenstein did in creating his monster.
I was lucky enough to see them a few years back once at a fairgrounds then at a small venue Cantina Lavita it was amazing!!!🔥🔥
'He'd give Geddy Lee a run for his money!'🤣🤣.....brilliant Rory!
Fire!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Oh yeah - this one is epic - a must hear and watch for anybody who loves music. This one wasn't on my radar for you, but it shoulda been.

It reminds me of Zappa!

The LP version is pretty much the same but about half the length of this performance.
and ladies and gentlemen, Elric of Melnibone on keyboards
and sax apparently, wow!
A key-tar
11:47 Musicianship, but right on.
It's call a "Keytar".
Its called Frankenstein because it’s like 4 songs Edgar Winter had written…and he Frankenstiened them together.
Definitely a synth … not sure if it’s a Moog or not.. it’s a synth.
Show off
Not Halloween! Edgar and Jonnie are albino. I saw them in 1973 when I was 17
