I found The Lustau Edition in my corner, grocery bodega, although the owner of this store has a really good supplier because he has a very good collection of whiskey and liquor in general
I think I agree that the CS is better than Lustau, but it´s $24 more expensive where I live. My favorite is the 15, but that also costs $24 more than the Lustau so for me it’s either the 15 or the Lustau I will buy. And both are usually available here in Norway. Now they are about to release a 18 YO at 46% think I will try to get my hands on that. A bit expensive, but not really for an 18 😊
I love the cask strength, it is $98.79 here in PA, and is available in most larger liquor stores (PA is also state controlled). Right now it is on sale for $5 off. I have not had the Lustau yet but is is in stock in my local store for $76.99. I might give it a try.
We did the RB Mini's blind (12, Lustau, 15) and Lustau won. Always available at Christmas and month before St.Patricks day in WA or ID at under $80. I think we like it so much as it is a sweeter, easier drinker.
Just found this channel by watching whiskey vids, lol. So, I started with scotch several years ago, which somehow introduced me to Irish whiskey. I absolutely love Irish whiskey as some scotch can be too peaty for me. I bought this edition of RedBreast on New Year's eve, and I absolutely love it. I also purchased CS 12yo, and I opened the 15yo, which was a gift back in November. It's hard to get different expressions of RedBreast in Bama, but a short drive to a Total Wine in Florida will do the trick. I paid $80 for the Lustau and $100 for the CS. I don't like paying too much for whiskey, but I pay for what I like. So, if it was $95, I would probably still buy it as it caters to my palate. To me, it really is an enjoyable dram. OAN, I have Green and Yellow Spot, and the Yellow is absolutely perfect! It reminds me of honeysuckle, girl scout cookies, and apple pie growing up on the gulfcoast.
I always find it interesting to learn what's available and unavailable depending on where you live in the states. For me, I can find this easily and when it does disappear, it usually comes back around within a couple of months
Found a bottle of this for around $55 and Green Spot for $45 at Costco in SoCal. Just tried it for the first time an hour before seeing your video. I agree, but it is a definite buy it at that price.
In Oregon (state controlled liquor stores) this is $86. The 12 CS is $100. I bought both, the 12 CS because of the reputation, and because I tried the Lustau from a Redbreast sample set which contained the regular 12, the 15 and the Lustau, and I really liked it. I’m staying away from the 15. As good as it is, it’s $140 in Oregon, much more than I’m willing to pay for any whiskey.
The Lustau in SC has been pretty easy to find and have to admit the first bottle I bought went down very quickly… i actually prefer it from a freshly broken seal… when it opens up it gets something I cannot describe but throws it off for me a bit maybe it’s just me but a very good whiskey
Once I found the copper pot spice it extended into the finish and full filled the mouthfeel. Weird experience in that before the spice came through I thought it simple, thin, and w a short finish. After the spice it dialed those all up a few notches.
I have a Redbreast 12 for a Saint-Patrick toast tonight 🥃🥃 Are you sure about the Lustau being 12 years ? I wonder why they wouldn’t tell on the bottle 🤔
I'm trying the Lustau for the first time right now. Absolutely wonderful
Yay! Enjoy!

I like Midleton distilerry , Redbrest and Spot is my favorite ))) Happpy St.Patricks day ! Cheers !

This is $63 here in NorCal. This is one of my favorite along with the Amrut Fusion under $100.
Thank you! I love Vermuth, but my favorite is Lustau vermuth! You should try it if you can!
Is it dry or sweet?
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary Sweet with a dry ending
I purchased my Lustau a few years ago, and it was good. I recently purchased the PX, and I like this one more. Thank you for the video
Awesome! Love me some redbreast

Well, I'm glad you found the channel 😀
I find it on many stores in Kansas. It was actually the 1st RedBreast I got to try and I've always enjoyed it.

I had the privilege of sampling some Redbreast from the distillery when I visited Ireland. VERY NICE!
That sounds like a dream!

Bought a bottle at my local liquor store last week.

Available in NC, and I love it. ❤🥃
Great pour! Found it the other day at Costco, but to get 12 bucks off! Worked out too 58 each!
Hit and miss in all the stores that I frequently visit.
Adore the 12 and was soo looking forward to this. In the end found it underwhelming. Still very nice but it's back to the cheaper 12 for me.
Found this in Costco couple of months back for $49.99 in California. 😋
Costco for 40$ couldnt believe it
Great review. I would be great for you to do some reviews on South African whiskeys too.... Three Ships, Bains, and Boplaas.
I’d love to. I have no good way to get them up here :(

weirdly enough, in Ontario Canada, you will find it only for a few days in mid March. Then its gone.
Paid $65 for my bottle and it is worth it. Add a touch to the Redbreast 12 pour to brighten it up.
I live in Norway and it's about $80. The CS is $120. Might get the CS? Difficult to decide!
Haven't tried it yet, but in my area available at Total Wine. ($82.99 - North Central Florida)
Nice Bill ✨🥃✨
Never seen this less than $90, glad I passed on it but never pass3d on the cask strength
I can get them in DFW area 👍
I have a Redbreast 12 for a Saint-Patrick toast tonight 🥃🥃 Are you sure about the Lustau being 12 years ? I wonder why they wouldn’t tell on the bottle 🤔
I thought it was about 10 years old.
It's 9-12 years.
No age statement on the bottle. If it was 12 years old they would have said so.
I made a mistake and wasn't clear.
It's the same distillate, but not the same age. I absolutely screwed that point up. You're right
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary no problem Bill, thanks for taking the time to respond!
Hi Bill, what would be the good online source to purchase these in US? My local Total Wine or Specs are not that great... Thank you!
Have you checked Drizly? Often times they can let you know if there are any stores in your area that have them
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary its good point to start with
It costs CAN$10 (US$7) more than the standard 12 here.
"a cookie is just a cookie, but newtons are fruit & (sponge) cake"
Funny. I totally forgot about that but you’re right
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary i don’t have a collection. But I have food references for days
This one is always available near me, and I pass on it every time 😆 probably my least favorite release of theirs.
Its $90+ in Maryland, I can't see paying that price for anything Irish.
90 is a bit high for this for sure
@TheWhiskeyDictionary Yes, quite high. Prices in MD and PA have gotten outrageous. I adore Lustau sherry, though.
