- Tory mayoral candidate Susan Hall believes she was pickpocketed on the Tube. James O'Brien has a different explanation.
"I suppose there's a slim possibility that she had encountered the world's worst pickpocketer."
The Conservative Party's choice to replace Sadiq Khan as Mayor of London lost her Oyster Card on Monday. Later that day, a member of the public returned it to her. She tells Nick Ferrari she's the 'luckiest woman in the world' - but others in London are not so lucky, pointing towards crime rates in the city. James doesn't buy it.

He enticed a Tory London Mayoral candidate to expose her ignorance of the London Undergound, its famous Lost Property system, the ordinary public moral behaviour of Londoners and her stark unsuitability for candidacy. Khan is obviously entirely to blame. He stood by and watched her face-plant herself into history. He didn't even call an ambulance. He's just sitting at home now, having tea and listening to her broadcast on repeat. Been that way for hours.
What a shame that this lady turned a story of honesty and kindness into one of hate and fear. An unworthy leader for London.

I am back in London for a bit and had a few interactions mainly with workers in stores, Amazon deliveries, contractors doing stuff in the house. Everyone has been lovely. I know there are ar*es about but they are a minority.

As an ex Met officer I can tell you categorically that this would be recorded as no crime, because there is absolutely no evidence of a crime. Someone sat on her oyster card could quite easily be a case of them having simply sat on her card after it fell out of her pocket. Had someone stolen it they would have likely hidden it in their pocket or at the very least took the valuables from it and then dropped it wherever. This woman is an imbecile.

The takeaway actually is that the average tube passenger is kind, thoughtful and honest. More honest than the average Tory mayoral candidate anyway.

She loses her wallet through her own carelessness, a kind member of the public hands it in, but she still plays the victim card. I believe the expression is "thick as mince". So there was no robbery.
I think being charitable she originally thought she had been pickpocketed, told her staff who then decided to brief the media about the robbery and then she received the call saying it had been found and it was being returned to her. Unfortunately no one in her media team bothered to row back the story - and she ended up committed to doing this interview on Nick Ferrari's show where it became evident (to everyone but her) she almost certainly hadn't been pickpocketed!

As it is, hundreds, may be thousands , of blameless people have lost at least 10 minutes of their precious mortal lives reading about her non-adventures. The worst of it is, there’s no answer to the problem. Even I have wasted my time writing about it ! It has no educational value, nobody’s mind has been exercised - let alone changed. If I were , say, a severely depressed 14 year old , I’d be thinking that the end can’t come soon enough!

A couple of years ago I parked my car at Westfield in Stratford and went into town on the Central Line. I returned several hours later to find that my car had been stolen by a Sadiq's London criminal!
I was absolutely distraught!
But, I was the luckiest victim of crime that day, when I found that the criminal had carelessly parked my car in the identically positioned bay on the next floor up in the car park!
What a terrible, crime riddled city Khan has allowed London to become!
I once dropped my wallet and it was returned to me a few days later. A harrowing experience. I get chills to think that such horrific sociopaths return people's belongings. The person who handed it in is probably still out there today.

Happens all the time in London, people have a few too many sherry’s at lunchtime and then complain their car has been stolen only to discover that they have forgotten where they parked it, before drinking. Yet, the London mayor is also responsible for the crime wave sweeping the capital, even though it’s the Home Secretary responsible for funding the Police.

Even though she states we have more police in service than ever before. It’s seems she can’t hold an idea in her head more than a minute. Before she contradicts her previous statement. It was either a criminal who had a change of heart or suddenly had a conversion to renouncing his or her life of crime . I found this difficult to believe and it is more likely that she dropped it and someone handed it in , especially as nothing appeared to be missing .

Imagine not being able to think objectively. Maybe your initial thought might be you’ve been pickpocketed because it’s unlike you to lose your cards. But when everything is returned, any reasonable person would reconsider their perspective and not take the story to national radio.

I lived in London for thirty years, and was never a victim of any kind of crime. I moved to Pembrokeshire and in one year my family and I have become victims of hate crime, racism, antisocial behaviour, vandalism and have had no help from the authorities. Just apathy. This woman is making a mountain out of, well, absolutely nothing. If she wants to do something, maybe she should come here to West Wales and deal with actual crime.
