Wonderful historical coverage video about Nazism regime prison ( plotzensee ) .shared by an amazing ( history on TH-cam) introduced by Sir Alan 🙏. Thanks for sharing
The book “Germans Against Hitler 20 July 1944” 3rd edition by Zimmermann and Jacobsen, published by the Press and Information Office of the FGR, 1952, contains contemporary accounts of the 20 July plot itself, the investigation, the trials, and executions. Cameraman Erich Stoll gave a description of the filming of the trial and the executions. One of the cameramen, named Sasse, stated that the condemned men were all hanged using a “hemp loop” which was placed around their necks, were hoisted up, the noose placed on hooks, and then the man was dropped by the executioners. Nine cameramen took part in the filming. This was because they “disliked the assignment”. Stoll: “Future filming was refused as I could not expect my camera men to film any more of such cruelties”. A prison warden who witnessed the executions said the was a small table with a bottle of cognac and glasses so the witnesses could fortify themselves. Stoll also stated that only the most important of the trials were filmed and that film of trials and executions were also filmed by the firm of Heinrich Hoffman (Hitler’s official photographer).
I believe that the actual execution chamber was still intact until fairly recently. I'm sure most have seen pictures of it. It looked almost church like with three leaded glass windows. I saw a picture of one of the wifes of the executed men laying a reef in the chamber.
@Jmp64-ns8zl i just assumed that it probably wasn't there anymore because allan didn't show it in his video. But yes it would be shameful. I thought the area alan showed was where it used to be.
@@Jmp64-ns8zlI could see why the commenter would reach that conclusion. Without sufficient background information, it's possible from the video alone.
Hang on, I thought you wanted me to film a brick wall? What is wrong with this one? Too much concrete? Shall I go out and film another brick wall for you?
Thanks Alan, fascinating as usual. Those chimneys look a bit ominous!
I thought the same thing!
@@HistoryonTH-cam Great minds eh!
Best regards, Tony
Always interesting content. Thanks!
Thanks Dan!
Thank you again Alan, excellent as ever
Thanks Kevi.

I believe though that the "piano wire" often cited was in fact thin hemp rope
I am now certain piano wire was not used - this was filmed in July 2023.

I believe that the (death) chamber is actually intact, and has been memorialized. Why did you imply it has been destroyed? That would be shameful.

Wreath not reef.
It was destroyed in a bombing raid - only half of it was still standing at the end of the war.
Flossenburg I think was a similar type of institution .
Flossenburg was a concentration camp Richard.
Such an awful time to be alive in Germany 1930-40's
I went there twelve years ago and saw the execution chamber and the beam. They must have closed it off.
Lawrence, I am sure it is still there, I just filmed on the outside. I saw it too in the 1980s.
Wow that's some history 🎉🎉🎉
I visted this place in 1984.
That was around when I was there last.
Nothing new here, same old story we've heard 1000 times and boring vids of a brick wall.
Why don't you add a fresh perspective and make videos?

Very similar to what we are seeing in Israel, with over 10,000 political prisoners being held without trial or access to legal defence.
@@BIBIWCICC The Israelis have carried out a HOLOCAUST in Lebanon, brutally murdering thousands of innocent people, & reducing it to ruins.
Until the next time, PATRIOTS.
I have noticed that most who claim to be patriots, invariably turn out to be traitors.
