Glad to see you guys try out Altered! My friends have been playing a bit of it and even though I still have some reservations about uniques and balance between the factions' starter decks (and first set as a whole) it has been a fun time. The game is a little punishing towards doing anything besides playing good stats for the cost to both sides (playing from behind is brutally tough) but the core gameplay is very interactive and enjoyable.

Game seems fun but as someone who got burnt by Lightseekers, another obscure card game, I can see this fall the same way. I do enjoy the cute little adventure board game style but man the rarity card thing seems nice but hearing ben saying 1000 cards in the base set is insane.

I was wondering where that number came from, since it's definitely not that big. I think what happened is that cards from the Kickstarter Edition boxes and the normal retail boxes are listed as two separate sets on the online card database (even though they have the same mechanical cards), so there's a lot of doubling up. Which is probably what he saw when scrolling through cards. It is a *big* set, but I think that's okay with the launch set. Gotta give people enough variety to experiment with decks.
