Fun fact : before dropping his first album cole went radio after radio to talk about his album and hyped it and said he ll drop soon , but his record label delayed his album for one year And every fan was like Cole where the album at ? And Cole couldn’t do anything about it. Also in 2013 he went to breakfast club and Charlamane tried to ask him bad questions and tried to get a headline from it. Cole looked very mad at the interview but didn’t let his anger show. Charlamanie even said in the end : go cut your hair you look bad! And Cole said yea I ll go after the interview. 😂 and Cole never cut his hair after that interview
J Cole is becoming more anti Social than Kendrick... I remember when J Cole was all flexing and flashy wearing chains and big shades lol beautiful growth tho 💯💪🏾
he is becoming more social though in the past few months, last year was his most social year in YEARS, i featured on alot of songs but from like 2014-2017 he went quiet
I've been watching your videos for a while and I have to give you props for combining Philosophy and history with hip hop, it makes your videos much more interesting. Keep up the good job.
Started reading the book since you started the series, when I read the title I immediately thought of that Andy Warhol qoute from the book “ I learned you have more power when you shut up”
I just started to listen to J. Cole recently and man have I ever slept on his music. He’s incredible. He inspires me to not give up and continue to make my own raps. Great video! 👍🏻
I’m studying Coriolanus for my final college exam. The example of him being used in the 48 laws of power will actually help me a lot in the exam, so I have to thank you for this video. Love from the UK my guy, keep up the good work ❤️
I've followed J Cole's career from day one and I remember when Jay signed him, he did more interviews and freestyles then he put out songs. I remember every media outlet wanted to sit down with him and he did a shit ton of interviews and as a fan you could see he had enough interviews. He said way back then that, he was told "You have to play the game to change the game." He did that so now he can change the game.
You should continue this series bro, there's nothing like it out there, not only does it introduce you to a great book with sound theories, it gives you modern-day applications ( not too dissimilar to what it does in a book). This is amazing I'm going to watch the others
Yassine, you should start reading the Carnegie book: “How to win over friend and Influence people”. It shows ways of manipulation people use without getting noticed, and how much power they can have on that way. Many influencers use those tactics as well.
It's not about "manipulating" people as much as it is about changing the kind of person you are to attract people. I've read it years ago and it is very good.
helloyassine . I agree with you, but I believe that you can use those methods to manipulate . those are methods of manipulaton, Charles Manson mentioned in his book as well about how he got his ways from the book of Carnegie. It’s very interesting to read about the people who used his methods to manipulate, there is a entire reference page on who used it I think .
This was an amazing video! J Cole is a huge part of keeping rap alive. He’s always done something different. I try to do the same with my music. I read J Cole made it by doing shows and talking to people individually to spread his name for 7 years b4 his name caught. Artist=creative
This video hits much harder with the whole Noname situation now. Cole once having a low online presence really showed the vast difference between him now placing himself in a battle he had no business in
amazing video great editing and visuals this is a great improvement on your already great videos. U the best and most honest in your field and it doesn't go unnoticed.
Good analysis about J Cole. Rappers who spoke too much recently had to ultimately deal with some type of backlash. Kodak Black was a good example. But in the other hand, if you relate it to the reversal part of your analysis, he had to keep speaking up when Ti came after him. Or else, he would have looked weak.
I found your channel a couple of days ago. Bro. Thank you. I appreciate the work you put in your videos, it shows. You have done a very unique thing here. 💪💪
I really do love this series..... I want to be a rapper and I have been making music and planning on making music videos and I lowkey want to buy this book and learn from it lol
A bit late to the party but this all lines up perfectly since j cole follows an almost polar belief to the kanye's (from the previous episode). That's why they've got somewhat of a beef between each other. Bro this series is beautiful
"oysters open completely when the moon is full; and when the crab sees one it throws a piece of stone or seaweed into it and the oyster cannot close again so that it serves the crab for meat.Such is the fate of him who opens his mouth to much and thereby puts himself at the mercy of the listener. " Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1529)
Great vid & good points! However, I feel as though j.cole came along at the right time where hip-hop is incredibly saturated & hedonistic (mainstream). So, when someone with the ‘Everyday man’ approach comes along like j.cole, he’s elevated to a lofty status that seems a bit overstated at times
IMPORTANT! I need you guys to comment and let me know if you enjoyed this video. Do you want background music or not in the future? And any other feedback you have.
helloyassine i think the background music is good and less boring
helloyassine just don’t get copystriked
I dont like the background music its annoying & makes me focus on that compares to what youre saying
If the video is short add some music
If it's long please remove like the Rockfeller remove
No music please

J cole is the real definition of a humble rapper and I love that.
👆
There’s quite a lot of humble rappers out rn if you look further than the billboard 200, maybe even a shit ton
He literally made a song claiming he’s one of the best rappers. Not humble.
J Cole has studied the greatest and is destined to be one of the greatest.
Erick Espinoza he the greatest *right now*
He's a man of the people. Not above but equal
“I studied the greats I’m the greatest rn”
already is seems to grow every project!
@@manzinicholas8713 was about to say the very same 😅

FoshoTheOne J Cole became anti social first

FoshoTheOne j Cole is more present than Kendrick Lamar tho, Kendrick barely drops or does features

thank you Ricardo
I strongly agree
Started reading the book since you started the series, when I read the title I immediately thought of that Andy Warhol qoute from the book “ I learned you have more power when you shut up”
Nah this has to be the best series out now
J. Cole is a introvert, which I can relate to.
“Just a man of the people. Not above but Equal. And for the greater good, I walk amongst the evil”
I just started to listen to J. Cole recently and man have I ever slept on his music. He’s incredible. He inspires me to not give up and continue to make my own raps. Great video! 👍🏻
thanks Sawyer

Lil Wayne been the same way. It's super rare to see him in a normal interview. Most of them are old, before he hit GOAT status.
Fax💯💯💯. J.Cole is the next goat
lil Wayne has multiple interviews his not anti social none of them are old

Bro !! ... using entertainment figures to explain books, this is the next level of sharing knowledge.
Keep going !!
This is the most genius series for hip hop on TH-cam. Really enjoying this.
J Cole and Kendrick Lamar are probably my top 2 favorite at this modern age.
Please never stop this series. Eagerly waiting for episode 5
