this game really makes me appreciate the insane level of care and detail put into cuphead so much more.
But not the detail in this game? Lol
cuphead is like a beautiful painting. care put into every brush stroke and then this game is like that banana taped to the wall.

Honestly, if this game had a *bit* more budget and at least 4 or 3 more staff members, this game could have been great.

I like the ideas presented here, and the animation looks pretty good too, but I feel that a LOT of sound effects are missing, and the music perhaps could've been looped better. Now of course it's difficult to follow up a game like Cuphead when that game did just about everything nearly perfect, but it's still impressive that only two people managed to get this far with this game, so I hope they're doing well and take some time to polish their game up a bit.
I hope the devs continue working on this game, because it has a lot of potential. The current version of the game looks very unpolished and not so enjoyable. Though, to be fair, only two people worked on this game, and they had to work on a very tight budget after it failed to reach its Kickstarter goal.
And also, the bosses look too easy compared to the cuphead's one

To be FAIR there are thousands of games made by two or even one person that are actually good or at least functional. And there is noone to blame but the devs themselves that their kickstarter failed. Why do you people even make exuses like that. Devs of Enchanted portals made a shitty game and now everyone is laughing at them what is exacly what they deserve as a reward.

Wish this game has more frames added to the animations, it would look amazing then

All I can say is that the art style, boss fights and music were the good parts of this game. The rest falls flat from being too difficult, lack of checkpoints, has I think some bugs and glitches, lack of sound effects, difficult platform gameplay and other things that made gamers rage.

Like I can excuse the single frame cutscenes and shit cause the games art has already had so much time put into it
But the lack of sound effects makes it feel mad unfinished
Bosses concepts and ideas are cool though

feels like this entire game's budget and time went into the background and character art and none into sound design or... gameplay really
Honestly, watching gameplay of it now, It FEELS like an early PC game

Closest we have is Dragon's Lair 2, but that isn't as much a boss battle as it is running away from his cat.

This took like 3 years to come out and this is amazing
I appreciate in this game that they have at least something that stands out from being way too inspired by Cuphead: Water schmup, different rules of moving character, From ground to schmup... Not to mention things that would make Cuphead way too easy like health pickups.

The game is the same price as cuphead which is $20.
Indeed we are spoiled by games like Super Meat boy or Hotline Miami that were also made by two ppl mostly and that was like 10 year ago and both are like 1000 times better than this.

This game gives me vibes of old-school children's computer games than rubberhose cartoons. It is arguably the Yokai Watch to Cuphead's Pokemon (you get what I mean haha)

The thing about cuphead was there was so many little things going on around the boss, whether it's the stuff the boss is throwing at you or stuff flying around the stage that takes up the whole screen... This game feels like an old y8/miniclip game from 2008 that's very flat.
….man this game could of been least good if they just had sound effects, not only does this make the game feel lifeless, but it makes it look way harder then it needs to, to react to attacks, you need to go off purely from animations to tell when something is coming, but your ALREADY looking around all over the screen to dodge at whats already coming
