Imagine the story is you as an investigator in a team of 4 just like we are in the multiplayer except they are npcs that help you out. you visit every location in the game and you notice the declining mental health of your team mates as the game goes on. in the end the final map is sunny meadows, but your whole team is 0% sanity at this point. As soon as you walk in, the hunt begins and you are teleported to the ghost room and YOU begin to hunt the investigators, but as you walk past the other padded rooms, you see evidence of your team being the other patients in that wing due to prolonged exposure to the paranormal. last mission is to either save the investigators by avoiding them and providing more evidence or giving them minimal evidence while actively attempting to kill them. ...all I got.

Lore things to think about~ Room 8, the hall porter, is blacked out in the van's map (if you turn your brightness up you'll see it) and is also listed in the map in the lobby of SM but it's not in the actual drawing. You can noticed how there's 70 rooms in the list and only supposedly 69 rooms -- this room is also above padded cell #1 the "Cursed Possessions" are *possessions* and there are 6 of them, same amount as the sacrifices for the ritual. What if these cursed possessions are some of the valuables of the sacrificed people. They could also represent something related to the tools that are adjacent to them in the ritual circle: The voodoo doll & the hacksaw -- could mean that the owner of the doll, possibly a child, was hacked and sewn up and that's why the doll looks that way The music box -- could have been the prized possession of one of the sacrifices which is why s/he sings to it when it plays and why s/he knows it The tarot cards and the icepick/lobotomy tool -- could've been used on the patients, maybe specifically this sacrifice because s/he believed that s/he was psychic, which is why the tarot cards were important to that sacrifice. but the doctors tried to 'cure' him/her using lobotomy I dont have any theory on the ouija board so far, but it's weird that the ouija we find randomly has the "ghost huntin distribution inc" label on it *he Summoning Circle -- it says "SACRIFICE YOUR SANITY" in the runes, which we know in game means that you lose sanity per candle lit. But lore wise, this could mean that with each 'candle lit' aka person sacrificed, the person sacrificing them could be losing their sanity. It's possible that the 6th person is not actually a patient but a staff (maybe the doctor, the matron, or what if even the *hall porter* himself?) and this is why we see all five possessions outside the circle (representing the patients) and the summoning circle is the staff/summoner. which is why his symbol is the summoning circle itself! And if it is the hall porter himself, it could explain why the hall porter room is blackened out; maybe something is hidden there? maybe the demon formed or summoned by the 6 become 1 ritual is in there? Anyway, I hope this makes people think or maybe can even be used for your next lore vid
Interestingly Sunny Meadows was seemingly abandoned in a rush… Most of the "surgical" equipment in the morgue is still in place, as are the decaying corpses and human body parts.
