Agreed. Mercendes and Audi's ev are just too... too much for people who love the more normal and classic car styles. But I do hope they keep the option for a key fob.
Love love love volvo. I'm on my 2nd volvo and the electric one will be my 3rd one. Love that I can park it in my garage and not worry about carbon monoxide getting into the house.
Volvo never fails to amaze. I highly appreciate all the respective seniors of their concerned department coming out to talk about the features themselves rather than subordinating on their juniors. This car has the potential to rise up to the top of electric cars world.
I can’t wait to see it in real life. Especially the android interface. I do have the xc40 inscription. But this hasn’t the Android interface. And it is a Diesel engine, not an electric one. I love this thing. Greetings from one of the Volvo factory locations. (Ghent, Belgium)
Great video & update, although please edit your videos to censure a portion of the "Hey Google" command. David Holecek's segment activates viewers' Google devices each time he says the command, interrupting the video & making it difficult to watch. I decided against buying an ICE XC40 in the states earlier this year in favor of a Tesla Model Y for sustainability reasons, but I might cancel my Model Y order if the US release date is revealed before I take delivery in August. The XC40 is much more functional and the build/production quality will be superior in the near term until Tesla improves their production process. Another reason I didn't purchase the XC40 was because no dealerships had a model with the adaptive suspension to test drive.
Is there something wrong with me if I got emotional by the end of the video because I'm in love with this car? Also, I just LOVE the whole girl power going on.
My only annoyance with this great car is that the interior is only available in all black. Volvo are known for their beautiful light interiors and I wish I could have that in my XC40 Recharge
As availability and release dates differ in each country, we would suggest staying in contact with your local Volvo retailer who will have the most up to date information on when new models become available.

Amazing !!! Here in Quebec city (Canada) I’ve already made my 1000$ deposit to be sure to have one when available in Canada. Hopefully, the interior will comes in several color to select.
Great presentation! Even though I like Apple IOS much better than Google/Android. Nevertheless I will certainly adapt to it and Apple Car Play works fine. I‘m eagerly waiting for delivery of my new Volvo XC40 Pure Electric, hopefully in May this year!
We have opened a regional in-house battery centre in Gothenburg, Sweden. The purpose of the battery center is to extend the lifecycle of batteries used in its electrified cars as much as possible. It is also establishing similar regional battery centres in the US and China, as part of our ambition to be a fully circular business by 2040.
I was hoping the 19” wheels would just be a smaller version of the stylish 20” wheels. They don’t look as attractive, but I’ll reserve final judgment until I see them on the vehicle. My Model Y test drive is 2 days from now. I can’t wait to test drive the Recharge, too, though!
@@VolvoCars So still no details of if and when the XC-40 Plug-in Hybrid will be available in USA? My current lease is almost up, so I'm looking for options for another PHEV

Hi Kris, unfortunately it will not be possible to upgrade current systems to the Android OS system. However, we do appreciate your feedback and will certainly pass it on to the relevant teams.
It's not that hard to get, is it? I have it, costs a thousand bucks to buy and install. If you have the money for the car, a wall box isn't that big of a deal, is it?
@@Aktenverwalter Three phase? Really? You are very lucky then. Some five years or more ago, I was quoted £75,000 for a three phase supply, transformer and wiring to the main steading fuse box. Single phase 13 or even 15amp, no bother at all and your cost is near enough average.
For regular and considerably shorter charging times at home, we recommend you complement with a cable capable of up to 3.5 kW or 11 kW charging. These cables give charging times of approximately 18.5-5.5 hours (around 20-60 km range per hour) respectively. However, for the most efficient and integrated home charging solution, we recommend the Volvo Cars Wallbox. This powerful 11 kW, 32A installation will give you approximately 5.5 hours charging time (from empty to 80%) or 60 km range per hour.
@@VolvoCars Understood. 3.5kW home charger is no problem for most people and charges in about 18.5 hours from near empty to fully charged. 11kW charger does this in 5.5 hours. However it surely requires a heavy duty three phase electricity supply. This is mainly reserved for industrial premises, certainly in the UK, and the cost of supplying 3 Phase to a house depends very much on location relative to the nearest suitable power line. It will not be a viable solution for the vast majority of owners of these cars who will inevitably be stuck, at home, with a 3.5kW charging system that takes 18 hours to fill an exhausted battery. the only Nonsense comes from Volvo's Inefficient ICEV body.
Aerodynamics is not nonsense.
