If you’ve ever played dark souls it says on the back of the case “you will die” this game should say “you will get stuck” and on top of that expect “ oh just get wood from there to here easy 5 minute job be in bed after this.”(3am one truck on its side another stuck another out of fuel and you saying to your mrs “just need to finish this mission won’t take long” and in your head your saying I will not use recovery as this is a sim and real life )
I'm beginning to get tired of little bullshit making me waste hours. First the construction heavy trailer, spent like 3 hours because the damn thing would get stuck on thin air. Now this truck, stuck in unexplainable things... I mean I love the game, but ffs...
I used the Royal BM17 to get the Western Star up that hill at 4:05. Once you get up there you'll see a "rocky" area like a ditch then you'll have hit an immediate right to find an unmapped trail that leads to the main road.
Same here. BM17 with service module and towing the Chevy down there. Use all repair points, send the Chevy home and then just drag the truck up the hill and home. Key is getting the engine running i suppose. Did this first try in about half an hour.
I brought a maintenance trailer to it to repair it, fuel it up some to start engine, then it pulled with ease. But I’ve left the trailer down there and haven’t recovered it, too bad we can’t easily “recover” trailers like we can trucks to the garage quickly.
I got down there with the scout 800 & hummer. repaired and refueled it with all the repair & fuel points. after it started it followed me up the mountain with the hummer no problem at all
I completed Michigan 100% before moving on to Alaska. I had a semi stock Fleetstar, and I pulled this beast all the way up and out, same as he did, without all the hiccups. It was tough but I did it first try with 1 refuel. Took alot of work going around those rocks.
@@Foxy_Lightning Just got the offroad gearbox, and AWD... barely got the gearbox.. 5 litres of gas after crossing 2 maps on 120L of gas... the differential is a whole other map and theres no refuel depots... dragging a tanker there for it seems... like a later date job.
Just a helpful hint. If u use a crane truck with storage slots, you can load things on top of the packed cargo take it where needed unload the unpacked items turn in packed items then pack the loose cargo and turn in. Sounds like alot of work but save a whole trip most of the time.
I got stuck on the two rocks you have to squeeze between pulling it out with the fleetstar there's another path that's less curvy and vertical to the right or north or closer to the garage
You need to learn the catapiler method of pinching where you pull the thing you are saving to you then winch to a tree and pull yourself there then pull the truck you are saving, that is how I pulled a oil tanker out of a swamp with a int. scout
Got this game and it's addictive.ive got the internationals,GMC 9500,Chevy ck1500,.I've added diff locks and AWD on the Chevy ck1500 and it sometimes pulls the GMC 9500.
Same... took so long going the route he took. Kept letting stuck on the boulders. Tried using the cranes...nope. ended up yanking the Star up the right side instead of the left.
I pulled mine up from the watchtower below the garage until I got to the tower then took the main road back, stupid rocks and trees getting caught on the edges of the truck was the main problem.
What I did was get the International Fleetstar while using taking those barrers of spilled oil, when it gets stuck on the first curve I use a crane that was mounted with the Fleetstar, then on the 2 curve nail out and use the Pacific P16
I was thinking about doing this because I am at Level 9 and I tried pulling it like TC did with a PayStar and I just don't have the tires yet. My Paystar has All-Terrain tires and it does not have enough grip to do the job. Also, the White is a heavy, so I would think that you need a same class truck or larger to pull it away anyways.
It took me forever to get this truck. I ran out of fuel multiple times. I tried doing it with my paystar with extended winch. I went the wrong way and when I realized I said heck with it and pulled it all the way down the coast line to where the dirt road just about meets the coast line.
I flipped my paystar like 5 times on this hill trying to save that truck ended up dragging it up that hill using the hummer took me forever to say I was annoyed is an understatement
Hey TomCat, remember you did cockveiw mission driving Hummer H2 and you said your time were 6 minutes and 32 seconds, right? Well I did mine driving Hummer H2 stock engine, no raise, my time was 6 minutes and 19 seconds. And one more thing, did you notice moose crossing side on side of roads or trails? Its supposed to be upgrade part, I haven't check it out yet, but I will. I see a tips about that on Snowrunner ps4. Have a good one!
I’ve played the game a lot the western star is probably my favourite truck it’s extremely stable never flips over so much power and it never seems to get stuck it just claws it’s way and I don’t even have the diff locks unlocked yet just all wheel drive
man. I remember this. I managed to pull it halfway up then went and grabbed the Pacific p12 and dropped a crane on it. it was still tricky af with that and I sent it straight up that hill you tried.
It was an absolute b word to rescue for me. Had to do it twice. Once for me and once for a friend's game. Pacific P16 was what I used and it was still crappy. That hill is just so annoying to work on
My bro and I spent an hour trying to get it past those rocks. Many failed uses of cranes. Ended up using a Tatra T813 with a twin motor winch to just brute force it.
Brett that's the lifted suspension the diff lock is up by the warehouse in the north west corner if you look at the map its a little stream thats running down from the mountain its on the left where the stream goes from one to splitting off to two directions.
How did you bring that army truck to smithville dam or move any trucks between states? ...and what about the other truck that you have to fix up...does it just stay there or can you bring it back and use it?...
it took me 4 different tries in different directions...Khan Marshall only got that truck so far before I switched to Navistar 5000-MV and had to refuel about 4 times
I literally did this just last night in my Navistar I used the crane to pull it up the hill, with some trial an error. Got stuck by the tree so I had to move it around lol took overall an hour or so
Its easier to tow when the vehicle you're towing is repaired and refueled. That way the towed vehicle isn't dragged out, the engine starts and the vehicle follows behind
I got the Western Star stuck on the rocks where you flipped over, couldn’t get it unstuck. I tried to restart the mission but it’s now locked out and won’t allow me to try it again so I can’t get this truck....
I had so much trouble getting it up the woods trails! I took a break and I’m gonna try and get it tomorrow! I’m gonna restart the mission. You succeed on that revine! LUCKY! Which part of this was EASY?
I got down there with the scout 800 & hummer. repaired and refueled it with all the repair & fuel points. after it started it followed me up the mountain with the hummer no problem at all
Tip: if you winch to the back of the truck to pull, it stays more centered due to both trucks having central mount positions.

I did that rescue with the fleetstar. Sometimes it was kind of tricky, but it worked out in the end.

really, im about to try it, lol..

This is the hardest way to get that truck. Go to the right before the rocks and pull it up the hill.

High gear is great for going up steep hills and in mud that isn't too deep. It's also better too if you're pulling alot of weight.
Recovering the WWS has taken me forever. Thankyou maybe this will help
I never got something more stuck than I got that truck. It still rests wedged between two trees half way up a hill.
You could always reset that mission by going back to the mission giver.

a long winch cable makes the pulling a little easier as you have more weight on the front axle of the pull vehicle

If you fully repair it is there a way to fill it up and change trucks instead of dragging or do you have to drag it
Even if you fill it up and completely repair it, you still can’t drive it yourself or “recover” it.
5:20 .....told you to go straight up the hill and not tried to squeeze through the rocks lol
There is a gmc up in the corner that you repair but can’t unlock. It really bothers me it’s just there.
fixed now, it'll despawn once you finish the task for it. it's a really odd task though, just repairing it for it to disappear
Had the same issue had to back track and got the repair bed and used the pacific p12 and a lot of winching was a damn process lol.
of course its easy in easy mode, try the hard mode, you only have the chevy or the fleetstar or scout 800, what do you do then?

I tried using the paystar to recover the WS, no chance haha. Got the pacific p16 there and hauled it over the damn rocks
i actually did this mission with my fully lifted CK pickup to time with the winch aswell but she did it
So is it easier in the game to tow a vehicle with it right behind you? Or does it affect it when you have the winch further out to tow.
If the winch is further out, there's a better chance of what your towing to get stuck on trees, signs, telephone poles, etc
Its easier to tow when the vehicle you're towing is repaired and refueled. That way the towed vehicle isn't dragged out, the engine starts and the vehicle follows behind
