    It's time Thomas to elevate your work to the next level. Like it or not, as a pro landscape photographer you ultimately have to some day move to medium format. You have the drive and youth on your side. You have the knowledge and the dogged determination to succeed, and incredible locations to explore, but your efforts are not maximized by using tools with short-comings in image fidelity. I love you man and I want nothing but the best for you and I believe anything short of perfection in your eyes is unacceptable. The soon to be released Fujifilm GFX 100 megapixel is a tool worth considering. Why am I so passionate? Because I would like someday to walk into a world acclaimed gallery and see your breathtaking photographs at a level that truly surpass the so-called "fine prints" of others in your field. Greg

    Nice work. I go to Switzerland every summer. Best time of year is July, you get the right balance of green grass down to low altitudes, mountain streams full, snow and sunshine. Best place for photography I found is the ridge above Murren looking across to the Eiger and the Lauterbrunnen wall. Sunsets are better than sunrises as the UV haze at that altitude destroys photos like nothing on earth. The Blumenthal meadows are covered in alpine flowers right to the 3rd week of August. Good hunting and thanks for the inspiring videos

  • @nostunas
    @nostunas 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't know what it is, but lately (prob this whole summer actually) I've had a lot of problems with black and white landscapes. I don't know what is it, guess I've been so interested in color, but I feel like black and white robs the image of something very significant and beautiful. Especially on sunsets/sunrises. So I'm very interested as to why Thomas decided to convert to bnw, since I thought the lightning and color were minimalistic and beautiful. Of course, it's your decision, Thomas and I wouldn't argue about it, but I'd just like to know more about your thought process on this particular image, since I really think it'd work so much better without the bnw conversion.
    Thanks for the inspiration, as usual!

      Hi Tom, I agree. Although there were some nice contrast in the B&W image, I thought there was enough hints of orange and pink on the small cloud to have a colour image too. Nothing wrong with the B&W image, in my opinion the colour image could be something special too (even with the potential of some dead sky areas). As you mentioned in your video, the cloud makes to shot 🙂

    I'm quite interested into why in these workshops or videos everyone always has their camera set up for the same composition, pointing in the same direction, 5 to 8 people too. Is it part of the workshop? No different compositions with a variety of angles for people? Or just lack of compositions and one really good one? I've never done one of these before so I wouldn't know, but anyway great video!
