i live in mi abt 24 minutes away from the campus and i do tours basically all the time bc I love this school and program so much i’m a sophomore in high school right now my freshman year didn’t go to well grades wise but hopefully i can raise my stats bc this school is a dream

The class of 2019 is so talented! I watched the Senior Entrance for the class of 2018 at the start of last school year and this reminds me how much time has flown. It's crazy to think the seniors I watched perform last September have graduated and are now out pursuing their careers! Still, these Senior Entrances always get me pumped up for college in three years.
I'm here after getting rejected by Michigan. That's how much I love this.

Hi, I commented on last years senior entrance about having the dream to get into UMich but having no dance experience. I have since signed up for dance classes and I intend to continue on with my lessons for a least a couple more months until I feel comfortable to apply for MT.
I’ll be 20 by then and I’m not sure if that’s a factor that could hold me back. Everyone seems to go straight into UMich after high school but will the time I’ve taken off affect anything or my chances??
Hey there! Obviously the more experience you have the better, but not having much of a dance background will certainly not prevent you from getting into the program. We have plenty of students (myself included) who have come in with a limited dance background. In terms of being older, we have students almost every year who have taken a gap year or two, so that also is not an issue. What's most important is that you show the department who you are as an individual. Hope this helps and good luck on auditions!

Preston Everett I’m not sure if you’re asking me...but no I’m a freshman! But the family here is so close together! As of our last senior class, we have a girl touring with DEH, a girl staring in Be More Chill, a producer who is running things at 54 below and other venues, and TONS of other accomplishments! It was definitely a more comfortable audition and family feel than all my other schools and by the end of the auction process it was an easy, obvious decision!
