For the record, the article "a" is used when followed by a noun with a consonant SOUND, not a consonant (i.e. a eulogy, a eucalyptus tree), while "an" precedes a noun with a vowel SOUND, not necessarily a vowel (i.e. "I have an MA" or "The bus was an hour late.")
While we didn't want to overly complicate the beginner-level video, we acknowledged that and pointed out some common exceptions in this short: th-cam.com/users/shortslC9UsaCV-20?feature=share

So ez thank u bro I am learning english. This was .a. cool video.
So glad to hear you found this video useful 😊
I love this channel and use it often for my students. I do wish that for the word "a", the schwa sound had been used consistently for my beginner students.
Thanks for the feedback. We used to use a professional studio to record our older video content, and the voice actors were not English teachers. Now we use in-house talent who are all former English teachers, so they would've caught that. Apologies to your students for any confusion! We're glad to hear you usually enjoy our videos.
What’s the schwa sound?
@@Phymacss Any unstressed vowel sound (when speaking quickly) is called a schwa. It's represented by this symbol in the International Phonetic Alphabet: /ə/. We will post our pronunciation video on the schwa sound early this year in this playlist: th-cam.com/play/PL0MvnNQjMzmaj3OyBD766o70tB5OsiwHp.html

Thank you for the video😊 I have no idea about a sentence in role-playing games.
Examples:
A: Restores your HP after battle.
B: Restores your HP after a battle.
C: Restores your HP after the battle.
What's the difference between A, B and C?
Choice A is technically incorrect, but some people drop the article when space is limited since the meaning is still clear (e.g., in news headlines). Choice B means there are two or more battles in the game. Choice C means there is only one battle in the game. Since RPGs usually have many battles and the item usually restores your health points after any of those battles, B would be the best choice.
@@elliiI appreciate your detailed explanations! I now understand more about articles!
1:46 or also when it sounds like a vowel! For example, “an hour”. “H” is not a vowel but in this word it sounds like the vowel “a”!
You got it! We didn't want to mention too many exceptions to the general rule in this beginner-level video, but we made a Short that explains some of these exceptions: th-cam.com/users/shortslC9UsaCV-20?si=4HXuN5_LvQCq7RH0

sir, I want to ask why uniform they use A uniform? I thought the first word is U we should use an instead of a because it's a vowel. even the sound as U
Great question! Some words that start with the letter U are pronounced with a consonant sound and not a vowel sound. The first syllable in "uniform" has the "y" sound (the same sound as in the word "you") and not a vowel sound. So we say "a uniform" but "an umbrella" ("umbrella" doesn't start with the "y" sound). See more examples in our short: th-cam.com/users/shortslC9UsaCV-20?si=YbQ9pTRSQ7kmM9D4
Yumbrella😂
it's a very great video
Thank you very much!
Bro thanks its helpfully
Happy to help!
you use an when the noun has a vowel sound and a when the noun has a consonant sound
You got it, Manuela! Sounds like you wouldn't be confused by "an hour" or "a university." 💪
Thank you

7 continents are North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Antarctica, and Oceania.
You need to say "The 7 continents" in this sentence. Otherwise it's great!
I appreciate it, man❤
It can be sir also... don't change the gender of it 😂
But explained nicely
So good
Thanks!
Keep going
Thanks!
خیلی مفید بود
We're glad it was useful!
Great video, but tbh I have no idea why does something like articles even exists.
It's a good question, isn't it? They help define the noun, but every language varies. Some languages have no articles, and some have even more than English (masculin and feminine articles too)!
Good❤❤
Thanks ❤️
E.g: I feel pain an my fot
I write well?
Good sentence! Here are a couple of corrections: I feel pain in my foot.
Good as heaven
Thank so much!
Super
Thanks!
The bank is opened( Passive Voice).
Great example of an article! "The bank" is correct. But "is opened" is incorrect. We don't usually use the passive voice for a building or business when it opens or closes. For that, the active voice is best. E.g., The bank opens at 9. The bank closes at 5. For a less common verb like "unlocked," you could use the passive voice. E.g., The bank doors are unlocked (by someone) at 8:50 am. Hope that helps!
👍
Nice
Thanks!
I have exam today 😂😂
Best of luck!
