Bought a ranger almost 2 years ago, suits so much of my riding in central NC, got rid of 2 bikes in it's place. Aside from chasing down some known creaking issues and getting that fixed, it's been flawless ever since.
@@blakebeyett6471 pivot #4 on the original couple of runs of the frame is the weak point, they'll upgrade the hardware for free. Also notorious for not having enough grease and redoing that solves the issues.
@@FoCoFlowShow De la coal and I just went with the GX build. My gem bike is a Pivot Switchblade Xtr/xt build. I will say these are my 2 favorite brands.
Got mine during the 20% sale ss well so upgraded to hydra’s and revel rw 27s. This bike is so much fun to ride. I live outside of Atlanta and is fully capable on basically every type of terrain. May pick up the Rail for extra chunk/bike parks.
Been binging your channel. We seem like similar riders and I like seeing what you guys got going on down there. I'm gonna have to make a trip to NC this spring and check out the bike parks ... If you ever get the chance you should head up north this summer. You could hit any combination of Mountain Creek, Thunder, Killington or Highland (Creek is great for more advanced riders, the other 3 are great for anyone). If I'm spending multiple days at a park, I prefer Killington cause they have a ton of trails, Airbnbs and dining options right near the mountain. Thunder and Highland are great too, but you'll get longer lines at Highland, and the lift at Thunder is painfully slow. Especially on a hot day, that lift could be brutal. Have you checked out Rock Creek Bike Park yet? Place looks pretty sick and unlike Kanuga they run a shuttle which is pretty cool. Edit #2 (sorry, I'm off work today): get a Chris King bottom bracket. Expensive, but on a bike you'll be doing a lot of pedaling on, it's one of the best upgrades you can make. You'll love it, especially when combined with high engagement hubs ... Ok I'm done, back to binging!
I Upgrayedded from '99 Superlite to Ranger XX1 AXS this past summer here in Anchorage, AK!!!! Agree 110% with your review. I hated climbing before this sweet AF ride, but now I enjoy going up the steep terrain more than I ever imagined possible. The only ppl that beat me on climbs are those on electric assist! Hahaha.
@@FoCoFlowShow Just did my 2nd day of DH at Alyeska Resort two days ago. This is the first time I wore full face helmet and body armor. I could let 'er RIP! It feels bottomless in terms of front and rear suspension!

@@FoCoFlowShow thats gonna be great too..my buddy just put on nobl wheels with hydras (enduro bike)...sound is amazing..not sure if engagement makes a difference above 54T....looking forward to your review.

Awesome to hear! I’m riding my ranger more than my ripmo so far and sold my hardtail … I’m still glad I have the ripmo for big mountain rides
Where are the known creaking issues?

Ranger is a killer bike. I just added one to my collection. Great video
Thanks… what color/build did you go with???

@@michael-ql1lf nice! A reviewed the switchblade on the channel last year - it’s an AWESOME bike too
Living the Triangle area of NC, I went with a Spot Rocker to compliment my ripmo since most of the stuff here is XC.
Definitely a good compliment - I started riding in raleigh and a short travel trail bike is perfect for most of the trail there

Couldn't agree more!
I'm assuming you got it from Sixes. How much did it end up weighing?
@@chasingsummer161 got the bike from Evo.com - weighs just under 26lbs with carbon wheels
@@chasingsummer161 I Did! My favorite shop just really far from me. Mine was bit heavier at right around 28
If it can do the left turn after the berm in your opening then it is one hell of a capable bike.
Hahah - the INFAMOUS left hand then 😆😆😆
Nice vid dude! I’ve been thinking of a DC bike for more pedaling and some novice XC racing
Is the Ranger sub 30lbs ?
Yep - mine is around 28lbs

Thanks for watching! I have mountain creek on my list as well as rock creek. I’d love to hit the others but not sure I’ll make it this year
Interesting. May I ask why not a ripley over the ranger? Im torn between the two
Both are incredible bikes - I really wanted shorter travel and a true down country bike.
The standard carbon Stumpjumper 130/140?
Great bike but more of a trail bike compared to this
rode the new stumpy...great bike....add light carbon wheels and its a one bike for all...especially on the high setting.
