    There popular in Europe also here in Canada because they are great on clad. Plus they are awesome machine's period! My first Tesoro was the Compadre and I fell in love with it right away. Moved up to the Cibola and its a great machine.

    I still have it and use it regularly. I had two of them and decided to sell one. Great detector.

    I have a new/ old one I won at a competition hunt 14 or 15 years ago. In my closet and used only a couple times. After this video I’m itching to go try it out with your settings! :)

    Findmall forum - under Tesoro. The nice thing about Tesor is each of their detectors offer something unique. So it's not like spending $150 more and getting the same unit you alraedy have, with a better display or coil. Tesoro detectors work, and they're a heck of a lot of fun!

    Awesome video and how to. Would have love to hear the tab tones mixed in with the video.

    I decided to go with the compadre. when i ordered the Umax the place i ordered it from took forever and didnt respond back to me so i cancelled my order and went with the compadre. I am convinced that any Tesoro brand you decide to go with will be an excellent machine!.

    All land Tesoros have a built in speaker plus a headphone jack. Their Water detectors, Sand and Tiger Sharks have attached headphones. The Outlaw is an awesome detector. I used mine probably 95% of the time this summer.

    It's a great hobby. Just stay grounded in your ability, technique and know that your don’t need to spend thousands to find a silver dime at 6 inches down. Have a great New Year!

    Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. They’re very good detectors and at a price pretty much anyone can afford.

    LOL no no pressure...Thanks for the quick response.Its funny that you named those 3 detectors because those are the final 3 that i narrowed it down to. My main focus is jewelry. I own the Ctx 3030 for coin shooting. Seems like the Vaquero and outlaw have some nice bells and whistles but straight forward i just need something good to determine trash or treasure through audio for jewelry. Which one do you think will give an ID with the best audio feature?

  • @mjcz5853
    @mjcz5853  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Talk about pressure! :) There are a couple that I would recommend for parks / Rec areas, the Golden for sure and the DeLeon would be the other. Both offer target ID and are more then deep enough for these locations. The more familiar you get with the Golden, using the notch and / or disc, the easier it becomes ID’ing targets.I would start off with either one of these then move to a Vaquero, Outlaw later. They're all excellent!

  • @mjcz5853
    @mjcz5853  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Mike - I'd go with the Golden if you're hunting primarily parks or Recreation areas. The 4 tones will narrow down where within the disc range your target is. The "V" and Outlaw are great but those 4 tones are a great help ID'ing and can save you time as well.

  • @mjcz5853
    @mjcz5853  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Excellent detector for parks! Not as deep as some of my others but hits coins to 5 inches so more then good enough for the parks and rec areas here in Central NJ.

    You make some awesome videos my friend... i am thinking of getting one of the tesoro brand detectors.But i am inbetween which one to get. In your opinion, which one of them do you think will excel the best for hunting for jewelry in parks,sports fields,and tot lots.Your answer will pretty much be the deciding factor for which machine i will buy.lol

  • @mjcz5853
    @mjcz5853  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes on the double tone when you are within 2" of a target. Thats nice because you can easily determine a shallow taget. The tone itself however doesn't change, just the number of beeps, at least thats what I found.

    @mjcz5853  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm working on a video for Outlaw and the 10x12. Been tough with the heat and my schedule though. I should have it done by the end of the week. Weather permitting.

  • @mjcz5853
    @mjcz5853  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I haven't tried the 10x12 coil yet. Remember the detector is set to the 8 inch coil so I would think you might have a slight change in the Notch Width and even the disc. As far as depth it should be comparable.

    What a nice machine. Would luv to get my hands on one! Hard to find here in Canada especially that model...

    @etrac007 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    for now i have the older toned golden. getting the newer toned one this week. when there is a shallow target do you get multiple beeps then raise the coil to get the right tone?i hope you know what i mean! great video again wtg!

  • @sparkyarch77
    @sparkyarch77 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah im not looking for a digital ID read out. Im a little bit hard of hearing but i can usually tell the difference between static on a junk target and a smooth round signal. I think just an audio only detector for hunting for jewelry would be a blast. I just need to know which one out of the golden,Vaquero or outlaw has the best clarity. Level with me Mike, Mike to a Mike..lol If you could only have one of those 3 for jewelry hunting which one would you pick and why?

  • @mjcz5853
    @mjcz5853  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's a detector everyone should own. I have the 5.75" and I'll be ordering the 8" soon.

    Can you do the same thing with the golden that has the old tones? Just curious to know.
    Love your videos!!!

  • @mjcz5853
    @mjcz5853  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Golden will give you a range your target is in, basically 1 - 4, iron, gold/nickles, silver/zinc and silver, where the DeLeon will give you a range of numbers associated with a target, I think 1 - 99. Basically the DeLeon has a better target resolution. But in the end you need to dig pretty much everything so I only use these ID's as a guide.

  • @hotwheel6663

    What about round pull tabs or beaver tails and 'small' foil? You don't show neither of those junk items?

  • @sparkyarch77
    @sparkyarch77 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I went with the 8" coil Mike and i love this thing! As you know i was looking for a good jewelry detector and this is just it. Since i bought the Compadre i have been finding small jewelry items so far. A couple small junk rings but this thing hits super hard on tiny necklace charms! When you run your coil over it, you will not miss it. I bought my co-worker a Compadre too..lol. The 8" does a really nice job separating and discriminating out the trash but i can bet that the 5.75 can do better.

    Probably because at that price point there are so many others with proven track recods. Its a shame because both the Deleon and Cortes are excellent detectors. My best guess is they use whats perceived as dated technoogy.

  • @wiki1979able

    Thats cool. Do you still have to to dig every type of pull tab. because that's my problem in parks.lol

    Only the Golden. The thing with Tesoro, with only 1 exception, is their detectors are all different that's probably why I own so many.

    The only problem is some small foil will probably still sound off same as gold rings.

  • @travelinjavelin

    how do you think a 12 x 10 SEF coil would do on one of these?

  • @mjcz5853
    @mjcz5853  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    No I don't. It sold very quickly. If theres a way you can swing a new one, get it. It's an excellent detector.

    You can't find one right now, Tesoro is modifying the machine. I spoke with Tesoro today trying to find out why all dealers were out of stock. That's what I was told today, techs are modifying it to make it better.

  • @h7oslo

    for Sparky..
    Ladies Yellow Metal Ring with Stone is SO close to foil!
    There is NO machine that will tell the difference reliably.
    Why take the chance? Dig it! Very good chance it's less than 4".
    Tesoro makes very sound machines.
    Use one, you will never wish for more.
    Sure, there my be digital display envy, from time to time... it's all trimmings.
    Need deep? Hard to beat a Tejon.
    I've got some Fishers, Garretts, and Whites in the pile.
    Tesoros are easier to use, and just simply get the job done.
    Good luck!
    I want you to find it!
    If you don't, it remains lost, to all of us, forever!
    :-)

    I have a (MAJOR) steel pull tab-infested park near me. These can be infuriating to someone who's discrimination will not knock these devils out. So meaning to say that kind of park (TOTALLY) rules out the almighty Blisstool LTC64X in probably every version up to the most recent Version 6. Don't even think of using a Mikron NRG-110 here, a DeepTech Vista Gold won't work on steel tabs either, very hard for a Tesoro Tejon to get rid of them, and using most, if not (all) the older T/R non-disc type detectors at a park this infested with these steel tabs will (also) net you at least a couple thousand of them at this park by the time you're done hunting it with one of these machines as well. So Michael, your audience has (REALLY) got to be careful they don't end up wasting a (LOT) of money on one or many machines that cannot take care of the steel tab problem. But guess what? The Golden Umax can knock them out (totally) at least down to around 6 or 7" and (still) find the nickels and thinner/smaller/deeper gold items. But be careful. On my older Golden Umax, I can only (BARELY) eliminate the aluminum tab and still(if I work very hard at it) listen to and here a slight difference in the nickel/thin gold(?) versus the aluminum tab. Not very easy though to tell the difference in sound between the two with my older Golden Umax. So be careful what you buy people. Too summerize, it boils down to newer Golden Umax versus the older version (MAYBE)........

      Just found an old tones unit that has been upgraded to the new tones unit by Randy at Tesoro. I was lucky fo find this unit to replace one I had a few years ago as they don't make them any more. Thanks for the Video.
