Solo rustic motorcycle camping in Michigan part 2 - What's that noise?

  • Part 2 of my first rustic motorcycle camping trip. 3 days, 2 nights in a rustic state park campground in Michigan - no running water, no electricity.
I hear a strange noise in the night - leave a comment if you have any idea what it is. It sounds like some sort of animal, but may have been humans goofing around.
I hike on a mountain bike/hiker trail known as "The Dragon" in Newaygo, Michigan where I realize some similarities to motorcycle riding.
In this video I perfect my camping stove s'more technique. I deal with some rain, and evaluate my rustic moto camping experience compared to my last motocamping trip to a busy, crowded state park.
Watch the video to see how it goes!
I'm a new motorcycle rider. At the age of 54 I decided motorcycle camping looked amazing and I wanted to try it. The problem - I didn't know anything about motorcycles. I bought one, learned to ride it, took the MSF Basic Rider course through my local Harley Davidson dealership, and am spending my summer camping and sightseeing on my motorcycle. The bike is a 2015 KTM 390 Duke.

Awesome! It's so fun to watch people discover moto camping. I'm 52 and just started this year. Enjoy! Keep the videos coming.

enjoying your channel, I’m also looking into moto camping/hiking but I’ll wait until it’s below 100 here in Texas. Safe travel.

If you're in the Newaygo area again the Riverstop cafe is an awesome place to eat! We stop on our way to Baldwin each spring for the Blessing of the bikes. The sound you heard was a bear.

I'll definitely check out Riverstop café though now I'm not sure how likely I am to go back if there are bears running through the campground😂

Definitely not a secret - I may have mentioned the name in part 1 - it was Newaygo State Park. Great campground!
