  • Modified 2019 VW Atlas Review. Driving this VW Atlas was a ton a fun. Getting to take it off the road was a new experience too! Lifting the Atlas and adding some aggressive looking wheels really sets this thing off!

We bought a 2019 lifted Atlas with 4-motion, technology and R-Line package 2 weeks ago. We love it and get all kinds of looks when we drive it. Yesterday a man tapped on the window when I was leaving a store parking lot and said, "I followed you in here when I saw the car and waited for you to come out so I could ask you about it." He said he did not know VW made such a large and awesome vehicle and also said he was going to go home and google it right away. He had never seen/heard of an Atlas before. I am pretty sure we have the only lifted Atlas in northern California right now. I wish it had a larger gas tank and, so far, we are averaging 18 mpg. Still, we used to have a Suburban and the top mpg it EVER got was 17 and it was not 4WD...it did have a 41 gallon gas tank, however. So, main improvement could be larger gas tank (at least 25 gal; current is 18.6). The 4-motion "dial" has a mountain, snowflake, etc. to easily change the traction. You will love this lifted Atlas!

Thank you! Two of my friends own Atlases. They have both complained about the tank size. Hopefully they can improve that going forward! Thanks for watching!!

I have a 2018 SEL V6 4 motion. 35,000 miles on it and no issues. Love it. Plus if I break it, much cheaper to fix then my RR sport was

I tell people that it's actually a pretty capable car. You just have to do aftermarket things to it, like you do every other car. Volkswagen's 4motion has proven itself long before this car came out

What does a custom makeover like this run? I have a 2019 SE w/tech. Been itching to do this...

I’m a farmer. I regularly drive my Chevy Volt and Golf7 TDI over worse than this in my fields. This is not off-roading.

    • @artieshell9205

Technically…. They’re not on a road. Hence, “off road “

  • @johnmoser2689
    @johnmoser2689 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Well I see a lot of arguements that he didn't drive it through a mud bog or rock climbing event but I don't think Vorderman would've wanted him to risk damaging an expensive vehicle they intend to sell

I was going to buy that but I decided it was more than I would use so I bought the Arteon R line instead ....very happy I did
I still really like that Atlas though

I think my Jetta would do the same. In fact I've had it in worse. Bro you gotta get out of the city. That might technically be "off road" but it isn't. Looks nice

Jessiah Bowers apparently they are the fuel Zephyr wheels, 20” size. With 275/55/20 Goodrich off road tires. It also has a lift but Idk how much of a lift it has.

My SEL Premium has done that already. I wish they let you do so in a rougher area. Driving on grass and mud is not all. My winter snow driving was more involved than what you have experienced. Sorry.

Thanks for watching! I wish we could have been a bit more rough on the vehicle too. But this is a dealership car not a press car.

Carguments thank you for putting it up. It sure looks like it can do a lot more wish at least they show more capabilities. I do understand your predicament of it being a dealer car.

A unibody vehicle and off-road travel is an oxymoron. What you have is a real good snow travel suv. Lipstick on a pig

Trade mpg to have people you don’t know point. then we assign our meanings into their heads. They think I’m “Cool”.

I remember when I took my SEL 3.6 into the grass for the first time to play with off-road.... It SLAMMED on the brakes the second it hit the grass and turned off hahahah, teens were laughing at me at the state park. I said it's a high maintenance off-roader I guess, didn't want to get dirty.
Make sure you disable safety features I guess first.

J, I have two Jeeps with standard 4x4. I also have a 2019 Atlas w/4motion. No rock crawler but don't knock it. It's pretty capable for what the buyer market is. IT's for those who don't want to spill their Starbucks while cruising a logging road. ;-)
Now, if it only had the same type suspension the car it replaced had, it'd be set.
