Thank you! thank you! thank you! I love Greek food and I’m not quite ready to eat at restaurants, this has given me life. It turned out really well. So much so that I will be adding it to my recipes. 🥰
Wow, I need to try it, looks simple and delicious. I was using commercial tzatziki on my souvlaki, but now I will try it your way-the Greek way. Thank you Ken. 🧿🧿🧿
Thank you soooooooo much for the tip concerning Cucumber straining . I've had the ingredients for a while and that part just turned me off . I have everything I need to do it simply. 🥰 I love watching you cook ! 🔪
Hey Ken, I just made this and it is awesome. Ευχαριστώ πολύ FYI I am an Italian learning Greek because I love the country so much. How does Tzatziki do if you freeze it? I am doing a western RV trip and want to make a batch in advance.
Ken, I have only eaten store bought and liked it. I decided to try to make it, using your recipe, because the other food channels use so much stuff in theirs. OMG, I couldn't believe how amazing it was! Thank God I was alone when trying it out, I would've scared someone. My eyes rolled to the back of my head, my body shook and then I yelled out, "Opa!"😳🤯😜🤗 It was that good! No more packaged dips for me! Thank you!!
Congratulations Ken for your excellent recipes. I would like to say that also in Greece we add a little bit of olive oil (3-4 t.s.) and white vinegar(1-2 t.s.), in tzatziki sauce.
Your souvlaki and tzatziki sauce are awesome Ken! I would dare to say it is better than any souvlaki I've had at any Greekfest I have been to. Thanks for the excellent recipe!
Love tzatziki. Load it up on a good Gyro and everything. What if you don’t have a salad spinner? I’m Greek too born and raised U S. Spent a couple of years as a kid in ARGOS. Joined the Air Force after high school in 76 and was sent to CRETE and ATHENS 😎👍🇺🇸🇬🇷. Loved it there.
Slither all over my olive oil fried eggplant and zucchini! Nectar of the Gods!! On roasted lamb or roast kid goat for Easter!!! I can't wait! ( If you salt eggplant lightly and cover slices with paper towels to soak up the moisture as the salt draws it out , and wipe off mostly, batter and fry spear in olive oil! Heaven! As a child on Crete, my Greek friends YiaYia always made a delicious dense Easter bread with (always only!) A dyed egg in the center of the round golden egg type holiday bread . Could you do a video so I can attempt it? 🥰
Ken I sure wish you would include a link directly to this recipe and all your recipes which I can click on to copy and paste into my computer softwear food app.......keh efharesto para polie Ken:).
Hi Ken.. I make tzatziki almost the same way (for about 30 years.. people always tell me to put oregano in it or other things, but dille it is) but I always add some olive oil en lemonjuice to it. Is tzatiki made in different ways, depending on the region?
Good simple, clear and concise recipe !! Good tip with salad spinner. Always looking to share cooking tips to kids who are starting to really appreciated all the wonderful flavors throughout the world !! Cheers.
@@KensGreekTable Ohh ding ! ding ! I Totally forgot about the Pita its been a while since I was in Nyc and had a lot of Greek food Thank You .. God bless
I'm missing the olive oil in the recipe. That's part of the traditional recipe and it helps balance out the acidity of the yogurt. Also how my very, very Greek taught me how to make it.
I have found many recipes online to have 2 or 3 times more ingredients. Everyone has their own preference. This recipe is for minimalists who don't have the money , time or the rest of the ingredients available. You like it with more stuff in it, then add it. No one will hate or judge you for it. Please don't judge him for posting his quick version of the recipe. His chanel, his recipe.
I watched this video. Loved it! TH-cam asked me about sending it to my subscription feed. ACCIDENTLY, I stated that I didn't like the video. Hope that little mistake doesn't count against you.
Thank you for your comment and honesty lol. No worries. I think you can go back and un dislike the vid and like it again. Not sure if that’s even possible. Either way, thanks for your feedback:-)) Cheers, Ken🇨🇦

You can also sprinkle the cucumber with coarse salt, let it sit for 10 minutes and then just ring out the water....

I Tried It In Westfield Miranda & Home At Miranda Sydney australia
👍👍👍
To make it creamier use 1/2 yogurt and 1/2 sour cream. A trick my yia-yia taught me.
Your yiayia is not GREEK if she told you that
No more shop-bought for me!
I am serving this with the fried zucchini you just posted!
Fantastic!!! Tzatziki goes with everything....
Great recipe Ken, so much that I’m thinking about changing my last name to Nollettipapadopolis !
Hahaha it’s a start…. 💪💪💪
thank you making this for our barbecue on Monday.
rosey rosay Excellent!!!!! Let me know how it turns out:-))

Ken Panagopoulos I will. quick question, I noticed some people put vinegar in their sauce, do you recommend doing so? 🇭🇹
rosey rosay Many do but I don't. I find the flavour not as sharp when not using the vinegar. Totally up to you:-))

👍👍👍
Now I know how to pronounce Tzatziki ,,,, Yahoo!
Haha awesome Beau!!! You learn something new every day.... 😂👍💪
Yum!
Just made this, added a bit of lemon juice too. A pinch of sugar as our garlic was bitter.
Awesome!!! 👍👍👍
@@KensGreekTable I also made pita bread from scratch, souvlaki and greek roasted lemon potatoes! NOM!
Michelle JD now you’re talking....
Now I made Souvlaki, Do I dip my Souvlaki in the sauce , How is it traditionally served with Souvlaki ?
You can either dip the souvlaki if you’re eating it naked (without pita) or spread the tzatziki on the pita if it’s “in a blanket”....
@@KensGreekTable Ohh ding ! ding ! I Totally forgot about the Pita its been a while since I was in Nyc and had a lot of Greek food Thank You .. God bless
Ken, I always did the same, but I added mint instead of dill. Is this possible? Isn't that Greek style?
Actually dill is the more traditional Greek. Mint is more of a mid-eastern version....
@@KensGreekTable Ok , thank you
Feel like licking the bowl,I’m sure I am not the only one lol !
😂😂😂👍👍👍
No vinegar? No Evo?
How many grams of yogurt do you use?
Ken, if I use sheep yoghurt, those in the clay container, do I have to adjust it somehow?
Btw, you can strain it further if you have some touli cloth
Hey Dimo, no you don’t. As long as it’s strained, it should be ok....
(τούλι για το στράγγισμα του αγγουριού εννοείται)
Σωστός....
It looks so good I could eat the bowl………
LOL Welcome to my world....
eating tzatziki by the bowl full is how i found out it makes for a really good facial mask, too....😂😂😂

Add some white wine vinegar and salt to your cucumber and they will extract the fluids in 15 minutes.
Great tip!!! Thanks Walter... 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
i add a small amount of white vinegar to grated potatoes when making latkes. keeps potatoes nice and white.

you ever add sour cream?
Never!!!!! Haha that would just be wrong....
@@KensGreekTable there's no right and wrong in flavor.
why haven't you tried it?
💞💞💞
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Try adding a white or red wine vinegar. It will bring greater flavor to it. Trust me on this. Great video though…👏
It only takes 5 minutes to separate the water from cucumber. Just add salt, set to the side.
If you are on low sodium diet and love to eat this, this is a tremendous help. Thank you for this.
No lemon on it? I always thought it has to have lemon....🙃
You can always add lemon LOL
That’s nowhere near as much water that should be removed!
The human body needs 2 liters of water a day.
