    Great review!
Agree with what you said about the comparison but I will also add that Oajan is more gourmand/sweet/dessert in my opinion.
Also don’t forget to pronounce the S in Hermès 😋

Bonjour mon ami, thanks for the feedback - I agree that Oajan tends to be creamier and more gourmand, I called it syrupy like an Serge Lutens. Merci, will keep the "S" alive :) ! Au revoir !

Razvan, I love your comparison video with Oajan vs Ambre Narguilé. I own an older bottle of Oajan & I love it. I have smelled Ambre Narguilé at a Hermès store and I love the fragrance. I prefer Oajan but you can not go wrong with either fragrance.

Ed, my friend :) ! Nice to hear from you, how is the older Oajan .. is it much more performing than the current ones? I had an older Layton and was projecting like crazy for hours vs perfumed water in the 82% Alc. variant. Have a great weekend !

@@razvanyke IMO, the older versions of PDM fragrances are better but so are the older versions of Amouage fragrances. Somebody told me that Initio has added more alcohol to their fragrances as well. I do not know if it is true but it would not surprise me.

@@Ed-ce5mbOn my skin, the 82% alc version of Oajan comes off as more refined. Better blending.
However, I have finally smelled AN, and it is better and more refined than both Oajans.
It preforns less, but that can be taken care of by respraying.
Carlisle, Herod and Godolphin have been butchered by the reformulation. Trash.
      Only Oajan somehow improved.
But still, I will probably buy AN and not the new Oajan.
Sadly Shagya has been discontinued according to PdM rep... I am going to cherish my bottle of Shagya, the only really unique/original scent of the PdM tbat I've smelled.

Enjoy the channel. One thing about PDM is that the company is cutting costs on their products overall with higher consumer pricing. An example is their recent refresh of the gloss black bottles and gold signature lettering on some of the bottles. These were no doubt costing them more to produce and was higher grade, it's obvious. Now, the new Oajan's have fallen to the dull matte black bottles and cheap silver plain fonts on the front of the bottles. I have the 82% formulation like you and the performance is ok but Oajan should be a sub 250 fragrance.

Thank you for the feedback 🙏 I am happy with the performance of my Oajan, even with 82%. I heard some rumours that PDM/Initio have been sold. Therefore, the new plain box design, no more card inside and higher prices (again) might be caused by that. Thanks for watching:)

I bought Oajan 78% alc. but had to sell it - it was too strong. It induced headaches and a red burning skin. I loved the way it smelled from the bottle and on paper, but it was too much for my skin.
Now I want to smell/try Ambre Narguile even before trying Oajan 82% (which I suspect will still be too strong for ,y skin). Both are unavailable in my country. But I'm flying to Paris soon, for the Olympic games, and will try them both.
Mark (robes08) say AN is his most complimented perfume. That says something.

Hello my friend, that is one great feedback right there. I also had red skin/rash from a scent, was from a JPG Le Male from 2010 ... it might be that they get bad and they are not safe to use anymore. I own a Oajan 82% and it is very strong, but not annoying and it is not giving me any red skin anymore. AN is wonderful but already very expensive, Hermes have raised again the prices. Take a look at Kilian - Angels Share too, same scent DNA and very easy to wear. Take care !

@@razvanyke Hi there. Thanks for your reply. I've tested Kilian's AS, and to my nose - it's very personal - it's significantly different. I don't like it at all, even from the bottle or on paper.
I don't mind paying Hermes's prices if it's significantly superior to Oajan... after all, a 50ml bottle will last me for many years.
Only the scent matters. Not the performance, not the price, not the longevity and not the projection - for me only the scent matters!!!
I'll respray if it fades a way quickly. But I want the scent to put a smile on my face whenever I spray.
Just bought Xerjoff Pikovya Dama for 700$ (that's the price in my country) because it puts a big smile on my face whenever I spray. If Hermes, which I've never smelled, does the same - I'll pull the trigger.

Good video, I'm really curious to try those two....have you had a chance to try the other fragrances in the Hermessence line? It's interesting to find out that several perfumes from this line are the "inspiration" of some newer releases. I was sampling Nuit de Megeve from Eight and Bob and Bal D'Afrique from Byredo not that long ago and think they're both good and was wondering which was released first....I went on to find out that there's an Hermescence fragrance called Vetiver Tonka that has the same type of DNA that those two share, but was released in 2004. On that note, I really recommend Vetiver Tonka if you haven't tried it yet, it's an incredible take on vetiver...just wish the price wasn't so high.

Hello Ruben, many thanks for the feedback, I am glad you like the video :) ! I do have Vetiver Tonka, in the same orange bag with Ambre Narguilé, I will give it a review soon. From all the mentioned, Bal D´Afrique is the nicest, IMO. There is a review for it on my channel. Take care !

Hi there, I am looking to buy Oajan.. I wanted to your advice if the performance/projection and silage is still good in the new batches?
    Please help.
    Blessings🙌🏼

Hey Brandon, good news ! I am not aware of any changes for the Oajan in the late batches. You have also Angel´s Share from Kilian to be considered. I own Oajan and Ambre Narguilé so both are great choices.

@razvanyke Thank you so much for your fast reply.. it's only now on the PDM website Oajan is with silver cap, and the older bottles were with gold cap.. so I was wondering if there are any reformulation that might have happened.
Also, which one would you recommend out of Pdm Oajan or DIOR tobacolor?
      But thank you once again!
      Blessings 🙌🏽

I actually find Ambre Narguile to be "better", I like Oajan as well but I feel like it's too much, Hermes is more refined.

    • @razvanyke
      @razvanyke  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hey Danni, 100% I am with you on this. Hermes is smoother and more refined. Thanks for watching

I have smelled AN for the first time today.
It's more refined... for the first hour.
On my skin AN fades away after 2 to 3 hours.
Oajan is less refined in the first hour, but gets better and better as it dries down.
After 2 to 3 hours, Oajan delivers AN's promise perfectly.
Kilian's AS is significantly inferior to these 2 scents (on my skin).
Note - I refer to Oajan 82%. The 78% was too strong... I couldn't wear it. The 82% is more refined than the 82%.
Which is the opposite than any other Marly perfume.
(I am in Paris right now, for the Olympics, and I've visited most of the major perfume shops - hermes, pdm, l'artisan perfumer, frederic malle... and many more - a fraghead's dream come true).
