Cool old Great Northern diesel. This along with the rest of the SDP40’s, even the EMD SD40-2 were inspired to make the Amtrak SDP40F of which only three survive.
Just to let you know, the SDP40Fs were rough as sh*t regarding their steam generators, trucks and bad track conditions. Oh yea there were also easy to wreck.
Great Northern #325 is back in Omaha Orange and Pullman Green now. It's doing an excursion for Trains Magazine with it's new Omaha Orange and Pullman Green paint job. That's my favorite locomotive at the MTM
Nope. Great Northern #400 is Hustle Muscle which is on operational lease to Lake Superior Railroad Museum and North Shore Scenic Railroad. The locomotive you're seeing here is Great Northern #325.

Unlike the SDP40 and SD40-2, the SDP40Fs were plagued with issues in their later career.

Now I know where BNSF’s color scheme comes from lol, the ultimate compromise, I❤it!👍🏻🚂
The G.N. is alive and well. Can almost make an empire builder with a couple of domes.
Is this the Hustle Muscle?
No, the Hustle Muscle is GN 400 (SD45), this is GN 325 (SDP40), and there is only one "Hustle Muscle" which clearly carries the name on the engine.
