  • Meet AMIE - the Additive Manufacturing Integrated Energy demonstration project. Led by Oak Ridge National Laboratory and many industry partners, the AMIE project changes the way we think about generating, storing, and using electrical power. AMIE uses an integrated energy system that shares energy between a building and a vehicle. And, utilizing advanced manufacturing and rapid innovation, it only took one year from concept to launch.

long over due , Awesome to see . like to see how snowfall, hurricanes , etc weather endurance might effect the integrated systems , same for the building and vehicle.thanks for posting

Minute 3:13: extracting electical energy from an electrictiy-powered car uses the car as a powerbank; nothing really innovative here (or are there no bi-directional charging Systems?) To make it work, you need to think when the probability of using the car detached from the house is low (e.g. your next trip is not negatively impacted). That's a software problem - nothing innovative here for a manufaturing lab?
