Basic Overview of a 10 ton Carrier Package Unit

- This video is a basic overview of the different parts and components of a carrier package unit were performing service on this morning
Most roof top units are out of sight, out of mind. Many business have service contracts with companies who claim to be performing maintenance on their systems. Often times we find in the field, this is not being performed properly. This customer has a property management service that performs maintenance on the unit, but they left dirty filters and loose and broken belts in these units.
Some basic elements a commercial maintenance should have to be successful
1. Change belts and filters
2. Adjust tension and check blower pulleys and sheaves
3. Grease bearings as needed
4. Pull and clean blower wheel if needed
5. Wash condenser coils annually, or biannually if heat pump unit
6. Clean flame rod sensor and check incoming/outgoing gas pressures on gas valve
7. Check static pressures on ductwork
8. Check compressor and other motor amp draw and voltage
9. Inspect and tighten all electrical connections, look for potential run through points.
10. Check refrigerant levels, temperatures

Hi, we got the same unit for our store. I noticed the fan blower and one of the compressors are not getting the 24 volts but the other compressor gets the normal 24 v and engaged, do you know what is wrong with it? Therefore, only one compressor works and no blower running nor the other compressor work. If I manually press down the contactors on those two things, they would run. They are not getting the 24 v as they should. Thanks!
