As a designer in the games industry, we use this as the number one ‘lens’ when looking at our work. What experience are we trying to make? What should the player feel? Folk lose sight of that when creating often, they establish a paradigm by which they succeed and then they just repeat it over and over without thinking on the goals, and eventually the world moves on.

TH-cam just allows so much more information and conversation about the sports topics that people actually care about. ESPN stops caring about the NFL draft about halfway into round 3 while I’m watching guys break down the film for tight ends drafted in the fifth round that could be a hidden gem. Meanwhile ESPN will be having the same Lebron vs Jordan debate day in and day out and making a mountain of one player’s tweet to leverage a new contract the night before. Ironically, it’s the small guys that I go to that don’t resort to the clickbait headlines

You don't have to do that anymore, simply because the content is on demand, you can find specifically what you're looking for. Not only that, but am I going to pay like 50 bucks a month or w/e it is to get a cable subscription to see them? Nope. @@zacharypatterson423 Shefter's just a puppet for the league office. He reports what they tell him to report. A mouthpiece. Remember, all 32 NFL teams are actually 1 entity. Its all centralized, including what information gets released. They craft narratives just like any mainstream news outlet and they use Shefter to do it. Dont care much about it. Now seeing players go on indy content channels where you get to know the players is worth far more to me. For instance, Aaron Nagler of Cheeseheadtv has had many Packers current and former players on his channel. Tom Grossi (who Brett mentioned and showed multiple screenshots of in this video) has had sit down interviews with the Packers team president Mark Murphy and many others. Absolutely love it. Way better than anything Shefter brings to the table. The indy content creators humanize the game where corporate "insiders" just commercialize and streamline information. Wont miss much.

You've been able to explain concepts in ways that makes people who are more causal fans get more interested in the game. I remember seeing your first vid about why Carson Wentz was struggling in 2020 and I've been hooked to your channel ever since. Big fan though I miss seeing you prepare a drink in the intro/outro.

It’s really simple. ESPN has sucked for a decade. They’ve been very open about the fact that they(much like other mainstream media networks Fox/CNN for example) base their entire programming on creating controversy. They also have obvious agendas. I know that every time I turn on ESPN, someone will be yelling at me about Lebron or the Cowboys. It’s boring and annoying at the same time. It’s hard for me to feel super bad for most of these folks. They got the incredible opportunity to make great money to do a dream job. They didn’t do it well enough. Most folks never get the opportunity.

I love watching your channel and several others that you’ve listed here on TH-cam exactly because you all provide a very personal and specific brand and outlook on the NFL. Since Netflix first came out with a streaming service I haven’t looked back to traditional cable. I used an antenna for years to try to get NFL games (recently switched to TH-camTV so I can skip commercials or watch from my phone) and the worst part of the game is the mediocre commentary and the commercials in a system from decades past. I would pay a premium to instead to listen to any of you guys and your commentary to the game.
