I wanted to make my dragons into scenic pieces that show off their natural environments and make them awesome centerpieces for my personal collection. I started with the first dragon I sculpted for Wizkids, the adult white dragon, and tried to do a more colorful paint job than just using the base white/ grey/ black tones.
Most of the coloring is based on the concept illustration on which the sculpt is based by my good friend Tom Babbey (check him out, his art is awesome).

This was amongst the best paintjobs and basing I've seen, especially for white dragons. I would love to see what you do with the rest of the dragons.

In preparation for having to paint one myself, I've been watching quite a few white dragons being painted, and this is probably the best end result I've seen so far. I know that for you the base was probably the most interesting to work on, but I'd have loved a more thorough step-by-step, or thoughts behind colors on the dragon itself. Anyway, I'm glad youtube finally decided to send your video my way, and I've subscribed and will definitely refer back to this video later!!

You did a wonderful job with the adapted base. I'm guessing it helps keeping the miniature better balanced.
The added colors were a nice touch!
Thanks! I wanted to make something more colorful even when the dragon is supposed to be white, adding color always makes it feel less flat.
