I love how the musicians react to the sax solo. Most of them start smiling a couple seconds in. When it ends the trombonist shakes his head and the trompetist nods smiling like five seconds after. :)
I love that saxophonist !!! He and so many often reacts to people from the band doing amazing things. On the "Say it aint so" video he always reacts to the singer high notes. I love looking for this Easter eggs in PMJ videos
blakelewistelevision That unexpected beatbox was like a wrapped present busting open at just the right time to fill this space and time with WOW. Your scat was spot on too. Loved ya!
I have been listening to your stuff for over a year now.. I just hadn´t heard this one b4.. I even tried to buy tickets to your European tour last year... won´t miss it this year!!! Thank you!!!
I've seen this video 100 times, and that solo (2:33) still literally gives me chills. Jacob Scesney is a living blessing to music itself. And also is playing the sax, not the clarinet like the credits say.
Blake's voice is perfect for this, as are his skills beatboxing. This is really entertaining. The sax solo is crazy, and played perfectly off the 'boxing.
i love how this song continually built! in the beginning i could tell he was capable of letting his vocals rip but was holding back. when he finally did let loose he did not disappoint!
BUT....BUT......THAT SAXOPHONE SOLO! Oh my fuckin lord, that was one of the most impressive and perfect solos on any instrument I have ever heard. Jacob you absolute legend!
2:10 i listened to this in spotify and thought "wait why did the vocal go like that? i thought they perform the whole thing without edits" and i searched for this and HE ACTUALLY SANG THE PART. Absolutely amazing
can we stop to give some props to the sax player for copying the style and cadence of the beat boxing while also doing something melodic and musical? Holy smokes dude...way to freakin go!
+K.o.t.O.R. 511 I think it really fits Fallout New Vegas and you can make it seem like the either the radpack or the kings are singing it on their stages.
He may be "good" but to call him a LEGEND is making that word a joke and meaningless. If you don't understand that then you are seriously dumber than rocks.
Its a stupid saying. If you want to sound ignorant by all means go for it but I simply told the truth and was trying to help you improve yourself so you don't sound like an idiot my friend.
Why is the sax player not credited? He's amazing! I really love Adam's face as it goes from 'Nice opening flourish' to 'Oh hell yeah!' in about 3 seconds. I show your stuff to everyone I can and they always me how to get more. I may grow weary of writing it down and just get some cards printed with your info on them. :-)
Hey David, the sax player is credited along with all the band members under every video! You can check out all our info from our website! postmodernjukebox.com/ If you subscribe to Scott's newsletter you can receive immediate updates on new music and live shows :)
Beloved Brother, Beat- Boxing Beat- Boxer, Box- Beater, Blake Lewis, Beautifully Broadcasting his Beautiful Voice, and his Blessed Sense of Rhythm, Being Backed By his Brassy Version of a Big Band Bravado
So I love Imagine Dragons, one off the biggest reasons is the mighty voice of Reynolds, so I'm really suprised to see this song work so well with such a soft singing voice. Impressive.
An old obnoxious pop song crawled back into my conscious today… I thought to myself, ‘there’s probably a really cool jazz remake of it..’ Wasn’t disappointed
Can confirm it is perfect. Discovered PMJ and this song trough a mod for the radio. Sadly, it was removed for copyrights reason i guess. Whenever it was playing, I stopped and admired the scene while listening to it. PS: Jacob, YOU DA MAN !!!

Damn, I'll be honest, I didn't like the beatboxing originally when I heard this the other day, but listening to it again... This is really great! Love this guy, he sounds amazing, and I'm glad I gave it a second chance! :D Good to hear an amazing cover of a song I've heard played to death.
wfd2012 I tried telling my parents that I would buy them tickets since I am out of country but they didn't take me up. I am supper bummed out on that I am sure they would have had an incredible time.
2:33 It took me a moment to realise that this sound was actually coming from the saxo. That solo was fayaa!!! Love Blake Lewis' voice!!! Great cover ! Wish there was more music with only real instruments on the radio. So groovy
fabulous arrangement. loved Blake’s vocals and beatboxing. and not only was Jacob’s solo awesome, but the other two horn players reaction to it (blow man, blow!) was superior.
Witty TH-cam name NNNNNOOOOOPE! The Fallout cultural era is the 1950's. 50's jazz has a very distinct style. This is nothing close to that style. This is totally new age fusion jazz, nothing like the lounge and swing music of the 50's.
Suika Fallout is a series of games where you play in the radioactive wasteland following the nuclear apocalypse of the Earth following a large scale nuclear war in the 1950's. This song is about a nuclear apocalypse and is in 1950's style, thus making it incredibly related to Fallout.
HypothermicIce Despite the retrofuturist art-deco aesthetic of the Fallout games, it's not quite as though society was crystalised in the 50s. The Fallout universe is one where the big scare over nuclear power never happened. I think the official lore of the series has WW2 ending differently, or something. In any case, the people of our timeline tried to distance themselves from nuclear power, and from the aesthetic of the age. We went with clean lines in our design moving forward into the 80s, while the 50s art-deco look never died in the Fallout version of America. They reveled in a golden age, driven by the atom, and clung to the trappings of that age. The music in the games is mostly leftover from the real 50s, our 50s, but it's not inconceivable more music would have been written, and rediscovered, or new art would be made in the wasteland after so long.
Still one of the greatest vocal solos coupled with one of the greatest saxophone solos, ever. This track never fails to raise the hair on the back of my kneck. It's, well banging.
a truly extraordinary 5 minutes and 9 seconds. a musical mobius strip that loops back on itself yet leaves us not quite where we started: transcending the channel's own mission statement, yet not abandoning it.
I would LOVE to see this version live OMG they turned this song and flipped it upside down! One the 40s beat with apocalyptic lyrics and beatboxing thrown in with an insane sax solo. I didn't even know that a sax could even sound like that!
These guys are incredible. So much talent. I used to play sax but I was never that good. Anyone who doesn't appreciate the sheer talent and creativity of this group is insane
I've liked this video for a year now and can't seem to find why hadn't i seen it before. At first i just couldn't stop thinking something like "oh, wow his voice is so precious" but then at 2:09 with the beatbox, this song, this video and Blake Lewis stole my whole heart.

Evija3000 the Sax solo was awesome, glad I'm not the only one who noticed it!!

Volto aqui sempre para curtir o solo e compartilhar da alegria e satisfação de toda a banda e audiência. Muito gostosa a sensação.
This channel is like the the superhero of music industry: saving one song at a time.
!Al Tair on God it is🔥🔥🔥
Exactly!! (though songs like this one doesnt need saving)
The original is good, this version is also good
Well said!
This is already a good song bro
Excited to finally release this with you all. Thanks for all the love and how about Jacobs Sax solo?!!! What a beast. Can't wait to sing this on tour.
blakelewistelevision Excellent effort incorporating the beatbox to the genre. I didn't think it would work at first but you proved me wrong.
blakelewistelevision as a fellow beatboxer i can say THAT WAS FUCKING ACE!
blakelewistelevision That unexpected beatbox was like a wrapped present busting open at just the right time to fill this space and time with WOW. Your scat was spot on too. Loved ya!
blakelewistelevision THANK YOU FOR THIS this was so beautiful, and i love your music!
blakelewistelevision Fantastic job, brother! That was a great performance. That sax solo was incredible as well!

That saxophone solo is the bomb!
The A-Bomb!
A song using nuclear apocalypse imagery set to 1940's styling. Weird coincidence with the announcement of Fallout4 yesterday.
TheJaredtheJaredlong Not much of a coincidence, Fallout 4 is in the title...
Neronix17 Hmm... was it already in the title half an hour ago... I'm not sure...
Neronix17 I solemnly swear that was not there when I posted.
TheJaredtheJaredlong Might have just not noticed.
Neronix17 No, I think he's right, it wasn't there right away, they added it after a few minutes or so.
I didn't even know a saxophone could *do* that.
Try anything by Too many zooz.

jazz beatbox is now my new favorite thang
i love how this song continually built! in the beginning i could tell he was capable of letting his vocals rip but was holding back. when he finally did let loose he did not disappoint!
That sax solo combined with the beatboxing just about brought me to my knees.
BUT....BUT......THAT SAXOPHONE SOLO! Oh my fuckin lord, that was one of the most impressive and perfect solos on any instrument I have ever heard. Jacob you absolute legend!
Everyone on here complaining about that "random" beatboxing, I fucking loved it, he's talented!!
+Quang Sơn Lê
It was *the* shit. FTFY
the beatboxing was awesome
it does say "beatbox" in the title so their argument is invalid.
He is very talented yes.
But beatboxing did not fit in with the music genre that this song is being sung in.
I remember when he did that on American Idol
2:10 i listened to this in spotify and thought "wait why did the vocal go like that? i thought they perform the whole thing without edits" and i searched for this and HE ACTUALLY SANG THE PART. Absolutely amazing
