This is the best Nano video I've seen so far!! How did you integrate the GT-1000 with the Nano? Did you connect it to the Send/Return of the GT? If so, how did you balance the levels? Could you make a video with both together? I'm trying to use them but I'm having some trouble!
I run my GT-1000 Core a little weird. I wire it to my ES-8 as two independent pedals. It might not make a lot of sense, but a typical patch will look something like Guitar -> Nano -> GTK Return 1 -> Output. I'm not sure if helps or what kind of issues you're having, but I do have an in depth video on how I use the GT-1000 Core. th-cam.com/video/8vfzu0k3s4k/w-d-xo.html
Question - ES-8 as a midi controller on a Boss Katana Mk2 is it possible to turn individual FX off on the Katana via midi? I think the Katana & the ES-8 could make the ultimate rig. This would allow you to use specialty pedals that aren't in the amp through the ES-8.
Great video. I have the Nano and I love it !!! I would love to see your pedal build. I am starting to build mine now,] however just in the process of looking for inspirations.
I'm hoping you could answer a question for me. Can one store 256 captures, 256 IR's and 64 presets in the device itself? If I understand correctly, one only has access to five presets from the controls on the device or with the app, but is it possible to access 64 presets with a MIDI controller? Thanks in advance!
@@kevindaniels676 Thanks, I currently use the Morningstar MC6 Pro to control the Eventide H90 and Strymon BigSky MX. I tried the Two Notes Opus in the effects loop of my H90 which I also controlled with the MC6, but had some issues making me continue my tone quest. I now run the Universal Audio Ruby between the H90's two processors (dual mode) with a couple drive pedals. While I'm pretty happy with the sounds I'm getting now, the Ruby doesn't have MIDI control and I'm unable to select a variety of amp/drive settings with one footswitch press. Sonically, I'd love to be able to instantly get UA Ruby, Enigmatic, Anti, Lion and Dream sounds, however they don't have MIDI, would take up way too much real estate and cost over $1600. Since the Nano Cortex costs about the same as two UA amp pedals, is MIDI controllable and would provide many different amp/cab sims, I'm seriously considering it. Thanks again for replying!
1700$ is not much. We've been paying at least 1000$ vor an amp head and another 500$ for a cabinet. And with that we are a the lower end. You likely pay up to 2000$ for one amp setup plus at least one or two pedals. So please, please, please stop calling the Quad Cortex expensive. I am one of those who uses very little of the features it offers and still it's waaaay more than what I did with my ENGL Fireball (1000 bucks) and the Orange 212 (800 bucks) that I had. If they sold it for 3000 it would still be a bargain.
This is actually the best and most straight forward feature review of this pedal I've seen. Great job MBMH!
You definitely pee sitting down
Thanks for the review. I think I'll probably save up for the big brother. I do see the appeal for the nano from a logistics perspective tho.
Yeah, I think each device is aimed towards different people and/or use cases. Who knows, I may pick up a Quad at some point for at home use.

@@ManBunMetalHead It seems that when I place the Nano Cortex in the send/return loop of the Core, I notice some tone suck from the amps.
quality video. earned my sub

@@orlandoguitarist Yes, I would use Morningstar MC6 Pro for a MIDI pedal. Lot's of TH-cam videos to help with programing and setups.

Will do! I'll take a minute to get a video out, but it'll come. The board is looking sick!

You don't need another piece of gear to make captures with the ToneX (either the big or mini pedal).
Great review but dude you need to talk more normal - reading from a sheet??
Who cares how he talks. He’s getting his point across which is the point of the video.
