- The Tata Safari and Harrier have achieved the highest Global NCAP score for adult and child occupant safety in our #SaferCarsForIndia testing to date.
The Safari and Harrier are based on the same vehicle platform, however the Safari offers a maximum capacity of seven passengers with the Harrier offering a maximum capacity of five. Both models are equipped with six airbags and ESC as standard.

I am a grand vitara user but by looking at this consistency I am going for TATA soon. I am driving from last 7 years, and I am kinda defensive driver, I follow traffic rules, avoid driving at night and never cross 100. These type of things give me slight confidence that nothing will happen, but what if mistake isn’t mine.. I need little more confidence. Thank you TATA and keep making Bharat proud 🇮🇳
You absolutely should sir. We've been proud owners of 2 maruti cars for past 20+ years. but now will be switching to Nexon next year. KITNA DETI HAI sahi hai, but ZINDAGI BACHATI HAI ka confidence zyada zaruri hai

until you go for a regular maintenance and service at service station it isn't as good as Suzuki. I think indian brands have to work on there after sale service which totally opposite from there NCap rating.

Harrier passed it's real test when the giant rock from the landslide landed on it's roof and all the passengers came out safely. May be there should be a test like that in ncap

The previous version was never tested and for a reason. It would not have scored 5 stars. But rest assured it will still be much much better than the matchboxes out there. Enjoy the car....
Oil filter assembly is very close to the brake, accelerate padel in old harrier which can cause leg injury.. thats why not tested..

@@RAJESH-RAWATya that is due to irresponsible parents who drive recklessly, it is a four seater car and a 5 seater with an asterisk, but people thin harrier is a 10 seater car, one should use isofix for infants or toddlers, if they are seated in lap in front they will suffocate due and also crush their skull due to extreme force by opening of airbag, and in back impact with front seat could be fatal.....

WOW! That's a solid 5 stars! Excellent numbers! Better than any car tested so far by GNACP. Kudos Tata! This is big achievement considering the infamous Fiat 2L engine which has rumored manufacturing flaw wherein the oil filter assembly enters cabin when a crash happens and will impact safety. Kudos to Tata’s engineers! Way to go Tata! 😍

This is a new version.. earlier version was not able to score 5 stars. They have reinforced the driver side area in this version..
this is the safest car in india taking into account the points scored by both cars. It probably can't get better than this. Loha aur features dono milenge.
It can, it should & I am sure 5/6 yrs from now Tata will make it even better. Most of the safer cars for India had partial offset front crash test. We also need full frontal. Also the side pole test revealed lack strengthen cross structure. Without sunroof and added crumple zone with connecting B-pillar would have better result in side pole test. Also that roof lamp hitting child mannequin/tets dummy is bad.

It seems like the Kryotech Engine oil filter issue has been resolved with the update. Highest scores so far in the new Protocols. Very impressive work by Tata👍

It's not fixed because when the owner fiat group could not fix it then how come tata motors after all it's just a facelift not a new generation
I'm well aware, when Mahindra was developing the 700, they crash tested the tata twins and I think also the Compass (Compass is unconfirmed) at their own crash test facility. They were themselves having problems with oil filter location and they fixed it with a knee airbag. The variant of 700 I have also has the knee airbag@@commenter2817

Yes this was expected after the update for both the cars. They would have failed to get 5 stars without the knee airbag. Hence Tata didn't send Harrier & Safari earlier for testing.
Gncap uses lower variants for testing and as far as i know lower variants do not have knee airbag

And tata ne pre facelift ko test nahi kiya kyuki tata ko pata tha kii sab jante hai kii safari, harrier kaa oil pump driver side meh hai and agar tata ne uss time sponsored karke 5star Lata tab sab log doubt karne lagta. So abhi facelift meh knee airbag dal diya and sponsored karke 33.05 points le aaya. Aab kisine doubt bhi nahi karega.😛😛😛
