I was unaware of a cancelled movie pitch, but i did hear about the futuristic Zorro movie that is supposedly in the works. I was thinking about mentioning it in the vid.
not only is this an amazing uncovering of a lost game, but it's low key instructional into ways of digging into the internet to find lost data... the way you're showing the steps of your detective work is excellent!
This could've been a snes classic. The graphics still looks amazing, and the gameplay is ahead of its time. Too bad it never had a chance. What a great episode!
Let's see... Irem's springy health bar indicates that someone from Metal Slug's dev team (and Ninja Baseball Bat Man) helped work on this. The art style also matches the arcade version of Hook. Also, this definitely shows how the development process of a movie tie-in game works if the movie's pitch has been approved years ahead of time.
I can never understand what exactly are the legal reasons for developers or anyone not releasing the roms for unreleased games. No one ever explains that.
It has to do with Non Disclosure agreements signed by the employees. It binds them from saying anything to the public about their projects. I do believe there is a time expiration, but it depends on the contract.
@@EvilPixel oh my god ok i knew it sounded familiar, haha. it does still remind me of a certain couple of 80s jpop songs and now i'm wondering if there really is some influence there....

@@EvilPixel but what if the company goes out of business? how thoes that hold up, whats the reason?
@@grk70s Yes, I do think the same. I don't know how someone can be processed if a "rom" leaks accidentally ...lol Release the Snyd... roms please!
what is the song in the background, btw? sounds like an snes version of a yoko oginome track
its the Gerudo Valley theme from Ocarina of time. I though it fit well with the theme lol
