I'm upgrading from a netgear n300 router to the ac1200. I cannot get the ac1200 to connect to the internet. I'm using a cisco cable modem that works just fine with the n300 and I've insured that all cables are plugged in securely. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Ok i have a 1st editon Eero. I replaced it with this router. I pay for 100mbs, i usually get it with the eero but i had a problem with it heating up and turning off. Since i installed this AC1000 i can only get maybe 40mbs. Do i need to do something to get the full 100mbs from it?

Yes, this router has its own WiFi network. In order to connect to the internet, any WiFi router will need to connect to your Home’s internet modem. Do you have a separate modem and router or is it one combined unit? Either way, this router will use the internet connection you currently have and will affect the speed. Buying a router like this one will create a separate Wifi network but you’ll still be connecting to the same internet connection

I know this is an old video but you really should mention that your network speeds depend on your service provider plan. If you are paying for 50Mbps/50Mbps internet, you won’t get higher than 50Mbps speeds. This video seems to say that you will get much faster internet just because you upgrade when in reality, if you are already at your max speed, it won’t get better, it will only improve the speed if there’s room for it, i.e. if you were getting 38Mbps before and now you reach you max 50Mbps

I bought this three days ago. I have set up many routers over the years. This one beats anything I can think of I followed the instructions to a T got wifi on my desktop downloaded the app on my phone. Changed the administrator password filled out all the security questions. But I could never get to the interface on the device to turn on the internet for wireless devices. I tried going in by using the ip address. It wanted me to start all over the process of making a new account. I tried going into the two log in addresses in the manual on my desktop no go there either. I tried using the app and it wanted me to sign up again. I am thoroughly disgusted with the software of the device. It shouldn't be that complicated to setup. I won't be buying anymore netgear routers. I will stick with a much better product like Asus routers or Linksys. Don't these developers know that they software script is not user friendly? By the way on my smartphone it connects to WIFI but I still can’t load up internet. The Netgear genie thing doesn’t even appear for me.also.

This thing is not working for me, at all. All lights are green, I click on wifi, enter default password, says it's connect to the router but not connected to the internet. So I connected the router directly to my laptop with an ethernet cord, still no internet. Phone can't connect either so it's not the laptop. Internet is fine and my old router still works so what's the problem here??? I've spent hours trying different methods, nothing is working. Did a buy a damaged router ( got it brand new at Wal-Mart). So I hooked up the cables and have my modem set but when I turn everything on the Router doesn’t give signal so I can configure the settings. I have the option to connect to the new router but when I do it doesn’t give out signal.
KEEM KapAlot I ended up returning it but for a different reason. When you plus in this new router the only browser you are able to open a neatgear log in page in google chrome. Just type neatgear.login in google and you should be able to access that site.

I have this Netgear ac1200 router, I am logged into it, but my internet router is in the back room and where I want this router is in the front room, I want to conect to my internet, "spectrum" in the back room wirelessly from the Netgear in the front room, there is no cable that will let me move the "spectrum router" up front, so I have to connect wirelessly, which is what I want to do with my Netgear, let it connect to my internet wirelessly and then run ethernet cables from the netgear router to each of 4 computers. or 3 computers and the printer.

The C3700 is a modem and router in one unit. If you already have WiFi, why were you looking at adding another Wifi router?

No you can't. It works as a standard with static or dynamic IP. this is how internet works.
