How to speed hack your Xiaomi pro 2 + 1S scooter - 20 MPH!

In todays video I show you how to change the speed of your Xiaomi scooter. I found that there weren't any really good up to date videos showing you how to do this therefore I decided to make a video of my own. If you enjoyed the video please subscribe.

What firmware were you on when you flashed it? I'm a bit hesitant because I just bought it and might be on a higher firmware that won't work...🤔
Mine is a 1s. Mi app says I'm on latest firmware though I didn't manually upgrade.

Bought a brand new one and installed the xiaomi home app with newest firmware but it actually works thank you very much!!!
I just did it on my pro 2 with the latest version it worked great.
Main reason i did it because Xiaomi took off the cruise control with the last update and me someone who do 20 miles a day for work it was exhausting holding the accelerator trigger down. With this hack the cruise control is back now.

Yeah you're be fine you can use full Sports mode for the 8 miles. You're probably lose 2 bar.
I did 15 miles a week ago 7 of those miles i went full power 19+mph the other 8 miles was on D so about 14mph. I got home with 7% left.

Cruise control is still there in the original firmware, it's just not enabled as standard. Just go into the settings to enable cruise control.

Reaches 32kmh which is 20mph

So, after doing this it’s fun and it still works, got me to 18 mph no issue on more charge I was hitting 20. Issue is the app with disable and with that goes the ability to see your exact charge level even when charging or riding, after a day of exploring and shitting myself I found a fix, you have to delete the scooter off your app and pair them again and it works fine, if you want to remove the speed hack just redownload newest firmware from the app.

Only thing I've noticed is you lose the battery percentage charge indicator when your charging the scooter but still charges just fine.

great to hear its working alright. I never had an issue like that but have had a few others comments with weird things like that happening.
Got mine a couple of days ago, updated to newest firmware, and then tried to install this. Works well. What I do notice though, is that with the latest original xiomi firmware, the scooter is MUCH MUCH smoother when accelerating! This firmware makes the throttle much more twitchy. It's more like just on/off, which I don't like at all. Room for improvement there!

@@lilpenguin8025 app still works. U have to delete the scooter from the mi home app, and add it again to make it work. Not had any issues with the scooter (1s). Only complaint I have is the lack of smoothness on the accelerator with the hack. It's a bit unresponsive with the modified firmware. Almost just on or off.

@@diaryofafounder still using the mod. Have sort of learned to live with the throttle response. The added speed is more important to me. I mainly use it going to work very early in the morning, when there's no traffic, so I just go full power most of the time.

I just unboxed mine, installed newest firmware (didn't know that I should not install it). BUT this works, mine goes now 30-32kmh. so this thing works with newest firmware aswell! thank you very much!
Im unable to connect to my scooter through the m365 downg app. It says “connecting” and the scooter makes a beep sound but eventually it says “Device: not connected”. Any tips?
@@dimitriosrigas1172 Well I'm not quite sure what you should do, my app asked to press power button on my scootter to "accept" the connection.

I have just changed the firmware on my scooter it is a Pro 2 and it has been updated when unboxed the firmware available here works perfectly mine now does 20 mph 23 mph down hill. The downg app has now been updated on play store still works just as good.

Worked for me for my pro 2 with the latest firmware. ( not my phone, only borrowed for this. I’ve got IOS)
After: -
-31km/h top speed i S mode
-no KERS
-can not connect with xiaomi app
-it dosent show when you charging it ( shit myself for a sec) but its charging and you see when it charged a full bar.
I definitely think it is still worth it 😉

So the app doesn’t work with it after the hack? So you have no line of sight on battery life? I’ve literally just got mine and keen to flash it but want to understand any downsides.
It worked for me on another software when i deleted my scooter from the app and connected back again
I started doing it, using the link you provided, but then it came up with "your device is a pro2 and a firmware for m365 is loaded. If you continue you risk bricking your device." Are you sure that's the download for the pro2? Or should it be a different firmware download?

Noooooo, why, now your distance is limited by an extraordinary amount as the xiaomi mi essentials battery has less of a capacity than the 1s or the pro 2.
Will my 1s get more power uphill with this? Thats my main issue really. Just bought it and kind of expected more from it.

It might be because you’ve only got the 1s. I’m having a lot of people say that they’re not able to go any quicker than 18 mph on the 1s. Might be because of the smaller battery and motor.

Hey @josh jones. Thanks for the tutorial! I've got a Pro 2 and when I tried to load the software, I got an error that the software is for the M365 and not the Pro 2. The app says that this might brick my scooter. Do you perhaps have a specific software file for the Pro 2? Thanks!

When the down g check vers you can see esc 155 it has and tha neaning is for pro 1 or the first 2 fuse xiaomi with new china display and use Gonkad 155! So better don't try if you have pro 2 because the esc cannot be 155 if it use 223, 224 or other
Mi 1s with me 85 kg weight is normally going 23 on sport mode but i will install external battery so can travel longer distance is prrety good scooter

No it doesn’t charge faster and no problem.
Remove scooter from app , re add scooter , DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE

Sorry for the slow reply, u can speed it up but still use it at the original speed at the same time as eco will be your new slow mode and sport will be quicker. I have found it takes about 4 miles off and i have the pro 2. All the best

Hello, thank you for the video! Had no idea this was possible. I got my 1S a few days ago, and I followed the manual (like the fool I am) and updated the firmware. Now when I start the downg app and connect to the scooter, there is no CHECK button in the upper part in the middle. There is one button which I cannot push which says, CAMIBLE. What does that mean? I can access the tools to turn on the rear light and such, and check the battery, but no check button. I cannot connect to the scooter through the Xiaomi Mi Home App either anymore, the bluetooth sign turns on when I connect through the app, but says that it cannot connect. Did a hard reset on the scooter (barkes, throttle, power) and now I can add the scooter again through the Xiaomi app but cannot check the version in the DownG app. Excuse my long comment, and thank you for your time!
Try and now update the scooter through the xiaomi app. If that work then delete the app off you phone and start the process again

So i got the s1 yesterday and i flashed . All worked but i now find out that the new s1 goes 20mph out of the box (woops) so i dont need to flash BUT now i have the same problem. I see bluetooth going to on but scooter can not connect (trough mi home app) downg still connects.. the hard reset doesnt work how do i get the original firmware back?

Yeah it’s still working and I’ve had no problems in the previous six months using this software. you can pretty much just install this software straight out of the box and use it with no problems. You may only lose xiaomi app connectivity.
@@joshjones6501 I’ve done it and reconnecting to the app still works. Thank you so much for this. For people trying to reconnect to the app with this hack your supposed to delete the connection you had before with the old software by holding the scooter icon in the app menu then deleting. After you will need to click on connect to new device then search for it and connect like you did when u first got the scooter.

@@jackreynolds146 yeah super easy I did it accidentally on my pro 2 today because I reconnected to the app but I updated the software which made it go back to the original version so make sure to press x on the update pop up. I’m gonna have to rehack it now.
@@jackreynolds146 u can also just download the original software which is on another video but for me hard resetting and updating using the app worked, I’d rather have it hacked but there was an issue which is very minor but the battery percentage was stuck on 97% it wasn’t really stuck it just wouldn’t go to 100 because it was already on 100 it was just showing me different numbers but it’s not damaging just confusing

hey josh is there a software you can recommend that lets you customise the speed you want the scooter at, personally 20 is too fast but 15 is a little on the slower side, what would you suggest?
i would sugest u drive slowly so no need to try bypassing system

Does it effect battery much and also can you take it off aswell and will have same range as before hacking it
it will have slightly less range but you can use it in a slower speed mode to get your normal range back because the eco mode when hacked will be the same speed as the sport more when not hacked.

You need to make it yourself. Just buy a couple of batteries, connect them together and connect the whole thing into the scooter

@@neilmacdonald9380 if you try and reinstall the firmware a second time and give it another go. If that doesn’t work then Reset the scooter making sure that you do not updated and re-install the firmware.

Awesome bro especially with the hack. Sounds not alot but it surely does fly . Huge difference. I bricked one after 2days with flashing different app n firmware from down g then xiamo flasher app. Beware don't flash ble. 074. Zip 1.2 or 3 mate. Bricked 2nd pro 2 with first firmware update but bricked again on ble. Halfords not happy with me only just got refund with causing a scene but it was my 2nd pro 2 in couple of days like. 🤣🤣😎😋

You would have to change the voltage which can damage the battery, thats why i haven’t made something like that yet.

Thanks for the video, speeds are great now. Only thing I’ve noticed is the battery regenerative braking is no longer working, any idea how to get that working again even though it’s set to High?
You would need to try another software altogether as this one will not support that option on some of the scooters.
Josh, do you have any recommendations for software that will support regenerative braking?
Look this thing is actually working but this will low the engine power besides 25 km is perfect for me if u need a faster scooter u can search other brands

Delete the previous scooter in the app then repair it with your bluetooth. But you won't be able to access it since it asks for a Password...

Hi Josh. Just bought a Xiaomi Mi Pro2 M365 from Halfords the other day. I Can't upgrade this hack due to the configuration showing DRV224 not 1.5 as yours does. Do you have any suggestions how to get round this please? I've had a look around the net I think the firmware needs to be changed which seems complex. Thanks.
I didnt need to do it so im not too sure. You could try using a different app or firmware or try creating a custom firmware.

@@el0796 My hack that Josh recommended worked ok. I think you need to go back to Xiaomi app and restore factory settings. I did this when trying other apps that didn't work before this one.

Hi there. Is it same for every one with the flash, you do not see the battery percentage when its charging??? (I have a 1s)
Does it cause the scooter to stop working in certain areas for example making the headlight not turn on when asked etc or is everything the exact same after the hack or is there and slight consequence we have to pay
Everything should work as normal on the scooter but a few parameters are changed. These are the amount of pushes you need to start the throttle which will be reduced and the amount of time you need to hold the throttle to turn the cruise control on which is also reduced. Otherwise everything is the same

Just use it to install the firmware on to the scooter and then you can get rid of the app.
This worked easy and straightforward for me thank you ! Only downside is I have lost connection to the mi home app is that supposed to happen? I've also read about using the GONKA files how do these files differ possibly from the ones you have links to ?
The guy said he used the GONKA files and has had no issues for over a year. Have you been riding your flashed scooter for some time without issues ?
Delete your scooter off the app and add it again, should work

Btw if u do this ur warranty finishes, if u have downloaded the software and want to delete it to get ur warranty back, just factory reset it, to do this just type it on yt!

It didn't work for me. First, the app says that the firmware is not compatible with my 1S scooter, it would only be for the M365. Top speed remained at 25km/h in sport mode. Could it be because my original firmware was already up to date?

@@dontreadmyprofilepicture1485 nah it’s fine once you do the hack you don’t need the android and to change it back to original you will need your iPhone and use the mi home app but to return to original you need to delete the scooter on the app first any more questions please ask
