Forum searches helped me narrow down my issue to a bad fuel pump in my 2009 F800GS. Your video was spot on and helped me tremendously in determining part numbers and order of operations. Many thanks, Ace!
@@tonymctony Not exactly. It initially started when the bike didn't want to maintain idle on warmup and would stall. After getting it warm, it would stay running but eventually it would stall out, regardless of throttle position.
Well done video..removed any mysteries about the why and how AND the results of changing out the fuel pump, even giving the PN..very helpful! The distanced mic soundtrack was a bit hard for my 73 y/o ears with too many years of loud racing pipes and sirens, (retired 1st responder, not an outlaw being chased 🚔), but the CC helped me understand everything clearly..ThanX for a great video, brother!
Hi, my name is Anastasiya, I'm from Russia, I have f700gs and I love it. Thank you for your video, it looks really easy, so I don't scarry now to do it my self))
Turns out this solved the stalling issue on my F800GS, I have seen some people recommending the Bosch fuel pump. It turns out it happened to be a Bosch fuel pump that I removed!
On my 2011 it was the fuel pump controller that was goosed. Then the plastic body of the tank cover developed a tiny crack that started leaking fuel as it made it's way up from the tank. JB weld on top and bottom of the area. All good now. I also changed the pump and filter while I was trying to solve the stalling issue.
Good movie Ace, thanks! We have this problem but we're on a big trip. Currently in Indian Himalayas, we hope to be able to still ride it to New Delhi. Let's see if we can get a new fuel pump here fast. 😅
A much easier procedure on these bikes is to just remove the barb from the pump lid by removing the two screws. It will then pull off. There are two o-rings that make a seal between the barb and the lid.

Thank you for the props Charles! Happy riding!
Was your issue - stalling when releasing the throttle after riding for a while?

Thank you for the props! I know I need a better audio set up if I am going to make more vids.... LOL Happy riding!

Glad to hear you are back up and running!

Sounds like an amazing trip! Let me know if this solved your issue.
Probably want to replace your fuel filter at the same time. The OEM fuel filter is a MAHLE KL 315.
Not sure if it fixed my issue, but thank for the video. Very helpful, but I had issue disconnecting the fuel line on top.
How do you remove the strainer? I would have liked to have seen that part because I can't for the life of me see how
Hi mate
I have a jerking problem in my gs adv 2016
Fule pump is the same like your one. Can you recommend a replacement of the whole fuel kit?
Thanks
TIP: Use silicone spray or brake cleaner on the fuel line, spray inside fuel line, to make it slide right on. Plastic barbed connectors break easy.
