When I was growing up, I had a copy of this poem framed and hanging on the wall of my bedroom. It was something that I could look to when I felt like I had lost direction or I questioned my place in the world. I still adore this poem.
The last line still jars, even though I know it was written by Rudyard Kipling for his own son. None of the preceding lines refer to gender. The last line means maturity, but it says manliness. How about replacing the last line with: "But, why not leave some time for fun?"

Hey! We are glad you liked it!!!
Beautiful.

Nice that "he" is dressed in a suit and tie. Rudyard didn't say "and IF you can dress like a lawyer...".
A better woman too.
Nini Fire, yes, but, you come second and will always be an underling.
"You'll be a woman my son." doesn't quite have the same heartfelt meaning to it.
