Funny story about my daughter when she graduated from her crib to a bed at 2 yo… first night, she kept getting out of her bed/room. After 2 or 3 times, her dad & I shut ALL of the lights off and hid when she came out to the living room… she was so shocked and went straight back to bed and never did it again. 😂 She is turning 23 next week and doing great!

For a child to never cry , just isn't normal. They all do it for a multitude of reasons no 2 are ever the same.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I don't know why people would say that about crying. I thought at this age is when they do the most crying. They want to communicate and can't so they get very frushtrated. Great job dad.

I find it hard to believe that anyone would have the nerve to say negative things about your boys. It's the number 1 unwritten rule of all polite society....kids are off limits! How dare anyone critisize. That really upsets me Crandall.
And for the record, your boys are awesome. They cry....OMG...all kids cry! Adults cry too. It's normal, it's healthy. It's how our babes tell us that something is not right. They don't have the words. You and Marcy are teaching your boys to be good, decent young people, and all of these moments are the building blocks to the men they'll become. You're doing great! Don't let anyone make you feel 'less than'. We need more parents like you two. We make mistakes, we move on.
My husband said one time to our son (at age 2) in frustration, "Why don't you act your age?"...LOL. We both started laughing. I said to him "He is acting his age, and so are you!" Haha over 30 years later we still laugh about that one. Don't sweat it you guys, you're going to make mistakes, you're going to second guess yourselves. I'm sure all the YT 'noise' is hard to ignore, but just carry on.
Your life, your decisions, your mistakes/failures, your successes and wins! Just because you choose to share parts of your lives on socmed this way, does not make it our business. Set your boundaries when the need arises, speak up. Negative comments about your children are definitely a no-no. Sorry...didn't intend to ramble....forgive an old(er) lady.

The thing to realize is you are working on “your” schedule not somebody else’s!
You are working on what you are used to, not what somebody else did.
Transition is always hard when you have toddlers and three times is hard when you have two of them. Lol.
So never apologize, you and Marci were used to being together all the time to help each other.
Now you have to adjust something else. Do it your way and never worry about what other people think please.
You both are doing such a wonderful job with the kids. You’re open to suggestions, but don’t let anybody ever tell you you’re not doing it right. Only you as parents of your children’ know what’s right. 😘

Just a thought from a tip I got from the show "The Nanny". Every time they get out of bed, you go in and put them back in it. It may take awhile when you first start but eventually they will get the message that they have to stay in their beds. It's maybe worth a try and it can be really tiring when you first start. She also suggests that you sit in the room, not saying anything to them, until they get used to it. 😁❤

First i'd like to say this. No one has any right to dictate errors in yours and Crandals parenting with your children ever. You know them better than any of us could. These comments you read are just opinions on what worked for those parents who shared their experiences. There is never a right way to parent, period and if some one wants to mount that pedastal then be prepared to fall. Never tell someone they're doing it wrong. I am very opinionated regarding those who think they know it all and will call yas out in a heart beat. Yes that's me. One day I'll share an experiece. That being said.... All you can do is keep going in and putting them in their beds saying night night. Be sterner and serious but try not to laugh. They will test you like crazy now because they will think it's a new game with mommy. So no game face and giggles mommy and daddy lol. It's like potty training, practice makes perfect. ❤❤

Marci like l said yesterday. Put him on your bed. You get on your tummy, and slide off your bed feet first. Teach him how to do it. My California King was super high. I taught my son to do it when he was a baby. Only took 1 try!! It will work. He was only crawling.

I worked part one nights and my husband mostly worked 16 hr days. We had two very young kids. You just have to adapt and do what you have to do. Also, I believe they make plug in covers for cords that lock so kids cannot pull the plugs out, nor can they play with the outlets. Maybe find some of those and the boys won’t be able to unplug everything. Let me know if you buy them and it works!

I know I had to adjust my schedule as they grew older and went through those changes, which included a 30 min quiet time reading books, playing quietly in their crib with a special nighttime toy, listening to lullaby magic lullaby songs, watching Good Night Sleep Tight music video, and telling quiet poems and stories while they were in their bed All these, while they were in their bed. I could never have done it without those good night tools, and they were very successful helping me get they quieted down in preparation for sleep time. I love listening to quiet music with them and it takes au my night time stress as well. Oh I had a special totem of quiet interactive books and toys only for quiet bed time. They really looked forward to those.

You guys are great parents the boys will soon learn to go to sleep when you put them to bed but it will take time . I had a friend that was a builder and he took the door off of the bedroom and replace it with a half door and the handle was on the outside so they couldn't open it . There is no right or wrong way of raising toddlers but you guys are doing great. The only other thing you could try is put one in first and wait until that twin falls asleep and then put the other one to bed next. You will workout whats good for you,.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Your routine is your routine-whatever it looks like-that is what the kids are used to so any deviation can upset their schedules. Add in teething and new beds-good luck, it can be brutal. There were times when I had to use the “Mom” tone so they knew I meant business-especially if it would save them from danger. It was used rarely so they took it seriously and listened immediately. Because of shift work the majority of the work was on me. My oldest had to move to a bed at 18 months so his brother could have the crib. Took him 2 weeks to figure out he could get out by himself LOL.

    ok where will I start
first Marci go with the standard white tiles - subway tiles will be way better the colours . this way you can change the room decor to anything you want. if you stay with different colours you limited to your choices. also when or if you go to sell the home then buyers will lean more towards homes with neutral decor// you can change the direction of which way the tiles go - such as making it into a herring bone design or ?? you might want to check out patterns to make with those tiles
also looking into a local church or homeschooling groups in your area, once you start with them you might not want to place your kids in a normal school,
for the dog = my husband says he is amazing with those kids -having them throw the ball and returning it / dropping it to do it over and over again . great job for getting him in an amazing dog school
Marci try not to leave the kids allowen in the house or in a warm car , its dangerous in general,
also Marci you need to get out of the house more and get with other mom's your age group to help talk about life.

I have grand twins going on Five in August. My daughter moved in with 4 kids. Our twins are girls. Yours are Angels compared to mine. We couldn't keep them in separate bed and they fought. We started giving them consequence if they get out of bed. It helped for awhile. A camera is an excellent idea, but you got to keep on it. It's like a milestone you got to cross. And it's not fun. They wore us out.

Teething is tough on kids they run fevers through up pain in mouth and tummy it is tough no wonder they are cranky. I use to use a wash cloth soaked in clove water and freeze it for my sons to chew on it nubs their gums and eases the pain.

I really enjoy the boys. When you were in the store the boys were really cute. They learn by example from their parents. I never had a problem putting my son down for naps so I think your problem is they are both together. That would make the difference. 😵‍💫🥴🥱❤❤❤

Yep leave the boys once you put them into bed. No need too talk to them. If they sleep tog. its not a problem, as long as they are safe and happy.

It is a huge adjustment, you have both been home 24/7 since the twins were born, divide and conquer. Crandall being gone means it is 1:3, ugggh. Good luck, it is only for a season.

We see just a snippet from your day and if there's a child crying some people think that's all they do. Usually we see about 20-25 minutes out of your 24 hour day. I don't get it. You're probably right about the reasons people say those things.
