    I spent an hour on this lab until I came to your video which helped me figure it out in 8 minutes. The lab had the wrong source IP when configuring telephony on the router. SMDH! I was using the data vlan DFG. Thanks a bunch! Great video!!!

    FYI, when using Packet Tracer, if you hold the control key down when selecting the straight through cable, you will not have to re-select it each time you make a connection.

    Absolutely amazing video.
    Thank you.
    Just incase someone is trying out the video in packet tracer and wonder why it is promoting them to configure the MAC address, I learnt from a few people in the comments section that we simply have to plug out the power supply to the phone and plug them in again. Do this twice and wait for the phone to be registered.
    Repeat the same procedure for the other ip phones after typing the button 1:n command.
    Great video! 👏🏾

    If you get the Need to configure ephone MAC address or VM station-Id error, just unplug your ephone as soon as you get the error. Make sure that both of the link lights turn red. You might have to unplug it twice. Once both are red just power your ephone back up and wait for it to register, then move on to the next ephone and repeat this process until you’re done with all three of them.

  • @leorudolph5707
    @leorudolph5707 ปีที่แล้ว

    During DHCP configuration of the phones, the router is supposed to get the MAC address of each phone. If this fails, you get an error saying to enter the MAC address.
    The one required is the VLAN1 MAC you can see placing the mouse over the phone in the Topology.
    Another option is to unplug the power on all phones. Plug only one, and wait for it to get the IP address from the router. When the phone register, you should be able to ping the IP of the phone.

    Just some constructive feedback is all, other than that, good way to show how to get basic IP Telephony working without using Communications Manager. A lot of people may be asking how you configure DNs that stick to the device. Is there a way in the Cisco IOS to fix a DN to a particular device based on MAC address? Or is that more of a CUCM feature?
