Is it a poor mans forklift? It could easily be used as a full size motorcycle lift by adding a plank perpendicular to the forks. As it sits it will hold mini motorcycles, full size snowblowers, mowers, generators, truck axles etc. I've been very pleased with it over the years.

nice, l have a small lift table like that but the fact that that one can lift pallets too, id prefer yours.
They come in handy. We both need bigger shops so we can get bigger lifts.

I just got one of these yesterday off of Facebook yard sales. It is the 3300 pound lift model. Paid $75 for it and it weight about 300 pounds. I was thinking of putting a metal plate on it but after a little thought I plan to put my projects on open bottom pallets. I picked up a few of these pallets and if I have to wait for parts on that project I can just set it down until parts come in and I can work on other projects. I also thought of putting the project on a regular pallet and put that on top of the pen bottom pallet. That will also raise the project about 4 inches and that will reduce some bending. I have forks in my tractor so I can just move the finished job right on it’s pallet to where I will store it or put onto my truck when I sell the finished project. The open bottom pallets I have are plastic so the regular pallets will easily slide around to get at where I need to work on the project. I like your large plywood top also, especially getting things off of the truck. My truck bed is a few inches higher than the pallet when it is full height so the extra length of the plywood bridges the height very nicely. Thanks for your very informative and well done videos. I was driving in Chicago many years ago during the winter when I noticed something sticking out of a snow pile under a bridge. After a quick second look, I knew immediately it was a pallet jack. Made a quick u-turn stopped my van and threw it in the back.
Like you said, these are very handy around the home or shop and mine has been very busy doing a variety of tasks for many years (I even dropped a transmission out of my van with this pallet jack).
A junk man at heart. I find things under bridges and left in ditches all the time.
I love it. That tool is a back saver and couldn't be more handy. Especially being mobile.

I bought a regular pallet stacker, not a scissor lift. But a very similar thing. it can hold 1 ton at 140cm, enough to unload and load pallets into a truck or van. However, I quickly realized that it is actually a great mobile lifting workbench :D And I use it more as a workbench than for pallets haha.
I just remembered, I also have a skid steer (AKA: Bobcat). A few years ago, the drive-chain broke while I was using it down the block from my home. After trying to figure out how I would get it home, I remembered my pallet jack. That baby lifted my 2,900 lbs skid steer with no problem and I simply pulled it home easily. Having the right tool for each job is sure great!
That's a great story. You have one of those small skid steers. That's a great tool.

I have a lift that I made from the undercarriage of a recliner, the ones that have a electric lift to help people get up and out of it !
The chair was being thrown away so I took the chair part off and changed the lift part so it would go up and down level ! It would originally go up and down at an angle but with just switching two of the bars it now works at level. It's rated at three hundred pounds but I've had as much as four hundred on it and it has no problem with it! For loading and unloading stuff out of my pickup it has been a major back saver, I've had way too many back operations and don't want anymore ! 😊

I wish that I had taken some pictures of it when I still had it but I didn't and one of my sons has it now.
I've gotten old and crippled up so much nowadays that I can't do much of anything so I've been giving away a lot of my stuff to my boys. In the last year I've spent more time in the hospital than out so my " THINGS " are going to them!
If you come across one of those chairs take a look at it and you'll see what I was talking about. They are very expensive when new but most people get rid of them when the chair part wears out ! 😊
I have a van wheelchair lift right now I'm thinking of re purposing. It has a 3x4ft platform that slides horizontal out of the van door and then drops to the ground. It would be nice to adapt into the bed of a truck or similar.
I like it. I don't have that toy, but I do have a tommy lift on the back of my one ton truck !! Gotta love hydraulics !!

Thanks for the idea. Found one about a year ago. Love it. I put 1/4" steel on it and bolt it down. Mine 4×5. I use it for riding mowers and fourwheelers. Biggest thing I have had on it was 150cc hammer head go cart. I got hurt a few years back and this makes it so much easier for me so I don't have to pick things pull or get on the ground. Nice find for a garage sale. I only see the battery operated ones on trucks now. They don't work the best in sub zero weather. For that matter the lift gates don't either. I have gone out at a store I worked for more than once to get them going so the load could be dropped. Now I don't like working outside in sub zero either but I have flesh and blood.

This was a lucky day. I actually looked at it, figured it was a typical pallet jack and walked away. The guy called me back over to show me how cool it was and I couldn't load it into my truck fast enough.
@@sixtyfiveford , i know that situation. we found a couple of adjustable height beds in a skip bin outside an old peoples home. i walked off thinking how it had no use to me. my mate called me back to check out how the pedal raised and lowered it. that was enough! into the back of the 1 tonner. it also tilts and has a drain. dont know what that feature is for so we christened it the autopsy table. anyway we unloaded it at my place and my mate was wishing we'd grabbed the other one for him. so back we went. his is electrically operated. we havent found practical uses for them yet. it doesnt matter - the mechanism of how they rise and fall is clever.
soon as I saw it knew what it was; used one years ago every day. great purchase and great piece of equipment lots of uses in the shop....good stuff

Back in the early 90's I worked at a Lawn and Grarden equipment shop. We had air operated lift tables. Never seen a pallet jack that goes up that high before.
Air powered would be nice.

Hey Mr. 65 Ford, just want to let you know that I watch all your vids and always leave a like. I just can't leave a comment while watching through my TV. So when I finally get on the computer I will comment. LOL. That's a cool and very handy pallet Jack! Would have come in handy to possibly lift my 900lb safe off of the moving truck. It took 3 guys to lower it onto a rolling flat dolly with a couple of ratchet straps and then carefully down the ramp.
I bought a huge 1000lb+ safe years ago from an estate auction for cheap. Catch was I had to move it out of the house without damage. I ended up calling a locksmith who offered safe moving and for $150 they came out with the coolest electric dolly I've ever seen and moved it out of the house like nothing, put it on a trailer, and transported it. They told me about a lot of neat tricks like rolling it around on a couple dozen golf balls to get it in and out of tight areas.

Makes a great shop lift, i did recognize it having used pallet jacks in the past.
This is the first high lift one I've ever come across and didn't even know they made them.
Thinking back to all the heavy things I've needed to get into my truck bed, that thing would be great.
The only thing I wish, is that it was longer to hold a full size motorcycle.
@@sixtyfiveford You could do it diagonally, find a piece of c channel to fit longer bikes, couple bolt holes and you'd be good more than double the capacity of my motorcycle lift.

sixtyfiveford there's some pretty cool material handling stuff out there. I like how these go from 4" off the floor to a good working height.

I had seen this in your videos before and liked he idea. When i moved to my new bigger shop, I bought a Harbor Freight Motor Cycle lift, but put 4" casters on it to make it more portable. With the larger casters, I lost some of the 1000 pound capacity, but I will never have a motor cycle or anything that heavy on it so that's ok. Works great for small engine repair and I have also used it as roll around-adjustable scaffolding in the shop

Great Idea! I too have the HF motorcycle lift but the tiny metal wheels don't roll or maneuver too well.
I like how you put the 4" casters on it! The plywood platform is also a great idea.

Great work table. i built one that can hold an ATV or smaller. i use a boat winck with a series of rollers to reduce the lift force. had I had the opportunity to use one of those.. would be awsome.

If money were no object this would be a sweet option for a wheelbarrow compressor lift.
I have a similar one, except it has a 12 VDC hydraulic cylinder with manual pump as a backup.

That's cool never seen a high lift one like that. Does the hydraulic piston work like an old FM antenna? I don't the how else that piston would fit inside otherwise in order to lower all the way
Yeah, I didn't know the high ones existed before I saw this one. Yes, the piston is telescopic with one piston inside another.

A motorcycle would actually fit diagonally on there with a u-rail or something mounted on there, so that the fork and front wheel can pass the hydraulic cylinder
I love the way you think. I was just thinking the same thing while editing the video. The handle side would block a small portion of side working area, but not bad. I have some large chunks of angle iron I can make do just this.

I have a question can have an old kerosene turbo heater. Can you make it use Diesel fuel in it?
I have run a bunch of kerosene heater off diesel. They are essentially the same thing. Kerosene is known as fuel oil #1 and diesel fuel is known as fuel oil #2. Diesel fuel is just kerosene with waxes added to lubricate a diesel engine. In the winter time most gas stations actually switch over diesel to primarily kerosene or mixture of diesel and kerosene as the waxes will want to gel up in extreme cold. They call it winter diesel. This will run just fine in any kerosene heater.

Yes they are great saws........ I have 2 Beavers in my shop right now..... 1 is mine that a friend brought down from Indiana when he came to stay for the winter, It was his brothers saw that was bought from a yard sale that had quite a few issues, but had to leave all of a sudden when he was diagnosed with cancer...... He gave it to me as a gift....
The other is my biz partners saw we have torn down in a labeled box needing a few parts....... A lot of tech's say they are a PITA to tear down then put back together.... They not that hard if you know the order it goes back together.....
I also have a huge inventory of OLD Mac parts for the BIG saws if you are in the market for some ???

It is now 2019 and about time the USA caught up with the majority of the world and left the other two countries Liberia and Myanmar behind who still use Imperial Measurements and changed to Metric Measurements
You're ranting over the basic non critical measurements mentioned. I understand the frustration as I do just he opposite and have to use a quick Google search to convert critical Metric to Imperial measurements on a random basis. The imperial system is a much harder system to learn but once you know it why forget it and throw it away? I can say "a foot" and 99% of everyone that I meet in person will know what that means and have a close idea of the size. I can say a meter and 5% will know and have a close idea of the sizing. Is a meter more accurate than a yard...No. It's just preference. The entire point of a measurement is to be able to replicate it elsewhere. So I can order 100feet of rope and get exactly that when I tell the guy over the phone. Now if 99% of my population uses Imperial; chances are if I order 100 meters of rope I won't get the correct amount, so it's not easily replicatable. This defeats the entire purpose of a measurement system. You have to use what everyone else knows by heart and uses. The metric system is taught in America, but just like the UK and other countries that once used Imperial, there is a hybrid where you still see common things like Gallons, Pints, Yards, Pounds etc mixed with Liters, Millimeters, Kilograms, etc. Don't get me wrong Metric shines in simplicity as far as converting goes but it makes sense to not change just for the sake of change.
