  • *Special thanks to Bill for letting me visit!*
GoShine built their busy Gluckstadt location in 2020. Like most newer Sunbelt projects, this site has a blackout tunnel, with black wall and ceiling panels and black brush material to enhance the light show and reduce cleaning labor. This location has a 135' Sonny's conveyor, with a TOP2k14 top brush, SFM901 front to back mitter, 2 sets of SF72 wraps, 2 sets of SF21 rocker brushes, second generation grill brushes, TBG300 Poodle and Ninja wheel brushes, a 4 manifold OMNI, 10 producer drying system with Mammoth nozzles, and aTOP2k14 Buff N Dry top brush with Tire Seal machines. GoShine spares no expense on their Diamond Shine and NCS Vehicle Care chemistry, and their top package includes the lava bath, VividPlus tri color, 2 applications of Graphene Xtreme, Ceramic X3, Rain-X, double wheel cleaning, Buff N Dry, and tire shine.

I want to get a membership but I’m scared my paint will be damaged. Will these car washes scratch my paint?

I recommend talking with the manager about your concerns and perhaps they can ease your mind. Alot of R&D goes into the manufacturing of the equipment and chemicals to give the best wash possible without damaging vehicles. Many customers wash their cars daily sometimes multiple times a day without an issue and the odds are low you'd have an issue but I can't tell you for sure nothing will ever happen, because it does. I would again talk to the site manager and find out what they are liable for and see if it's works for you. Hope that helps.

These washes use a closed cell foam material that can’t hold dirt or dust particles and are thoroughly rinsed and lubricated while spinning. They’re safe on any vehicle surfaces.

@@ncautowashes2889 Yes the brushes are safe but the chemicals used have acid in it which eats clearcoats/paint. The chemicals are not safe.

I was worried about the same thing for quite some time but for the most part well maintained car washes should not cause a lot of scratches. That being said even well maintained car washes may leave some very light swirls from the spinning side brushes. To the average person it is not a big deal and pretty hard to see unless you get it in the perfect light. If you have a white/light colored car you probably won't even notice it. I have gone to touchless car washes but they just don't clean as well. The best thing I have found is a brushless car wash that does not have any spinning side brushes. They only have the hanging mitter curtains which don't seem to cause any swirls. This gives you the best of both world because you are don't have the side brushes that may cause swirls, but do still have the cloth mitter strips that provide enough contact to clean the car well. The biggest problem is that there are not many car washes like this. In the Chicago area Delta Sonic is the only car wash I have found to have this system.
