Congratulations! You are a natural for the job! Glad you clarified why Fabric Mart doesn’t show the huge $1.99 sale . Honestly, I just started to purchase online. I purchased from Fabric Mart ( because of your videos) and I was very happy with quality and price. I live in rural Southern Illinois. I am 54 miles to the CLOSEST JoAnns . I have a nearby Hobby Lobby(thank goodness). So I feel blessed that you have introduced Fabric Mart to your subscribers! Thanks
Thanks so much for writing, Mary Beth. 54 miles to a Joann is quite a journey!! I’m glad you have Hobby Lobby, I love them so much more than Joann. But Fabric Mart is my favorite for a wealth of fashion fabric choices and tremendous deals. I’m really thrilled that you’ve been happy with them!😃👍
I look for new videos almost daily and love to “visit” with you. We are currently building a new home and I will have a studio suite all to myself for my sewing, jewelry making, and other crafting interest. It’s so nice to have someone to enjoy sewing with like you! I have a story about McCalls and my mother being featured in one of their catalogs several years ago under Marlo’s Corner, that being Marlo Thomas. Another time, lol Keep the videos coming!!!
I would love to hear that story, Kelly! I should have added that vintage McCall’s are A-OK with me, no problems! Please come back and share. In the meantime, congratulations on your new home!! Wow, that would be a dream of mine. I know it’s a tremendous amount of work and headaches, but in the end it will be worth every hardship. Fantastic!!
Vivmom Sews When I start moving and unpack that McCalls catalog, I’ll send you some pictures. I’m not looking forward to the actual moving process. Where’s that magic wand when ya need it?! 😁
Just had to let you know that, because of you, I made my first trip to FabricMart yesterday. Wow, it exceeded my expectations - and I can’t wait to go back. I made sure to let them know that I was there because of you. The lady who helped me with my new stash gave me a great tour of the place - the fabrics and the deals were amazing. Can’t wait to see what you make first in your new partnership with them. Congrats!
I’m so excited to hear this, Dell! Yay!!👏👏It is so much fun to visit their store. The website is a treat and so is the store. Lovely people and fab deals = happy customers!! I can’t wait to go back, too. I think I’m going to get the side-eye from Brad, though, if I don’t sew up a good chunk of what I’ve got.😬
As usual, I love your pattern reviews and general chit chat though I don't tend to comment. My daughter came in the room and saw you and said, "I love her! I want her to be my friend!" so of course I said, "She's MY friend, but we can share her." LOL You are loved Vivmom!!!
Hey Viv, Congratulations your descriptions of fabrics is so very helpful to buying fabrics online. Especially when your a touchy, feely person like me. Fabric Mart was smart to snatch you up. Now we get to see more of you.😁. I had a problem with a McCalls girls pattern too. The summer top was fine but the shorts were huge . The size 10 looked like a ladies small. Making some school clothes for my granddaughter and there isnt a big selection for girls. Thought what would Viv do? So I checked Etsy and found a 1950s jumper and blouse. Soo cute had to get it. The jumper has a full skirt. A cross over bodice and great big pockets. The blouse comes in short or long sleeves button front and round collar. Granddaughter loves it and requested one in pink of course. Blessings to all my sew sisters.
You’re amazing, biggy! That vintage girls pattern sounds absolutely magnificent. I am so happy your granddaughter loves it! She knows a good thing when she sees it. Whenever a grandma tells me about sewing for her grandchildren I just can’t help but feel happy. And thanks for saying such generous things to me about my new partnership with FM. I’m so excited, and for you to share in that excitement means so much!💕
You look really cute today. I know what you mean about the hand sewing. I actually have a pattern to give away at some point because of that. I don't live in my grandma's time. No hand sewing 80% of the garment.😊 we try to save time not elongate it. I have that cute dress pattern with the eyelet. I like the one with the two pleats in front and short sleeves. Thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding about Fabric Mart and It's sales. I'd really love to go there and shop. Happy sewing. I enjoy seeing all your makes
I am enjoying watching you videos. I thought I would look at the Fabric Mart web page and discovered that I am on there list , so I ordered two bundles to give them a try. I really like the way you show the patterns and material. I have been sewing for a very long time but I stopped . But I never stopped buying patterns and fabric. ( I have a "store " in my basement). You have inspired me to pick it up again. Thanks. Keep up the great work you are doing.
Lovely to hear from you, Terri. And even lovelier to think that you’re feeling inspired to sew again. I was away for years too. It was such a joyous return. Thanks for writing!🌺
Of course we are happy for you. You do a wonderful job of inspiring new sewers to start to sew and not to look for perfection. No one is perfect. I often told my group of ladies that I can learn as much from them as they can from me. I've been sewing for 60 years and can still learn from someone who is just starting and looking at the pattern and material from a different point of view. I loved helping them to learn to sew in their style and help them to see things differently. So keep it up and I will watch on with interest. While some things in sewing is important, with the new fabrics a lot of that has flown out the window. Keep it up.
Not to worry Viv, thank you for your explanation of fabric mark and making the buying process clear to us. Got it!💕💖😊 Totally understand the reason for the difference between the in-store and online fabrics. However, fabric mart still looks like a great resource for fabric. Omg...love your impromptu musical interludes. Love the mccalls 7969 and 7948. Looking forward to seeing your reviews. So cute. I am taking a pants sewing construction course this Fall at a local community college. Will let everyone know how it goes. Thank you for reading and replying to all posts, you are the best,
I am so happy for your new collaboration. You've given me inspiration to start sewing again after many years. I've made seven pairs of leggings, two tops and a dress for my granddaughter as well as four t shirt dresses. So happy to be seeing again! Thanks for the inspiration and fun ideas.
Wow, Maggie, you are tearing it up! Fabulous! Your granddaughter must be enchanted with her new clothes.💕I was away from sewing for years, too, and the rediscovery of it has been so fulfilling. I’m glad you’re experiencing that joy!
Hi: So pleased you have a the new position with fabric mart. I have been looking at their website. I am in Tennessee so I can’t just run by the store. Thank you for all the great information. You have a similar personality of my Home Economics instructor. Thanks again. I am glad I found you.
I had the same issue with McCall's patterns when I sewed in high school. I was hoping the company had improved by now. simplicity always gave me the best results. I would have loved to sew vogue but they were too involved and expensive. Your channel has great content!!!
I just received my FabricMartFabric box yesterday! You are totally responsible! LOL I so appreciate the tips and tricks you've revealed here. I knew that the 1.99 was from your visit! I'm never going to PA so thank you so much. One of the 5+ yards I got was in panels! Now I'm going to have fun in piecing this into a pattern. So cool! It was obvious print placement for a mass produced garment, you can tell because of what seems like a border, but isn't and a random pattern showing somewhere. I just can't wait to see how I can tweak this to work with my patterns, so fun!! So don't turn your nose up at the panels, would love to see you try your hand at doing that!
Yes I checked out the website and I found just one fabric for 1.99. What I was thrilled about is that I can click the matching thread bar along with my order. That is a big help for me and super convenient because it saves a trip just to find a matching thread. It is so interesting to learn about the fabric market industry.
Congratulations on your new endeavor with Fabricmart! You will be perfect for this. You are lucky you can go there and pick out fabrics in person. Love your podcast and your style. I’m just getting back into garment sewing after many absent years. I do a lot of quilting and other fiber crafts. So fun to have podcasts to watch and learn from.
Thanks Viv. My problem is I like too many fiber arts. I love to knit and do this every night. I also enjoy hand sewing and do some appliqué and embroidery. Not enough hours in the day. I’m currently sewing a linen top and enjoying my new Babylock serger. First time for a serger so lots of learning but I am really enjoying it. Do you do any other crafts/hobbies?
Congratulations Viv! 💃I t is all go at the moment by the sounds of things. I hope everything settles soon - all of your and Brad's new undertakings. When you have some leisure and peace of mind to sew, it would be great to see your makes videos. They are my alltime favourite sewing videos. I am having withdrawal symptoms
So agree with your thoughts about pleats at waistline-no! Was planning to go to Hobby Lobby today - thanks for the suggestions. Finishing my topper. Learning how to use hemmer foot on my vintage Singer. Happy Sewing!
I did watch your previous video on the partnership with Fabric Mart and I should have given you some love when it was over but I totally blew it so here is my congrats on the new partnership. We are all so proud of you.
Howdy Vivmom. Thanks for explaining Fabric Mart. I will likely order from them online someday; have seen some lovely fabrics there. Will check out the swatch club. When I think about it, the majority of patterns that have given me BIG trouble have been McCalls! Many of these went out of print, obviously for a good reason..
Thank you for explaining how fabric mart works. I've gone on the site several times and haven't scored once. Used the incorrect areas so now I've learned. Agree with you on McCall's. Back in the day the only gripe I had was they ran a bit large; now my eyes roll back!! The last one I made your voice jumped into my head -- ''I'll do it my way!''. Lol. I'm too old for all that stress/takes the joy out of the project/think I'll skip this pattern sale! Happy sewing!
Vivmom I bust out laughing when you started singing. Lol. I love the pants pattern and I have the blouse pattern. i.m going on Fabric Mart website to check out the sale. Once again CONGRATULATIONS.
Congrats on your partnership with fabric Mart. So exciting! Got 2 blouse patterns at HL ydy. I just don't buy many McCall's patterns. One that I got is a Palmer/Plesch. Never tried it before. Anxious to try it but I have several other things going on right now so it will be a while. Love your top you're wearing today. Your hair looks really pretty too.
I subscribe to Julie’s picks and love touching and feeling actual fabric before buying. You are correct in saying Julie’s Picks fabrics are not available on general website. Don’t own a lot of McCalls. Mostly sew indie. Another great video Viv.
Hey Viv! I’m absolutely over the moon excited about you partnering w/ Fabric Mart. I love them. I bought some of that $1.99 fabric it’s great. I love your videos and you fashion shows are GREAT. Thanks for all you do. Kris
This is wonderful News, VivMom!! So very excited for you and your future with Fabric Mart! I'm so looking forward to seeing future vids! So exciting! Love it!
I am a bit behind with my favourite You tubers, so I missed your exciting news. Well done! What a perfect relationship. They are so lucky to have you and we are so fortunate to see the fruits of this collaboration. I hope you are ok where you are. My father-in-law and his wife are battening down the hatches near Charleston. Take care, and CONGRATULATIONS on your exciting news. Gabrielle xx (Australia)
Hi Viv, interesting info about Fabric Mart as a Jobber. Thanks for sharing that! Congrats on your collaboration with Fabric Mart! You look so pretty as always! Happy Sewing!
Great Viv. thanks for the new video! I knew that Fashion Mart bought up the left overs from designer sews-up and when it is sold out that is it. So I only wait to buy if they have a lot of yardage of a fabric I like. Some times that backfires, so if I really love a print I buy it now! I really like that they list the amount of yardage available.
That info on "jobbers" was super interesting! Thanks for going so in depth on it. Maybe one day I'll convince my husband we should vacation near fabric mart lol. We usually go antiquing in random places for our anniversary but a huge fabric store is a different kind of fun... I hope Mccalls can up their game in terms of instructions soon. Some I've done were great. Some I just had to figure it out without paying attention to the instructions because they made no sense. 😅 Can't wait to see that kimono! I bet it's fabulous.
I love being a member it is so nice to feel and get a close look at the fabric. Fabric Mart is my favorite place as well so happy you are being sponsored yippppeeee
PS. Its funny that your videos appear on the Mcalls reviews even when you didn't mention that pattern. That is really going to broaden your subscriptions!! Way to go girl!
You always look beautiful but today you looked especially pretty. I think it’s your wall color. Wow it just really looks good on you. I never knew what a Jobber was even though I’ve heard of them for years. Thanks for the explanation. Happy Kimono sewing.
I decided to watch your new video on my iPad so I could comment. My smart TV, still don’t know how to comment. I am so happy for you! I knew good things would come to you! Your podcasts are so much fun to watch. I still wish you were my neighbor!😂 I just love your cheerful attitude and outlook on life. Plus, loving to sew is a bonus!
Vivmom, I went to Hobby Lobby last week, and hit the pattern sale. Also the sale clerk told me about the pattern books for sale for 4.oo. I’m like you love to look through catalog.
I had never heard of a jobber before. Now that you explained it, I feel much better about shopping at Fabric Mart. You are an excellent person to be on their team!!
No miss understanding about fabric mart, I thought you explained it beautifully.. I already checked them out, I will def. Buy from them. . I finally finished my topper and posted it, I'm working on another one now 😊
Hi Viv, I have mostly McCalls because I can buy them cheap on the website (in earlier days). Usually, I just plain ignore the directions and do my own thing. Currently am looking for a swatch book for myself - for the colors, not the fabric. Just finished Simplicity S8982, the top with puffy arms and shorter skirt - just love it. Congrats too!
Hi Maren! I love your name. Totally excited about your S8982!! I think Simplicity might be my favorite, right up there with New Look and KwikSew. Well, Butterick is good too, and Vogue always comes out looking great. Oh who am I kidding? I love them all, sans obtuse instructions. I’ll try to open my mind with McCall’s but at the first sign of trouble, I’m going rogue like you!!
Thanks! You know, I’ve had those patterns that gave me fits, and I always thought it was simply my faults in sewing that gave me a poor outcome. I must remember to check out the pattern review site.👍🏼 Interesting information on the “jobber” company. Never heard of that. Blessings!
I used to sew McCall's patterns but lately every one I've made has been a dud. I think that Simplicity has been coming out with some great designs. And recently, someone named Vivmom has gotten me hooked on New Look and Kwik Sew.😊
I am sorry I haven’t watched your fabric mart video yet but a ma excited for your new venture. Don’t we live in an amazing time where you can post videos and make deals virtually?! Lol, these are the sci-fi things that were on shows in the 70’s and 80’s.
Really enjoy these segments. Thank you. Just purchased the M7780 pattern and notice that the TopA photograph looks like it’s cut on the fold, but the pattern shows it is joined down the middle for both the back & front. Interesting. Think I will try it on the fold.
Hey Viv! Great video. I can understand your frustration with McCall's patterns. I've sewen a few duds myself. I really like the first pattern with the puffy sleeves. I'm hoping to make that one soon. Thanks for sharing.
@@vivmomsews4962 that may be. But I have to really work the pattern to get the results I want. 🙄 I agree with you about the hand stitching and lack of instructions with McCall's. It makes for a complicated sewing experience.
Love, Love your top you have on, I feel about the same about McCall's patterns, i rarely read directions until I get myself in trouble from not reading (and that's not often) so if i like a pattern I just sew it my own way and I bet you do too.
You're inspiring me to make a Hobby Lobby trek. I like the dress pattern that was made out of eyelet. It llooks breezy and comfortable. Thx for clarification re Jobbers and good luck with your new relationship with Fabric Mart. Maybe HobLob will come onboard, too. I enjoy your videos so much!!
Once again, love your choices!!! This is NOT a criticism... This is an observation. I love a flounce! You have made a few outfits where what I would expect to be like a flounce, looked like a ruffle. My idea of a flounce is much shorter than a ruffle. Would love your comments on this observation. Thanks! What a great channel! Fabric Mart is wise to have you.
I like a flounce and a ruffle, and they’re definitely not the same thing. I used to really hate gathering ruffles but now I’m into my gathering foot - I figured out how to make it work by ramping up the tension. Flounces can be difficult, they’re cut in the round and attached carefully with no gathering. I always have either the flounce itself or the piece it attaches to be the wrong size.🙄Then I have to alter one or the other. I think I’d choose ruffles over flounces, but they’re both good. I almost always do what the pattern tells me to do. I added a ruffle to the bottom of my swimsuit material pullover dress (I wore it to Fabric Mart in July 2019), because I love ruffles at the hemline. Thanks for your interest, C!😃
@@vivmomsews4962 No surprise you would love both! Live life to it's fullest! Finally... I also like a good bow or two here and there as well! Like a good french pastry. To me, your channel is like a creme brulee for the eyes! Hehehe!
Hi Sharon, thanks! Pattern number was onscreen and in the description box. I sewed this top out of a 180 gsm rayon jersey from an Etsy store...can’t recall which one. Pattern is simplicity 8557 (I think? Double check because if I exit to check the # my message is lost) - the capsleeve tunic that goes together in a wink. Love that pattern, I want to sew more views!
It's gotta be in the air - maybe Dorian is spreading the Hobby Lobby McCalls virus around. I just went yesterday and got 9! I love that cold shoulder top you got - I may pick that one up as I have to go back for another copy (smaller sizes) of one I got. I love the eyelet dress, but as usual I want to see it made up before I grab it. And I think I know what you mean about McCalls and hand sewing. One of my August fails-has-to-be-reworked dresses was put together in the craziest way - didn't make any sense at all! Also thanks for the tip on trims being on sale. I could use some fold-over elastic.
🧵✂️ ♥️ Thank you sew much for the mention and including a link to my channel. You made my day! 😁 I have to agree with you when it comes to McCall's. They typically have really cute designs, but I have also found their directions to be less than stellar. And handsewing?! I'd rather not! Let's hope the yoke in the pants help with the pleats. Pleats in pants rarely seem to look right (puff!). Also, I appreciate your explanation on what a jobber is. How fun would it be to be a jobber and buy all the fabrics? ☺️
Viv, Thanks for the info & showing us your patterns. I hope you don't have any problems with the process. Oh, I refuse to wear pleats on anything ever again. My number one rule is: Do not accentuate the Negative!!!!!! Take care & God Bless.
I find their website confusing too, it's way too busy for one. I usually do a search, on there, only putting the pattern number in the search bar and then clicking the button that says everything and choosing pattern reviews and then click search. That will bring up a list of patterns with that number. Look for the brand in the results and you'll see the reviews for that pattern. The classes they have on that website are quite expensive compared to Craftsy/Blueprint.
Viv, I don't know if I said it before , but I don't think there is a person more fit to be the ambassador of that store than you. That pants pattern with a yoke is the one I used in my challenge wide leg. I modified it and took away the zipper and the pockets, and the pleats became gathers :)) The fabric is too busy and it doesn't show all these ...but I loved the yoke laying flat on my belly and I am going to make other pants like those in a light solid revealing color. I am working on a cardigan from McCalls now and I don't have difficulties with the pattern so far except for some mistake that I made. There is a lot of hem sewing ...iron the hem 5/8th, open it again, iron back in the raw edge , lol...They should have a name for that ..like "McCalls hem"
Thank you, Cat, so much!! It means a lot to have you behind me. And well done on your McCall’s experiences! You’ve tamed the beast! I hope it continues and that some of your success rubs off on me!🙏
I just uploaded the video on my 10 I purchased but now I have to go back a get those pants!! 😀 I know they won’t flatter me but I have make them for some reason. I hope you share your make of them too.
I have the eyelet dress pattern. It's so cute! But someone I know make it and said she loves the dress, but had to adjust the neckline as it was too tight. Happy Sewing!
Thank you for all the info you give. Now, I'm puzzled how to use the pattern review site to check their opinions. How do I do it? I know your busy but help would be appreciated. Love your videos, your personality but especially your enthusiasm! I haven't been able to sew since March due to illness but your videos give me hope! See, I bet you didn't know you help others without knowing it! Thanks again from a sewer in northern Minnesota (getting ready for winter coming shortly!)
Hi! In the search field, simply put the pattern company and number and in the drop down box, select reviews. You can then click on each individual review and see pictures and the sewer’s information regarding the pattern. I hope this helps!
I love your videos. If they have a swatch catalog, how do they have the fabric around so long? You don't have to answer, just thinking outloud. It might be helpful for me to get it, because I'm just getting back into sewing and need a little help learning about fabrics. Funny I was watching as I am making my topper. Literally "under my needle". Lol. See your next video soon.💙👌
Great info thank you. I couldn’t help just staring at your top, it’s fabulous and for once you didn’t talk about what it was!! The material really suits you. Congratulations again but don’t get too serious on us 😉😊
Thank you for the clarification on Fabric Mart. I had looked for some of the fabric you showed and wondered why it was not listed under the $1.99 fabric. I was near a Hobby Lobby today so stopped in and got 3 McCall patterns and one piece of knit fabric with my 40% off coupon. This store is 70 miles from my home so have to stop when near one.
I usually stock up the full 10 pattern limit at hobby lobby and today I "only" (haha!) got 8. But after seeing your vid there are two you got that I was on the fence about, now I'm kicking myself that I didn't just get them! I mean technically I can still go back for them and be at an honest 10! Haha things I stress about!
Hi Deb! Let me look through my books and find some good beginner patterns. I promise to be back. I wouldn’t keep it to just one brand (well, they’re all owned by CSS Industries now, but good beginner patterns can be found in Vogue, Simplicity, Butterick, New Look, Kwik Sew...notice I left out McCalls. I’m so mean to them!) Anyway, watch this space tomorrow for some ideas!
Hi Deb, I’m back. I’m going to give you some New Look patterns that are ultra-beginner friendly. I recommend that you choose your size by the FINISHED bust measurement (or for pants, the finished hip measurement.) You can nip in or out at the waist as needed. This is my method for size selection, and it may not work for everyone. Try a simple top to see how it works for you. Wishing you all the best!! (Note: other brands have perfectly great beginner patterns too. I focused on New Look because I found quite a few and I tend to like them.) New Look (NL) 6597 - dresses NL 6449 - the knit pullover dress; I have a construction video up for it NL6352 - dresses NL6543 - tops NL6434 - tops NL6519 - separates NL6378 - toppers NL6517 - separates NL6415 - knit tops *remember when choosing a knit size, the finished bust measurement will be smaller than yours. That accounts for the stretch factor. You can decide just how tight or loose you want your knits to fit.😃
Vivmom Sews Thank you so very much! I can’t wait to get the patterns and try them out. I really appreciate the time you took to specify these. You’re the best! 😀💖
Hey Viv, welcome to the world of affiliate marketing. It is so easy to think one thing and learn another right away. I recommend that when ever you show a haul from the store that you always mention that those fabrics are not on the website or you're going to get more comments like those. I am so excited for you and your new venture with fabric mart! Hopefully it does not become a job and you lose your Passion for what you do. They will probably do it like Mood sewing and give you a fabric allowance per month. Other bloggers that do that always seem to have to mention that the fabric they made their garment out of is gone and then point their readers toward a similar fabric. You will get the hang of this I am sure!
Just a shout out to say how much I appreciate your time and effort in make the videos. So happy for you and your partnership with Fabric Mart. Looking forward as always to your next video. I hope to start my topper today.
Congratulations! You are a natural for the job!
Glad you clarified why Fabric Mart doesn’t show the huge $1.99 sale . Honestly, I just started to purchase online. Thank you for reading and replying to all posts, you are the best,
Love, love your top. It's so pretty and becoming!
Your hair looks extra nice today Viv. Never knew what a jobber was. Good luck with your collaboration. Can't wait to see where it sends you. 🥂🤸♀️🙏❤😘
Welcome Kathleen! I’m glad you’re here.😃
I had the same issue with McCall's patterns when I sewed in high school. I was hoping the company had improved by now. simplicity always gave me the best results. I would have loved to sew vogue but they were too involved and expensive. Your channel has great content!!!
Simplicity is my fave!
eileen parker I'm hooked on PDF patterns. Best instructions ever. I get the AO files printed at PDF Plotting.
I don’t have a lot to say except you’re the very best. I love watching you!
Wow, Susan, thank you!! That is so nice!!💕
That fabric your wearing, VERY attractive on you! I agree with you about MaCalls patterns, I thought it was just me. Good luck with your new venture.
Welcome back to garment sewing, Kris! I so admire people who quilt and sew clothes. Multi talented. It’s fantastic!!👏👏
You're so funny. I just enjoy spending time watching your channel. Thanks for the tips today.
Yay!! Congratulations on your collaboration with fabric mart! That is great!
I agree with Kay, there is no better person for the job 👌😊. Some lovely patterns there too, enjoy your sewing Viv ✂💞😘
This was shot beautifully. Love the background. So happy to see you're at 18K subs!
Me too! She is great!
Yay! So thrilled you’re partnering with Fabric Mart. I get 90% of my fabric from them. Great video.👍👍
Hi Vivmom. You are a doll.
Just love watching you!!!
Vivmom I bust out laughing when you started singing. Lol. I love the pants pattern and I have the blouse pattern. i.m going on Fabric Mart website to check out the sale. Once again CONGRATULATIONS.
Love the top you are wearing - the fabric looks so comfy with a lovely pattern.
Congratulations my sweet sewing sister. Love you mucho 💋💨
Aww thanks Maddie!! You’re a dear.💕
Love it!
Thanks Beverly! Your excitement is so generous!!😃
Hi Gabrielle! Thanks for your well wishes. We are fine; have had a lot of overcast days but no dangerous storming. Prayers for your FIL and his wife.🙏
@@vivmomsews4962Thanks Viv. xx
Hi Viv, interesting info about Fabric Mart as a Jobber. Thanks for sharing that! Congrats on your collaboration with Fabric Mart! You look so pretty as always! Happy Sewing!
Thanks, Patricia. You’re so sweet!!🌺
Oh yes! No pleats in the front of pants for me either! That was back in the day when I had a "wash board" tummy! (pre-kids!) 😜
Great Viv. thanks for the new video!
Congratulations Vivmom! You will do great.
Thank you, Connie! And you even got out the iPad for me! So sweet.💕
Congratulations on your new venture! That’s very exciting.
Lol! I’m one of the ones that went straight to the website! Thanks for clarifying. I loved the top you had on today, beautiful colors.
Love the patterns, off to Hobby Lobby this weekend! Thanks for the video!
Look forward to seeing those patterns made up. Thanks for the fun video.
Buy from them. . I finally finished my topper and posted it, I'm working on another one now 😊
Wonderful news about your topper, Delores! So happy you’re starting another.😃
Hi Viv, I have mostly McCalls because I can buy them cheap on the website (in earlier days).
I must remember to check out the pattern review site.👍🏼
Interesting information on the “jobber” company. Never heard of that.
Blessings!
If one has a belly like I do, pleats are the FREAKIN ENEMY.
me too :(
I have a belly too but I really want to make those pants 😊 if for nothing else to prove to myself I cannot wear them. 😂
Nice pattens, all are good styles. My favorite too very easy, lol
I used to sew McCall's patterns but lately every one I've made has been a dud. I think that Simplicity has been coming out with some great designs. And recently, someone named Vivmom has gotten me hooked on New Look and Kwik Sew.😊
Thank you for all you do. Very educational and inspirational!
I am sorry I haven’t watched your fabric mart video yet but a ma excited for your new venture. Don’t we live in an amazing time where you can post videos and make deals virtually?! Lol, these are the sci-fi things that were on shows in the 70’s and 80’s.
Wonderful video, as usual! .
I just got a job this week😎but im glad to return to my house and have some rest watching your videos😻🥰
You always get stellar results, Tea. Bravo!!
@@vivmomsews4962 that may be. But I have to really work the pattern to get the results I want. 🙄 I agree with you about the hand stitching and lack of instructions with McCall's. It makes for a complicated sewing experience.
I have be waiting for McCall's to go on sale again. Thanks for the hobby lobby update.
I am so excited for you with the new opportunity. Couldn’t happen to a nicer person.
Looking forward to all your future videos. Congratulations, hugs from MT
I like the pattern that features the eyelet dress. Good luck with the kimono. Looking forward to seeing it.
Hehehe!
So sweet, C. (Literally and figuratively because: creme brûlée! Yummmmm!!) Thanks!💕
Congratulations Vivmom, your great
Congratulations . You have inspired me to try garment sewing.
I love the top you are wearing. Pattern information please. Also love the fabric
I watched the video and got distracted before commenting. Congratulations 🥳🥳🥳
I learnt about Jobbers from a fashion design teacher on TH-cam. xx
I have to agree with you when it comes to McCall's.
I’m with you!! If I get these pants to work it’ll be a miracle.
As always a great video. I love watching your videos.
Can you do a video on how to use Pattern Review as I can never find any info or reviews, it doesn't seem very user friendly to me. Thank you.
Kristina I too cannot figure out how to use Pattern Review. Please Viv Mom explain it to us!
I hope it continues and that some of your success rubs off on me!🙏
:*
I like that dress with tiers also. I think I'll go snatch it up tomorrow!
Here I am again, becoming a bit addicted to your channel.
Come on back any old time, Christine! The more the merrier!😃
Hopefully, you won't have ruffled tears when you sew up 7948. 😆 I so enjoy your vlogs and your kitty love!
Thanks Alecia. You’re making me smile.😺
Congratulations on your new partnership they are lucky to have you
Your hair looks fabulous....
Aww thanks Karyn!! The struggle is real!!😂
Really happy for your Fabric Mart liaison! Which pattern maker do you think is best for brand new, infant like beginners?
I focused on New Look because I found quite a few and I tend to like them.)
New Look (NL) 6597 - dresses
NL 6449 - the knit pullover dress; I have a construction video up for it
NL6352 - dresses
NL6543 - tops
NL6434 - tops
NL6519 - separates
NL6378 - toppers
NL6517 - separates
NL6415 - knit tops
*remember when choosing a knit size, the finished bust measurement will be smaller than yours.
We could do a shirt/pullover/blouse challenge next? Just an idea:)
Fabric Mart is a long way from Texas but I will get there sometime.
Just a shout out to say how much I appreciate your time and effort in make the videos. So happy for you and your partnership with Fabric Mart. Looking forward as always to your next video. I hope to start my topper today.
