- Back in the 60s there was great TV Theme songs and music. This is one of my favourite TV Show and music. I've edit the the shows intro and outro credits to create the extended version and given it an enhanced stereo mix. Enjoy!
Fantastic, energetic theme, I remember from a young child. Homicide,, Division 4, Number 96, The Box, Matlock Police, Cop Shop, Prisoner. Those were the halcyon days of Oz drama tv with Crawfords mostly at the helm❤
Indeed, grew up in the 70's and 80's, and remember most of those shows, i really liked watching the police derivatives, Cop Shop until '83 and Blue Heelers probably the last of the genre. Beats the living daylights out of MAFS and other meaningless 'reality' dross. Aside from the footy, I have hardly watched TV in 15+ years.
Compulsory Friday night viewing at my place in the '60's.
Ah yes, Det. Sgt. Frank Banner the only copper that didnt have to look at you to keep his eye on you ;-)
🤣🤣 he could watch both ends of the train.
Took him years to get his wife pregnant. Always thought the hole was 8” to the right.
Never missed Divvy 4 good ole Det Frank Banner and the team. Very progressive show for it’s time.
These old clips and opening themes are fabulous. Vaguely remember watching many of these (Division 4, Homicide and Matlock Police).
Living in Sth. Melbourne as a kid watching Homicide, Division 4 and Cop shop being filmed on the nearby streets they were my hero's and at the same time my Dad and several other family members were all Police I had no choice but to follow in their footsteps. Dad had me holding up a Police sign as a 5 year old in a pursuit whilst he drove an EJ Holden. Dad drove all those Holdens in the 60's and then Chryslers in the 70.s. When I worked I attended all those old stations such as Collingwood which would be all gone now. All my family have passed on now and hearing this theme stirs me up to want to be back impossible. Proud to be a member from the days when we had to spit polish our boots dry clean our uniforms and work in very old stations with very little equipment.
That would have been a wonderful experience ❤ who wrote the theme, was it Tommy Tiko?

No. Johnny Pearson.
Probably the best TV Show theme song ever.
Mod Squad wasn’t bad either.
Fabulous theme and intro. The expression on Patricia Smith's face upon entering the Ladies Lounge is a classic :)
Power Drive + Crawford Productions = Perfect
Love this theme. Up there with Bargearse!
Don't break my arse. My Bargy Wargy arse. 😂
Thunderbirds are go baby!!!! This is serious mum
Remember sitting up way past our bedtime with Nana and Pa watching this.
grew up watching gerrard kennedy and chuck fauckner the good old days
There was a movie show in Chicago that used the first 20 seconds of this as their theme song. Then I heard it in some episodes of the old “Spider-Man” cartoons followed by “This Week in the NFL”.
Great work putting this together Kevin!
Thanks!
Loved this show it inspired me to become a Police man.
saw Chuck Faulkiner on somethng other day, maybe in Vietnam war docu, the 'It's Time" ALP election campaign music, 1972, he was one of the celeb faces singing in it..
Faulkiner was actually ex-police, I remember reading back when show was still on TV..not sure whethger Vicpol or NSW police..
Well done very clean and vibrant sound, do Matlock Police, that's my Favourite Crawfords theme.
fabulous.....the crims had no chance in those days...
Awesome.
I watched this show as a kid
The Title of this track is "Power Drive", but to date I've still never been able to find the credits for this fantastic piece of music.

Sing if you’re proud to be plastic now
5,4,3,2,wuunnn!
Tremendous
The series that rescued nine from irreverence!
They are not theme songs just themes or theme music. The orchestra is the group forty orchestra recording for the production music label KPM.
KPM is now part of the EMI Production Music Library. Recordings as far back as the 1920s are available.
In the public domain? I seem to remember hearing the theme music from 'Homicide' in a Monty Python movie, might have been the 'Holy Grail'.
@@terrythekittieful It's production music. Anyone can licence it for use, but it does cost you something just like stock music does today.
Was used back in the late 1960's for NFL Films highlights in the US.
Australias version of Zcars
The TV show that inspired a variety of pizza
missing the 14-15s music intro bit, which sets it up..
Here's the whole track: th-cam.com/video/y5KIXMZV62Q/w-d-xo.html

Great Aussie shows. A time when money was spent doing something creative, not like the crap om TV today.
Back when the term 'influencer' did not exist.
