    Watching this from a hotel room just as cozy as this in Tokyo! It’s a fun experience for sure and interesting juggling the space with 2 people

      Hah! Thanks for watching! Yeah, it's definitely more of a challenge sharing a room like this with two people - and I've done that in even smaller rooms in Japan too! The bags are the real issue. Well that, and standing up or turning around! But this one was definitely very nice for one!

    I stayed at an APA hotel in Shinjuku this past February. Cozy and affordable. My only complaint was that the room was very warm and I could not adjust the temperature. I had to call the front desk to have them lower the room temperature. Front desk was very helpful relocating my luggage as I had it delivered by mistake to another APA hotel in Shinjuku.

      @GordonsTravelTips  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for your comment and for watching! Did your room in Shinjuku look like mine in Akihabara? Interesting that they didn't have a temperature control by the ned like mine did...

    • @giovannidelacruz5165
      @giovannidelacruz5165 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mine was by the desk and it only allowed me to adjust the heat to make the room warmer.

      @@GordonsTravelTips Mine is quite similar in terms of size and what's in the room. My room has a slightly different layout, room size is actually slightly bigger but I think it really depends on which room you have. But anyway, still way bigger than my previous room in Shibuya (similar price) that I can only open the luggage on my bed.
      For other viewers, my hotel was Apa Ueno Okachimachi Ekimae Minami. (very important to get the whole name as there are so many APAs even in the same area), it's slightly further from Akihabara but still only a easy 10 mins walk along some main streets.

    Interesting culture Japan being a country where space is a luxury so you need to have great design skills in order to give the guest the required amount of stuff/features.
    I prefer to pack light when I travel as it gets really annoying to carry a heavy bag/backpack after a while, also unless my destination is in the middle of nowhere I can visit the city centre and buy something that I didn't want to bring from home because of weight or size reasons.
    Keep up the good work!

    1:21 Love that scene change!
    4:00 Careful not to scratch your insteps with that door.. I did it few times before, and it is painful for some days.
    9:00 Oddly the power outlet, maybe just me who bothers, most of them doesn't accept extra prong for Grounding contact. (Longer left slit is Neutral, BTW)

      Hi! The Nintendo one was from a trendy t-short shop on London's Brick Lane, but I see them in most 'cool' t-short shops in London, I think they share a lot of old game graphics. The one I wore in the hotel room was from a shop near the station at Kawaguchi Go, the stop for Mount Fuji lakes.

      @@GordonsTravelTips When I travelled alone to Japan I stayed in Ryokans, but I totally would if I was travelling without the fam now. This looks pretty funky and a far better space than a PremierInn or Travelodge!

      @@KaiManWong I do love traditional Ryokans, but these hotels are certainly convenient and relatively cheap. I love how it's all optimised for the space. I've stayed in quite a few now, and this was one of the better ones. Some really don't have any gap at the bottom of the bed!
