Hi, thank you for your video. Wonder if you could help me I have removed the exhaust and replaced the gasket. After replacing the rear one , isn't the two bolts supposed to go all the way? Thank you.
I replaced the clutch on my 650, and I found that if you drop the pipe down ( not raise up) it comes right out without having to worry about scratching anything
Same! did u remove the silencer or leave it in? plus it kinda nicking the brakes they get kinda stuck :D im really nervous taking the silencers off i heard a lot of mixed opinions about it.
If there's a ticking noise or sputtering coming from the header, that means it's not quite flush. You can also put ur hand by it and see if you feel any hot air coming out
I'd get it as close as you can, cinch it down, then ride it for 100 miles and let them kind of vibrate and settle into place. And then see if you can snug em down a little more afterwards 👍
In my Haynes manual it suggests replacing the exhaust gaskets, but I note you didn't mention doing this? I'm also wondering if the baffles of these pipes reduce the volume down to 80db - the legal limit in the UK? It would be a simple job of refitting them for our annual MOT tests then.
I'm having issues with mine I installed the bottom header but now my brakes keeps getting stuck i have to manually pull the brakes off because of the exhaust pipe gets in the way ? Anyone else has had this issue?
I got these same pipes for a V Star 650 project I'm building out for my brother-in-law as a gift. Your video helped me a great deal with these pipes, they were a pain trying to get them to fit in the front header, it's a very tight fit and I still don't know if I have them seated right. I'm getting similar smoking from the front header, I believe I need to replace the gasket in the header and was curious if you did the same and if the smoking you mentioned stopped (if so how long did it take)?
I got these for mine, i love the sound but the paint on mine burned completely off my front pipe and they are so hot when riding, really have to watch your pants and where you put your leg when stopping, is the a problem on yours after putting them on?
I never had any paint come off mine, I did feel some heat from them at long stop lights since they don't have heat shields. But this bike already sold so i won't be able to follow up on the long term
i don't understand all this hype about rejetting the carbs... i used to have a honda CB750, which i completely chopped up... from rigid frame to 16" overstock front end, and from z-bars to empty drag pipes... the bike has 4 carbs, and i never rejetted any of them... the bike ran like a dream, and after i sold it after several years, the next owner enjoyed it for many more years... nothing bad ever happened to the engine... except for maybe a pop once in a while when turning down the throttle... so here's my problem... you all want loud pipes, but you are scared of a couple of pops now and then?.. sounds pretty sissy to me... 🤣
Man I spent countless hours looking for this video! This explained all my questions! Thanks for making this video! 🙌🏼
Glad you found it 👍
Warum hast du "Inge Kackstuhl" bzw. meine Videos nicht gefunden?
9:35 before 9:46 after sound 11:11 without baffles
Baffles In sound and look better to me.
Everyone has his preference.
Those look great 👍
@bikes and bangs any performance changes. Need rejetting?
I have the same set!! Make sure to tighten down well on the baffle screws BEFORE you ride. They will fall out due to vibration.
This is exactly what I wanted to know how they fit and sound like. Before I order a set
Hopefully this helped, sound is really good!
@@lovelivegofast yes it did thank you
Hell yeah thanks buddy

Did the carburetor need to be tuned after switching exhaust? I have a 2009 VStar I was thinking about bobbing
I replaced the clutch on my 650, and I found that if you drop the pipe down ( not raise up) it comes right out without having to worry about scratching anything
Man it sounds like original COBRA pipes just GREAT 👍 😃 I purchased TARAZON Chinese pipes for my XVS650 from ebay too bro)))
Same!
did u remove the silencer or leave it in? plus it kinda nicking the brakes they get kinda stuck :D im really nervous taking the silencers off i heard a lot of mixed opinions about it.
Im looking into buying these, how long did they take to arrive?
Serve sistemare i carburatori?
Did you have to rejet ur carbs ?
That goes without saying
You do have to sync
How are you liking the pipes? I'm bobbing out my V Star and want to change out the pipes. Did you have to rejet the carbs?
I wanna know that to 🤔 I'll check back later on
Sounds good will need rejetting or will run lean
I feel like you have to sync carbs I put some Vance and Hines on my bike I immediately noticed it wouldn’t start with on button push took a few
How do I know if the exhaust is flush I feel mine are a bit too loud but maybe is just because it so quiet earlier
If there's a ticking noise or sputtering coming from the header, that means it's not quite flush. You can also put ur hand by it and see if you feel any hot air coming out
@lovelivegofast how do I really know is flush I do hear some clicks but the pipes I can't seem to get flush
I'd get it as close as you can, cinch it down, then ride it for 100 miles and let them kind of vibrate and settle into place. And then see if you can snug em down a little more afterwards 👍
@@lovelivegofast thanks man I appreciate
Did u have any issues with your rear break mines is dragging a but on the new pipes and seems to stay down a bit
Hey dude did you ever figure that out?! I got the same problem I have to force mine back up
Hey dude did you ever figure that out?! I got the same problem I have to force mine back up
If you did figure it out, please let me know
No not yet is been a cold winter so I have not seen my bike much since I put the pipes on

My bike only had 4000 miles on it so the exhaust gaskets still looked good. I'm not sure how many decibels with the baffle in though
I'm having issues with mine
I installed the bottom header but now my brakes keeps getting stuck i have to manually pull the brakes off because of the exhaust pipe gets in the way ? Anyone else has had this issue?
same, on different exhausts tho, but yeah same issue. idk the solution yet if u do let me know
@@martincontreras2660 same issue let me know if you guys find a solution
So these are a $188 apiece
Bet thanks bro been looking at same pipes

Well the smoking is from the paint and finish on the pipes heating up for the first time. The smoking did stop after a couple rides
will it be hard to change the forward controllers to 6''
I got these for mine, i love the sound but the paint on mine burned completely off my front pipe and they are so hot when riding, really have to watch your pants and where you put your leg when stopping, is the a problem on yours after putting them on?
