Honestly, not enough people value having fun in games anymore, it's just "win, win, win" and it's very saddening. I just wish more people could value the fun in the destruction, the creative strategies, and the unique loadouts of THE FINALS rather than focusing on just winning as if it's the only thing that matters. Besides that, the game does a lot to make you feel like you won, even if you lost. It does not play sad music, does not display "DEFEAT" or "YOU LOSE" in your face, just your placement in the rankings, it makes you feel like you had fun, and that you made a good effort regardless of the result.
I 100% agree, we lost the ability to enjoy and laugh at ourselves along the way. It greatly saddens me to see this happen from the early 2000s till now. That's why The Finals is so special to me because its a representation of how games were rather than what they've become.
yeah, it's steadily getting better every season imo and if you've played other FPS games, you know they are better than most when it comes to balancing. CoD being the worst of them all... apex also has a stupid strong meta every season as well. You really can get away running anything in the game. catch a model user at distance and he's dead with an AR or LMG. Pike was truly broken but they fixed it pretty quickly. It had no drawback at range or close range. In any FPS game, burst/single fire spammable guns are always the worst meta. Looking at the Aug/M16/DMR in CoD and repeater/nemesis/hemlock meta in Apex. It's run or you can't compete. I don't know what's meta in those games anymore because as soon as The Finals dropped, I quit playing Apex which I have over 2000 hours in. edit: I'll say Embark probably let the FCAR meta go too long though 😂
I know the reason why I and other people came to the finals. It’s because it is only available on the current console generation. I have a feeling that when the next wave of consoles comes out soon, many people will make the jump from older Xboxes to the new ones and be introduced to the finals.
yep, the finals is only going to age better with time, unlike 90% of other games it has a unique art style AND incredible graphics, which is a rare combination
Facts I just came from an Xbox one S. I bought a series S two weeks ago and for the first time I tried the finals and I'm absolutely in love with the game I'm sure I'm not the only one that's been rocking the old Xbox this whole time.
I agree with everything you said. The finals is a very hard game to master because every match is different to the other. There is not a single way to play it: it requires you to know movement, positioning, have a good tracking aim due to very high ttk, good team cordination... I had to invest 200 hours to start enjoying the game. But now it is the best fps on the market
Me and like 10 other people happen to be a victim of the failing of destiny 2 and have found a comfortable new home in the Finals. It wasn't a hard transition to make nor one I regret, all it would take for most people to fall in love with the finals is to give it a genuine chance
I too am a Destiny 2 migrant, however it was beyond light where I had to sadly draw the line because of the combination of cheaters and boosters in trials. I hated leaving because I genuinely loved that game.
Honestly, idk why it matters if this game remains a 10-20k andy. As long as Embark gets the money they need from the BP and store, its fine. I got some of my friends finally addicted with the new season, and I wish it was "massive" game, but not every game needs to be that big to be successful. More players often just means more cheaters and a higher chance of meeting toxic shit heads anyway, in exchange for slightly better queue times.
For console players a small playerbase like that is horrible tho because you cant find ranked lobbys without crossplay and thats really bad because u have a big disadvantage compared to pc players and also there is cheaters on crossplay which wouldnt be a problem in console only
My problem as of late has been quality of matches. I keep getting into games where people disconnect or the lobby itself is laggy on my end and it makes ranked feel like a gamble every time I load it up. This is exponentially worse when third parties still run rampant requiring more from each player to handle. Still fun to play other modes tho. Love the Halloween event
The disconnects are actually crazy no joke it happens to me almost every single game and as a light Main it makes it hard for me to want to continue playing. Still love the game tho ❤
I believe one important factor that is not looked into enough is the finals solo player experience, which is to be honest not great, i believe solo game mods should be a permanent thing.
@@InternationalPlaylistsforyou solo play cannot exist in the finals for 3 reasons: 1. A solo gamemode would pull players away from their ‘intended experience’ game modes 2.it’s a free game, so they want to encourage onboarding/making friends, they even give you more xp for being in a party 3. Half of the gadgets wouldn’t be used in the gamemode (like who would bring a defib playing solo?) Half of this game is honestly building a good team, I’ve been sending friend requests to randoms and have networked a full list of people to party with
@@Goberino its not fun to play of u have 1 Bad teammate so most players dont play at all when they dont have a full Team so would be nice if they have the possibility to still play the game with a solo Mode.
I believe it's also a hardware issue. They definitely should invest heavily on optimizing the game especially on the CPU because the graphics isn't that hard to run and most casual players doesn't have strong PC
I very much agree and it is a concern they need to focus on. Even with a beefy system, I'm getting insane frame drops still in Kyoto and my CPU is quite literally working overtime.
I think Marketing is the main thing, word of mouth can only go so far if you're not planting the seed, almost anyone invested in the finals will sing its praises, I dont think I've been this invested in an FPS game since CS 1.6 (yes, that long, probably longer than some Finals players lifespams) but I got it from a couple of friends who started playing in season 2, I joined season 3. Yet, when I joined it had been 2 entire seasons and I never heard of the game, not a single time, and I'm the kind of person that often breaks the news of new games coming out to my friends, so yeah, there's hardly any marketing that targets the wide audience, another thing is collaborations which are part of marketing in a sense, since using big names promotes your game by default, however, I'm not sure how this could be integrated without it feeling forced. A third option is a competitive scene, the Finals is the kind of game where big plays go stupid, some 5d chess bs or wacky stuff, yet the scene is fairly new and they're already taking steps to make it bigger, I think this will bring a lot more players. As for other games failing, I dont think that would help if people dont look at the Finals as an option, I do agree with the whole war of attrition analogy, but for the game to be part of the conversation, it needs to be known and stand in its own feet, why would you choose a game you don't know much about when there's shinier and more appealing options in the market, both new and old games. The Finals needs to keep standing out as the unique experience it is, I don't think I've ever played an FPS as dynamic and chaotic as this and I'm here for the foreseeable future, Embark has been doing excellent so far and I hope to see even more of whats coming.
I agree it marketing that would more or less kill the game like it the same thing to rumbleverus was a great game very fun battle royal game but it died because no one was really talking about it even know it had lots of players but it was also part fighting game so to me that also kinda y it died
Believe it or not but marketing is in full swing. Over the last week I keep coming across finals content in my feed even though this is the first such content I've come across. TH-cam must be getting paid.
if you're already playing is a matter of time before you get stuff suggested and then the snowball effect starts, however, that's not what we need, since that's aimed to those already playing. we need more stuff aimed at possible players that havent seen or played the game yet.
I also think terminal attack should be replaced. Theres WT and Ranked for competitive modes, and we dont really have a fun casual mode besides power shift. A TDM, or another 5v5 mode would do this game justice IMO. Capture the flag could be amazing in 5v5. Every build would still play a vital role and itd be a nice change of pace. And kyoto and skyway are huge, so they would be perfect.
Youre definitely right about all fps having an issue with cheaters. Ive introduced this game to a few friends and none of them have stuck around. They just prefer what they are used to from what i understand. I think live service games have spoiled us lol
Yea for real, people only have so much time in the day to do what they enjoy. So its completely understandable for them to stick with what they know, but hopefully Embark can capitalize on the failures of the current big names in the genre and get those players back.
@@Vanguard-14 appreciate it, and yes the PIKE is very strong lol. I think the next course of action is to buff other weapons to compete with its strength though, to give players more variety and weapons to counter without sacrificing how good the weapons feel.
@ Definitely. I feel like it’s pretty balanced against medium and heavy but I just don’t think lights have much of a time to react. Maybe it’s just a skill issue on my end 😅
@ hey man I can see where your coming from. I made this comment last night before the nerf and now I think that the gun is in a balanced state. What weapons would you like to see buffed?
@@Vanguard-14 Revolver, reduce the spread by 15% on hip fire. I hate it when sword lights dash right at me and my bullets decide to swerve around them.
I came for the info about the game, stayed for the montage, absolute banger choice of music! I've been watching your content for a while and you've been doing an amazing job with the quality of content, so keep it up my guy :)
You hit it right on the nail for me. My friends literally said exactly what you proposed in this video. They dont want to learn the movement and nuance that comes with the finals. Even if they tried it out in previous seasons and had success for being new. They have a lot of skins, weapons, or time spent on the FPS games they play. (Mostly COD/apex) and those factors alone make them not give this game a try. It genuinely sucks ppl dont play games for fun anymore, bc if they did I feel like a lot of players would enjoy this game. So much creativity in how you rotate, team fight, clutch, and play objectives.
1:15 i encountered a cheater and asked my teammate to report it after game (because they dont know how to), next day when i logged in i got a message that an action had taken because i did that, its incredible
this game is actually so fun and it has far less cheaters than my only fps experience R6S (which might not be the best experience relatively) but i’m high gold top 20k in the finals and can confidently say i’ve only gone up against a couple cheaters ever because the games structure is also very cheater-resistant in nature, so cheating doesn’t offer the same advantages as other games and the games mometization is FAR better than any other i’ve seen by miles. this game is honestly so underappreciated for how great it is its sad
Couldn’t agree more with your hot takes bro. Definitely some hot takes, but definitely some things that needed to be said. I do feel as if the community as a whole has taken another direction this season, season 4. That direction being more focused on gameplay aspects instead of game mode aspects. I do feel like the finals is growing at a steady pace, but definitely not anywhere near the AAA level. I wouldn’t say the game has been gatekept, I would say that this game is incredibly hard to learn and ultimately master. I personally have tried to get at least 7 of my buddy’s to play and it really hasn’t stuck with any of them. I think we can all agree there is a rather large curve that must be learn in order to successfully play the finals. Maybe attitudes need to shift from winning to have fun or maybe the finals needs to put more effort into cuddling noobs. I do know they have tried to address this problem, but the address has been significant enough. This is just my take on the game so far, I do wish I had more time to play. Bc it is one of those games that requires so much attention and time, especially for grinding rank or WT.
I think its because the casual players get destroyed in this game. It really needs just a TDM mode that doesnt have a respawn timer to have new players get a good feel for the game quicker. I know some will say powershift/bank it but many players just dont have patience of learning new mechanics if it takes time.
Honestly they shouldn’t be playing it then. Not to be mean or rude but games like Apex and The Finals aren’t for every gamer. Part of enjoying an BR/FPS is the high skill ceiling and improving over time to close the skill gap between you and your opponents. Its not for lazy gamers in the least
-Amazing Quality -Up to date patches and balance changes -AMAZING F2P Model, Amazing skins which are worth the money, no FOMO because you can buy every skin even after it leaves the shop -gameplay smoth af -performance and bugs are a bit annoying but thats it
One of the reasons that I feel. For this game to be less popular in South asian countries is high system requirements. You see , most people in south asian countries still use ten year old computers which is not enough to run finals at least in playable state. Valorant, on other hand requires low system requirement and is very popular among every household and casual gamer. I invited my 3 friends to play finals with me.But unfortunately only one was able to play It smoothly, Despite the other two loving the game.
From my own experience (around 230h in just the finals and more a bit too much in other fps games) main problem with the finals i see me and my freinds have is the amount of sweats especially in casual lobbies, its really getting a hold on your mind then you hear you are trash cuz u missed a shot at the enemy or did something wrong. im not gonna lie im more of casual player (Gold Nova Master in cs go, just so u know where i am skill based) yea i get it, cool game to grind ranks and all but making casual players suffer is pretty bad in my opinion. and im speaking of casual lobbies, like quick cash. you can get so many people just cussing you out and sweating its scary sometimes. of course problem dissapears when you have group of friends to play but lets get real. we all gonna solo queue eventually, people have work, responsibilties and all that life stuff. its hard to get a hold on of your friends sometimes even for one game, and when you just want to sit back, relax get heavy with a hammer and smash some stuff and some guy gonna scream at you for not being a total sweat is just pushing me away from this game, you want to be a sweat? go play ranked or world tour, but let the casuals play in peace :/ i think that you are right that it is the problem with people wanting another pvp expeirence to stream and get money off of but if 80% of the player base are just sweats and poor 20% just wants to play game then the problem araises. i just wish that there was more casual players in game (not to get massive amounts of kills and be happy about it) but for the interactions u know? like in season one where everyone was pretty much bad at the game, everyone was on the same skill level cuz game was something new and chaotic (not saying that the finals are bad rn as they are) but the casual playerbase is just swept under the rug becouse of the sweats :/ witch is a bit sad
No I agree, its no fun for me when I beat another team easily nor is it fun the other way around. Matchmaking needs to be slightly tightened up, to not scare any new or current players away. After solo-queing the majority of my Finals experience, I had amazing interactions with people I've never met and also played with players that were sweating their balls off for some reason in casual modes. When that happens, I can certainly see how that would leave a bad taste in someone's mouth.
I’ve been saying this but people call me a hater. No surprise there. I spent 500 hrs mastering medium class and I’m not even good enough to counter the sweats on cash out, world tour, and ranked, even power shift! A single light emerald class sniped all 5 teammates. Our team only had like 7 kills that match. It’s absurd! I no longer play this game. Too many sweats, all my friends no longer play this game so I was stuck soloing trying my best. :/ As a casual player who just wants some fun, loosing match after match starts to take a toll, no longer making it fun. I respect all pro players out there, but plz leave the casual players alone. Lol.
@@HazedNConfused yea like i said i fully understand sweating in ranked but damn the casual hurts af, its called casual for a reason after all, and yea like all multiplayer games with pvp there is no perfect way to make a suitable and working matchmaking. i just hope that its gonna be tweaked enough so the casual playerbase can still enjoy the game and when one of the casuals feel like going ranked its not gonna be whiped in less than a second making him alt f4 from sheer frustration and sometimes even team calling someone names can make then leave the match (seen it few times already)not everyone is resistant to hate or have enough experiences under their skin to just let go off of such things, even tho i agree i had my share of wholesome moments in the finals especially ranked mode, but i just cant cover my eyes and pretend that hate is just "people getting mad let it go" (even tho i mostly dont care about it like, bro im a furry, i get hate everywhere i am) but some of my friends that i know does not have the type of mental willpower to go through with it and they just end up going back to games that they know they are good at so they dont get screamed at. What i wanna say is that your point is valid and surely should be talked about more but same goes to community becouse it isnt just the devs that should make matchmaking better but the community that should accept that not everyone wants to grind or even can play so much as them. there are better and worse players of course, but if you are getting angry cuz someone is throwing a match (i mean they are just bad at the game not that they are trolling) then i think that these type of people just dont have anything more meaningful going on in their lifes. i really appreaciate your video as i think its first one that talks about an actual problem in the game not that "GamE IS dYInG" cuz people work on the week and come back to game in the weekend. but yea we should push both community and devs to work towards better future fot The Finals, as i said, its not only devs that need to work but also community that need to be more understanding especially to new or just weak gamers, dont hate them, help them, invite them to a team, talk, explain what they can do better or how they can improve, show them maybe that AKM is better than Revolver for new players and even if they dont kill much, its enough if they just hit someone, making them go low or to half hp, i think that would make whole experiece much better for everyone.
Two biggest issues to me are the server issues and the onboarding for new players. They need to work out the technical issues, I have so many servers where I am lagging or other people are disconnecting. There needs to be some type of TDM mode promoted for onboarding new players into the game before they are just thrown into quick cash or ranked without knowing what the hell to do.
In terms of the technical issues, there is definitely some work to do in that department and I 100% agree with you on the TDM, especially for the newer players.
The game itself is awesome. My main problem until now is the matchmaking system. I am not new to shooters but new to full acuracy while sprinting and fast movement. I am about lvl 16 and I get thrown into lobbys, where most are lvl 60+. The difference in skill is huge and it is no fun on being stomped on most of the time. Half of these matches even feel like there are some hustlers/ sweats who only care about stomping and winning. Not having fun for themselfes or for others. It is skill issue, I know but please let me have a good and fair game to have fun.
I’m a level 70 and have over 1,300 wins and 25k elims and as of season 4 I encounter low level (level 1 -15) players that destroy me more often than higher level players. It’s weird
I really love this game ( the Graphics , soundtracks , the Variety of gameplay , and maps ) it’s really sad games like black ops 6 being the most watched on stream while there are the finals .
I'm happy, that there are still people on yt like you, who can play this game. I've seen so many guys, who don't know the essentials, like quick melee when using hammer, and are just spamming secondary, but they are still giving guides on how to play, that i started to believe, that 90% of the finals youtubers are like that. As for the topic of the video. It will be very hard for those big games to fail. They have been through so much, but they are still running, because of the players, that don't care about anything, and are just playing out of habit, and are spitting at every other game. There are only two ways for them to fail. If they do something so bad, that even those players lose interest, like making the game unplayable for two weeks, and i mean literally unplayable like if they make them run on 2fps, or so you can't join the game at all. Or if the finals will slowly get a big player base on it's own, and this player base will start converting people from other games, like communities from these big games are doing now. I personally just hope, that there will be time in our community, when we will make memes of long gone age of game balance complaining.
I agree, i feel like most players just don't want to leave a game that they probably have invested years of their life into. They want to hold onto what they are comfortable to even if what they have is not what it used to be. I can respect that but there comes a point where you have to let it go and try somethin different.
I absolutely agree with you. The game is in a great state and things actually get balanced regularly. Of course not every weapon is equally viable but no FPS has that luxury. People are just unwilling to drop games that they've spent thousands of hours gitting gud at. What brought me over to The Finals was the realization that first and foremost, I want my video games to be fun. I'm a decent FPS player, but I'm not good enough to be a full time streamer. So if that's the case, shouldn't I spend my free time enjoying myself? The Finals allows me to both have fun and scratch my competitive itch.
I think what filters a lot of people is the obtuseness of long ttks, paired with extreme damage falloff, minuscule or no headshot multipliers, and generally uninteresting gunplay. Having to shoot a heavy in the head 12 times with an AKM while the sights come completely unglued is not a satisfying experience. It all contributes to gameplay where to make an impact as an individual you have to utterly overmatch your opponents, and as most people are solo queueing into matches, that can get frustrating quickly.
It's a really cool game, what I like the mist about it is that you don't have to play the hard meta to win, you can just use what you feel like is fun, I'm personally using something many people call bad, but I still enjoy it and it works just fine, not likenin other games where the meta usually just crushes everyone
Definetely the casual side of this game is extremely fun and refreshing up until the top 500 in ranked 😞. However that is such a small percentage of the player population.
This is the game's biggest issue and it's been this way since season 1. Unfortunately people will request light is nerfed because light is annoying, but the medium heal/defib meta is worse than annoying - it's BORING.
I'm pretty sure I heard this in the interview Appoh did we the #1 Heavy (it's really good btw), that maybe making it so only one member of the team can equip the healing beam spec. At least for modes like ranked.
Also being able to use all 3 builds for new players should be available. Give each build 3 diff load outs to start with and then from there, ppl will learn faster and more options is always a good thing. Players will also find a playstyle that fits them faster.
Apparently it “died the day it came out” from what I’ve heard from someone today. First time finding out about this after playing since season one and I’m devastated😕
Well, like any game, when it releases, it's going to have a temporary surge in players. Saying that the finals died, I think, is a bit of an exaggeration. It simply left its honeymoon phase. The game's current player counts are nothing to scoff at.
The main reason a lot of my mates wont play is because of the performance. It was bad enough for them in S2 but half way through S3 there was a patch that almost halved the frame rates of a lot of players including me and my mates. Im ok cuz i have a good PC but others cant even get over 40fps on low. They really like the game and even watch videos on it, but wont play it until the performance is at least where it was in S2.
Sorry Im late to respond, but I 110% agree it is a HUGE issue. Even on my PC, a 4080 with an I9, I still am getting random frame drops. On top of that my CPU is being overworked while my gpu is being under utilized.
I think your main points sum it up perfectly, and I completely agree. I would also add, that along the lines of people having essentially a “sunk cost fallacy” for skills in the games they currently play (i.e. not The Finals); I think other big streamers have a higher allegiance to whatever game their community got built around since either their community only watches their streams because they play those games or because those game companies pay them to. Also I think that beside CoD 6’s new mobility system, or Titanfall 2’s movement + mobility, The Finals is the only other game with as much mobility and movement in a FPS title, and that comes without mentioning the innovative sandbox and destruction elements for the game.
I think next reason is graphical preformance. The Finals is very hard for most computer, so even if someone wanted to play The Finals he couldnt because he has 5 FPS. Great Video btw.
The Finals is a really CPU demanding game due to its destruction system. Its not really graphicaly demanding at all. I got a very big performance boost by enabling AMD Precision Boots Overdrive, which is a smart overclocking feature for Ryzen chips. Most people look at the GPU as the demanding factor for gaming performance, but for The Finals you need a pretty beefy CPU if you want the highest framerates, The GPU doesnt do much work in this game.
I wasn’t really playing season 4 until last week with the Halloween event but loving how it’s been. Feels like it got better hit detection or net code, not sure but it just feels better overall. I love the event rn and am glad it’s as great as it is. I will say I think they do need to have a lot of maps and some modes for casual fun. And with lots of variants. After some more seasons with that added and if they continue to get better, I think it’ll slowly keep growing. Similar to those games people don’t really talk about but play by the millions. This event is great though, these kind help people stick around. Maybe they can do weekly ones with more free rewards like camos. CoD MWIII had a great way of retaining players with almost weekly challenges you do to get camos and small stickers or other cosmetics. Doesn’t need to be big, even some basic cosmetics would be great. With maybe some bigger ones mix in every now and then. Their community event rewards are kinda meh most time but I do appreciate them, just super easy to do and rarely take much time. That said they should be easier to do and fast just not too fast.
I am playing this game for about 10 months now. I have never encountered a cheater. Maybe i did but i just did not notice it. Sometimes people cannot accept that they have been killed by somebody so they just blame it on cheating such as aimbot or something.
I've almost entirely dropped overwatch (I'm a near day one player) for The Finals. the Finals is SO FUN. I used to be a dva main but now I'm the a DPS healer like I was always meant to be. (Medium with revolver, beam, and defib)
Need some kind of welcome playlist for new players. I play mainly solo and basically just power shift and when you see all your enemies in the lobby wearing default skins you already feel bad for them. It´s not even fun to go 15-20 kills without dying and you just run around and gun everyone you see. I´ve played since the open beta and around 350h playtime
Tbh you’re on the nail - it’s a new genre and we’re competing for people who have spent hundreds or thousands of hours investing into their respective games. It’s not so much that The Finals has made big mistakes, it’s that we have to wait for other games to make there mistakes so we can swoop in and get more players. Also, I’m gonna be honest, the new player experience is way too slow, and way too structured (you can’t even choose your class!) There has got to be a way to maintain progression while giving new players more options- like choosing a class to unlock first instead of being forced to play a medium, having a free equipment rotation that allows players to get access to more guns n̅ gadgets quicker, etc.
Honestly loving where the game is. But yes cheating is a massive, MASSIVE problem. My friends just got off playing for an hour and our biggest take away was that we didnt get a cheater for that whole hour... Because that's a statistical annomally that stood out hugely. We are so use to games being ruined by it that even the small ass sample size of an hour of play time, we just fully expect AT LEAST one. But most times it's higher! I fucking love this game but it sucks seeing it be driven into the ground by this..
That sucks to hear your going through that and I definitely don’t want to invalidate your experience. Have you reported some of these losers to discord yet?
Related to resistance to change issue is that i think nowadays the new generation of gamers (the one who can start playing on a new game and aren't affected as much by the resistance to change) are, for the most part flowing into the mobile world, which is terrifying to say and think. So there aren't many new player that could make their main game a new published game like the finals.
Not that many weapons, need more of them and they need to do some tuning on a couple of them so that they are worth using... love the finals cant wait for season 5😎
The closest game to Finals is Destiny PvP. I had been trying to return to Destiny, but it’s very complicated because of the grind. Finally, I discovered Finals
the finals reminded me of the first free to play games on Steam, they were particular as games but generic in appearance at first glance, not having something with a strong and inspired design to put at the forefront makes the difference (no iconic character to recognise) plus the launch problems and another thing that everyone forgets, I don't "take" a game based on what it does like the others or that the others do even worse but based on what it does well (the finals didn't have better monetization, more varied or refined gameplay than DRG or titanfall 2 and not even a more recognizable art style but it has excellent map destruction in a pvp game) the finals has and had an excellent base on which it built almost nothing, many of the most basic requests during the closed beta were not implemented in more than a year of development (setting, character slots and more) in all of this let's say that embark spent almost all the time doing NERF (to say that they listen to the community is actually wrong or there would have been some buff to the heavy or at least no nerf) the icing on the cake is throwing the new players who are random into the meat grinder against pre-made teams of diamond, they are steam rolled badly thanks to this lack of balance, mocked by the try harder who are playing "you should have formed a team" and therefore they leave and the quantity of players becomes lower and more and more try harder p.s. for Americans it will be easy but in Europe it is difficult to even find people who speak your language and many friends no longer play or do so at different times, so the need for match making that takes into account the difference between pre-made and random teams becomes essential (you can put them together but the pre-made teams should be one division below the random guy with the lowest rank, not like now when a team of random silvers goes against three diamonds on "world tour") and above all no one wants to organize themselves like if he had to play tarkov every time he wanted to play a game
It’s a good game but like you said, lots of players grind so bad. Ranked and world tour is filled with pro team sweats I can’t even have fun or enjoy it. All my online buddies no longer play this game. For all you new players out there, good luck soloing. Find some online buddies and stick with a group, you’ll get better.
the finals actually false bans people i got a week false ban for doing well in powershift the game mode with literal bots. i just play it to wind down when i wanna play the finals but not have to play ranked. people like ottr and laske also have gotten false bans before laske multiple times
Games these days are long term projects. The finals will find its placing eventually. Also we excpect all games to be massive/or dead whilst the fact is most of the games are somewhere in between
I’ve been playing The Finals since day 1. I love the game but I can’t play it casually anymore, I have to be sweaty to at least win a game. Trying to get my friends to play it, most of the time they just quit cause they don’t understand it or the matches are just very unfair for them. Also solo play sucks cause my team keeps leaving if they die or we didn’t get the cash out first.
I have 9 hours playtime in this game, still a beginner and only play Quickcash because i'm casual player and not ready to play Cashout yet I've tried other shooter titles like Valorant or Apex Legends, but none of these game stick to me or made me play everyday, The Finals is game that I'm sure I would commit for years to come it's just too fun, the destruction is amazing, cosmetics is quality goods with consumer friendly monetization, the graphic is really good (I don't realize this game built on UE5), but it's quite lightweight to play on my low-mid system, I hope Embark keep fix some issues and this game get the spotlight it deserve
Game is great. Trying to get a full squad of friends to play but we just keep getting stomped by lvl 70s everytime. We’ve been playing for weeks have yet to see anyone under lvl 30 like us
The Finals imo is the first high quality FPS game in recent years that doesnt just feel like a clone of some other popular OG title like CoD or CSGO or Apex.
as for overwatch, i came from that game. the finals welcomed me gracefully. i hope the 6v6 tests in season 14 of overwatch 2 fail, i think that will open a window for the finals. same w season 5.
Personally i really wish they added tdm, there not being a tdm mode is whats stopping my friends from playing this game. sadly the playerbase doesn't seem to want that so the finals will miss out and never reach its potential player counts and hype.
TDM I think is becoming more and more of a necessity it'll provide a bridge of similarity for those new players to understand the mechanics before gradually moving to cashout.
@@fokionleile7662 i heard about that, but they said its not a priority and never will be. im hoping it comes out in season 5 but from the way they worded it, i wouldn't expect it
@@HazedNConfused thats how i feel too, it would also be a very good warm up mode. currently i play power shift to warm up but i feel like my teammates are always ai in that mode 🤣
No brother, I'm sorry to say this but there are too many issues for someone's experience in The Finals. Solo experience, unlimited nerfs and barely any buffs, performance issues, server side issues, low skill ceiling for most weapons, crutches and more are to be listed. I used to be a die hard fun of The Finals (S1 Diamond, S2 Diamond, S3 Emerald, S4 Plat 1 cuz i quit) but there are just too many bad/frustrating things in the game. It's extremely hard to see these bad aspects when you love The Finals, it took me 4 seasons to see it. I'm sure the next game from Embark will be much better and successful
No your not wrong and as a soloque player myself it is very brutal. I wish I added it in this video, but didn’t because I have another video coming about that topic. In regards to the nerfs, the latest video I made was about just that and I will stand by my statements (even if I get flamed for it). The more nerfs in the name of “perfect balance” the blander this game becomes. Regardless though these are very valid concerns and I am glad we are having the discourse in the hopes that someone at embark see this, takes the constructive criticism, and turns things around.
It really feels like it. People will cuss you out and rage quit for not having meta loadouts and top fragging with 25 kills while sticking a heal beam up their butt and defending point simultaneously. Basically every match I feel like people are playing for tournament money. Nothing interesting, nothing new. The same shotgun demat, ak heal beam, lewis gun shields, invis xp. I have to keep these meta loadouts basically on tap at all times because running anything that isn't meta loses me teammates or harassed. Granted it's not EVERY match. But I think the biggest issue is: We just need more people. Like 80% of the playerbase are coming from other shooters and just playing CoD and beaming everyone. No point capture, just focused on kills. Which means the skill floor is pretty high to enjoy the game because fun and interesting builds usually end up just getting you killed or bagged by every other opponent.
I should mention I still love the game even if atm I don't like the player base. I just wish I didn't have to play with 2 or just by myself 50% of the time because they make horrible decisions or hate me off of my loadout.
7k hours in Apex and 800 in The Finals. The Finals is the only other FPS that I’ve enjoyed almost as much as Apex. When I get burned out on one I swap to the other cause fundamentally FPS skill is easily transferred. I feel very grateful for The Finals seeing as Apex Devs 2.0 are steady removing every bit of skill gap this game ever had😔At least in The Finals gun skill and game sense still mean something
I think one big problem is the solo queues... more often then not I get teamed up with some noobs. That in itself wouldn't be bad but now the game puts us against 3-stacks and that simply isn't fun. Especially not when the 3-stack know what they're doing. Then for some reason The Finals is fun to play but not so much fun to watch. Can't put the finger on why that is but that's my observation.
I dont want The Finals to try to compete with the top games since many other games had tried and most of them had failed. I am comfortable if it focuses on its playerbase while opening up to new players
Honestly, I thought the game would've picked up in popularity due to bigger youtubers playing the game in the last month or so. I remember seeing Jackfrags, levelcap and even aztecross getting the finals experience. However, even if that weren't the case, the game itself is far from dying and hopefully has a long life-span ahead of itself. Anyways, how about a flamethrower buff?
Reddit is often exaggerated many issues and not limited to the finals. This is probably the closest thing to gatekeeping new players to the game. And aiming is not really a gatekeeping factor when comoared to something like fighting game fundamentals (blocking, punishing, notation, etc). I left reddit for quite sometime now and I really think by letting people trying new stuffs first handedly without any influence by others opinions usually do more good than harm.
I have played the finals since ob and started playing apex during s3 cuz, yknow, Terminals was ass. And even with only 100 hours in Apex I can say that it has MUCH better mechanics than finals. Gunplay and movement feel MUCH better and way more solid and the audio, eventhough it's notoriously bad and inconsistant in apex, is MUCH, MUCH worse in finals. So many times when playing ranked a team of 3 walks up on me behind a corner and I can't hear a THING untill I am DEAFENED by gun sounds but for some reason I can hear footsteps from players that are 20 meters away inside of a building? I think one of the main issues people have with finals is that it feels floaty and much less responsive and crimps compared to basically every shooter out there, which can take a lot of getting used to. That, and the fact that finals requires a lot of strategie and understanding of the game to be played at mediocre level makes it hard for newer players to start without feeling confused or frustrated.
I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve seen a medium using light abilities and I wouldn’t consider an esports player an athlete based on the definition of athlete and personally I just don’t think the developers know wtf they’re doing they need to play the game and find out for themselves but they won’t
Thats why im 100% stay on CashOut. Like no pressure by team mate who cease Win. And the randomness from players. Lol
I agree. But rip goo plane the devs did us dirty for no reason :(

I've already said it but it bears repeating: Season 4 is peak.
What a game, what a studio !
Logically to me it not peak but every season has been great to me
yeah, it's steadily getting better every season imo and if you've played other FPS games, you know they are better than most when it comes to balancing.
I spend money on the finals because they have one of the most fair monetization

This is the only multiplayer I’m playing lately and I hope they keep supporting it in the long term.
I really hoe for the same brother, I love this game.
I know the reason why I and other people came to the finals. It’s because it is only available on the current console generation. I have a feeling that when the next wave of consoles comes out soon, many people will make the jump from older Xboxes to the new ones and be introduced to the finals.
You know, I never even considered that and you make a very good point.
yep, the finals is only going to age better with time, unlike 90% of other games
it has a unique art style AND incredible graphics, which is a rare combination
I agree and its a very valid concern that needs to be address.
Not to mention lack of backfilling
@@TipSheikh this man. This.
Bank it has to be the closest thing to solos we have lol
A 1vs 1 Mode in the world tour style would be really nice
@@InternationalPlaylistsforyou solo play cannot exist in the finals for 3 reasons:
1. A solo gamemode would pull players away from their ‘intended experience’ game modes
2.it’s a free game, so they want to encourage onboarding/making friends, they even give you more xp for being in a party
3. Half of the gadgets wouldn’t be used in the gamemode (like who would bring a defib playing solo?)
Half of this game is honestly building a good team, I’ve been sending friend requests to randoms and have networked a full list of people to party with
@@Goberino its not fun to play of u have 1 Bad teammate so most players dont play at all when they dont have a full Team so would be nice if they have the possibility to still play the game with a solo Mode.
@ I know it’s hard to be social, but you gotta treat players like it’s fantasy football; if they’re doing good, get them in your team
I came back with season 4 and it was SO WORTH IT. This game has been polished to such a point its almost unbelivable.
It has had an incredible upgrade. There are still some aspects that need to be worked on, but they did a damn good job as a whole.
@TonyStorm21 that's what I'm telling you. I don't play. I'm here now cause my interest from all the marketing has piqued.
Well meade video. I loved this smoth and subtle change from finishing narration to gamplay footage. The fade into music was aspecially nice.
I appreciate that thank you!

I 100% agree with you! Keep up the great content!
Absolutely will!
I love that I can buy 1 item in a bundle if I don't like the whole thing. Plus, not every battle pass gives you back more in game currency. W. ❤
Great video, totally agree. BTW do you edit ur own videos? Because the editing is really nice. 😁
Thank you and yes I absolutely do!
I enjoy the monetization. The skins are absolutely phenomenal.

Yes, performance absolutely has to be a priority.
As a casual player who just wants some fun, loosing match after match starts to take a toll, no longer making it fun.
What if, There is feature like Reconnect to previous game ?
@@anziaurif only 😂
@@anziaurthat’s not the point, the lag is a decent amount worse than any other major fps at least for me
The game itself is awesome.
It’s weird
I just agree with your point. Silly that so many people are missing out on the Finals superior quality. Because they're afraid of something new.
Exactly, even with its flaws. This game is nothing short of a masterpiece.
I really love this game ( the Graphics , soundtracks , the Variety of gameplay , and maps ) it’s really sad games like black ops 6 being the most watched on stream while there are the finals .
It sucks, but rest assure The Finals will have its day!
They just have very little advertising. I remember seeing it about 5 times last season.
Exactly!
Only thing I would complain about in finals is triple medium defib Shits obnoxious
So we're not gonna talk about how of a machine turbogranny is. So fun to watch.
@ I was just kidding lol. My friend saying the game “died the day it came out” is new information to me
Heard the same lol.
They should make a social space with mini games like a finals city so we can get squads and stuff together and have stuff todo besides compete
Thats a great idea!
You're right on.
I think next reason is graphical preformance. The Finals is very hard for most computer, so even if someone wanted to play The Finals he couldnt because he has 5 FPS.
Great Video btw.
What are your specs?
The Finals is a really CPU demanding game due to its destruction system. Its not really graphicaly demanding at all. I got a very big performance boost by enabling AMD Precision Boots Overdrive, which is a smart overclocking feature for Ryzen chips.
Most people look at the GPU as the demanding factor for gaming performance, but for The Finals you need a pretty beefy CPU if you want the highest framerates, The GPU doesnt do much work in this game.
@@neckbread1829 isn’t the destruction and its physics run on the server side?
@@Solcres_Joa I dont have the problem, but my friends are running this at 5 FPS
@@obyvatel_ceska Do you know their specs?
It’s funny bc when i sucked in the finals, it made me want to play it more…guess i have that mamba 🐍 mentality in my DNA. 💪
Now thats a winners mentality!
The way we die in this game reminds me of TRON
Haha yes!
i agree. very intelligent takes.
Sometimes people cannot accept that they have been killed by somebody so they just blame it on cheating such as aimbot or something.
try playing on asia servers there's a cheater every other game or maybe the guy hitting only headshots from 100 m with a M11 is just better than me
Honestly ive always loved The Finals because it oddly reminds me of TF2. Surprised the communities havent had more crossover honestly.
Hopefully one day 🤞
I've almost entirely dropped overwatch (I'm a near day one player) for The Finals. the Finals is SO FUN.
I love The Finals since day one and it has the best design overall and the song at the end was cool😁
As a D2 vet, I totally get it. Also when you miss a few days, you don’t get serious FOMO.
One of the few games I actually enjoy playing
I agree with everything here, great video
the finals reminded me of the first free to play games on Steam, they were particular as games but generic in appearance at first glance, not having something with a strong and inspired design to put at the forefront makes the difference (no iconic character to recognise)
plus the launch problems and another thing that everyone forgets, I don't "take" a game based on what it does like the others or that the others do even worse but based on what it does well (the finals didn't have better monetization, more varied or refined gameplay than DRG or titanfall 2 and not even a more recognizable art style but it has excellent map destruction in a pvp game)
the finals has and had an excellent base on which it built almost nothing, many of the most basic requests during the closed beta were not implemented in more than a year of development (setting, character slots and more) in all of this let's say that embark spent almost all the time doing NERF (to say that they listen to the community is actually wrong or there would have been some buff to the heavy or at least no nerf)
the icing on the cake is throwing the new players who are random into the meat grinder against pre-made teams of diamond, they are steam rolled badly thanks to this lack of balance, mocked by the try harder who are playing "you should have formed a team" and therefore they leave and the quantity of players becomes lower and more and more try harder
p.s. for Americans it will be easy but in Europe it is difficult to even find people who speak your language and many friends no longer play or do so at different times, so the need for match making that takes into account the difference between pre-made and random teams becomes essential (you can put them together but the pre-made teams should be one division below the random guy with the lowest rank, not like now when a team of random silvers goes against three diamonds on "world tour") and above all no one wants to organize themselves like if he had to play tarkov every time he wanted to play a game
Also we excpect all games to be massive/or dead whilst the fact is most of the games are somewhere in between
Tried this game yesterday. Loved it
after the pike nerf and model nerf what do you think is the medium meta?
In my opinion the FAMAS, when it comes to damage, forgiveness, and recoil control.
It's an amazing game. And it's only on its beginning. Masterpiece!
I’ve been playing The Finals since day 1. I love the game but I can’t play it casually anymore, I have to be sweaty to at least win a game. Trying to get my friends to play it, most of the time they just quit cause they don’t understand it or the matches are just very unfair for them. Also solo play sucks cause my team keeps leaving if they die or we didn’t get the cash out first.
finally a fresh take
Thank you!
I have 9 hours playtime in this game, still a beginner and only play Quickcash because i'm casual player and not ready to play Cashout yet
I've tried other shooter titles like Valorant or Apex Legends, but none of these game stick to me or made me play everyday, The Finals is game that I'm sure I would commit for years to come
it's just too fun, the destruction is amazing, cosmetics is quality goods with consumer friendly monetization, the graphic is really good (I don't realize this game built on UE5), but it's quite lightweight to play on my low-mid system,
I hope Embark keep fix some issues and this game get the spotlight it deserve
love the crosshair
Nice video. Well said!
I left rainbow six siege to play the finals and there’s 0 remorse for that decision
Love to hear it!
as for overwatch, i came from that game. the finals welcomed me gracefully. i hope the 6v6 tests in season 14 of overwatch 2 fail, i think that will open a window for the finals. same w season 5.
Personally i really wish they added tdm, there not being a tdm mode is whats stopping my friends from playing this game. sadly the playerbase doesn't seem to want that so the finals will miss out and never reach its potential player counts and hype.
TDM I think is becoming more and more of a necessity it'll provide a bridge of similarity for those new players to understand the mechanics before gradually moving to cashout.
they addin tdm in the near future
This game is massively underrated I would even go so far to say that The Finals is the best competitive FPS out there right now.
At this point, even if Embark somohow fucks it up, I will still love the game, their efforts are showing
Im on the same boat lol
I dont want The Finals to try to compete with the top games since many other games had tried and most of them had failed. I am comfortable if it focuses on its playerbase while opening up to new players
Honestly, I thought the game would've picked up in popularity due to bigger youtubers playing the game in the last month or so. I remember seeing Jackfrags, levelcap and even aztecross getting the finals experience. However, even if that weren't the case, the game itself is far from dying and hopefully has a long life-span ahead of itself. Anyways, how about a flamethrower buff?
Said it better than I could
Reddit is often exaggerated many issues and not limited to the finals. This is probably the closest thing to gatekeeping new players to the game. And aiming is not really a gatekeeping factor when comoared to something like fighting game fundamentals (blocking, punishing, notation, etc).
I left reddit for quite sometime now and I really think by letting people trying new stuffs first handedly without any influence by others opinions usually do more good than harm.
took embark less than 24 hrs to look at the clip i submitted and ban the guy that feeling is amazing
3:19 overwatch? lol
Faced you today in world tour I remember your name turbo granny
So real, didnt want to play this game while i was playing cod, stop playing cod immediately came to this game
What I understood from this video is what I've been saying for so long. And that Is the Model needs a damage nerf. Thanks.
I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve seen a medium using light abilities and I wouldn’t consider an esports player an athlete based on the definition of athlete and personally I just don’t think the developers know wtf they’re doing they need to play the game and find out for themselves but they won’t
