Here's an advice from someone who has been through this : warm the itching area through any way EXCEPT ARTIFICIAL HEAT, do not depend mainly on hot water, try wearing socks and putting your feet under the blanket until it warms, it may itch at the beginning, but trust me, after warming it, it will relive the itching, hopefully it helps and feel free to ask about anything.
I have been suffering from this condition for four years now. It starts in winter and even as i write, my toes and fingers are in constant agony. I havent used any kind of drugs, please tell about some non-prescription drugs i can use.
I started getting issues after I got a cold (possibly Covid) in 2022. If the temperature goes below 14C randomly my fingers swell or patches of skin on my fingers come up like you have had an insect bite. The swelling lasts for 1-2 weeks, if it's just a small area 1 week. I can be in the cold for literally 3 minutes and boom a patch of skin on random fingers swells up. If I don't wear two pairs of socks when I got outside in temperatures below ~10C my toes and the back of my heel swells up (probably because they get the coldest from touching the edge of the shoes), that is seriously painful makes it so you can't walk properly or at all. I just end up having to power through the pain, after 5 minutes of walking you get used to it and it starts not to hurt anymore. Probably not recommended though because It also starts to bruise. On top of that I also have something that makes the tips of some of my finger go numb, my fingers go visibly whiter like it has restricted blood flow, but only in a couple of fingers and it's on both hands at the same time, makes zero sense, no other area just the fingers. It's utterly random when it happens as well, not dependent on temperature. I'm pretty sure it's one of these conditions caused by a virus, I have no other explanation. I don't fall into the categories of being more susceptible. It really sucks because I don't even feel cold when I get it, when you start to feel a lump under the skin you know you are gonna be in a world of pain for at least a week.
Mine started after I got covid in 2022 as well. I've found a shot of ginger with lemon juice, turmeric, cinnamon, sprinkle of clove and cayenne pepper twice a day has helped reduce the inflammation when a spot appears, it doesn't get quite as bad. The other condition you're experiencing is Reynaud's syndrome, where blood circulation in the fingers is constricted and the finger goes white and numb.
hey thank you for writing this down. I ve got a similar experience with the swelling on the feet (heels, toes, and the sides) that I would just power through the pain for walking but then I got bruises for the entire winter time :( Doctor prescribed me nifedipine and it helped during the episode but months were gone and now triggered again just because of the cold/hot water alternate as I'm doing tap water/boiler testing in my house, and it's summer, so it's unrelated to the outside weather. It's the water. Don't know what to do to relieve the symptoms normally, but at least now I'm not panicking and now protecting my fingers even more.
I live in central Canada, and get this on a couple of my toes every winter throughout the season. It is the absolute worst. Often can be so painful as my toes swell up just like a blister that needs to be popped, I end up having to walk with a slight limp due to the pain and discomfort. No solution yet. It’s the worst
I Got This And Used A Tea Tree And Witch hazel Cream It Really Helped Also Taking Off Wet Shoes As Soon As Possible And Wear Clean Socks Slippers❤ Hope This Helps
My first chilblains on my fingers started last winter after i got to a normal weight earlier the same year (2023) and went outside more, i assume this happened because i now have less fat protecting my fingers and knowing i also have poor blood circulation in my hands and feet in general, its just pure hell to warm them up without using any aid to prevent even more from appearing, even at night in bed my hands are ice cold and just using the heat from my thighs seems to create more of them My first ever chilblain also was one on my index finger knuckle, which for some reason first was like a small pink bump, but then became bigger and bigger until my whole finger was swollen and i couldn't even bend it anymore, i was worried it would explode and the doctor just said its probably a small bruise, but after that first chilblain, i kept getting normal chilblains and they only seized once the weather got above 15 C again, before that I've never had anything like it before, but you gotta take note im half Brazilian from my mother's side, and despite having been flown to the Netherlands when i was just a baby, its very much possible my dna is just simply designed to survive in warmer climates, because even in summer whilst sporting, whichever arm or limb i dont use (like with badminton) remains ice cold, even club members always are surprised when touching me and they are boiling hot 🤣🥲
I get swere chillblains on my toes and i cry whole night. My doctor advised me to use GTN forte which makes it better when i apply it but still i wish i can get rid of it permanently. I am still suffering from it right now and I'm crying while typing. I wish there was some treatment which can heal it permanently and quickly. I wish i never get chillblains again.
Advice from someone who has been suffering from four years, try staying away from heat and when i say heat, i mean any artificial source of direct heat. Including: stoves, heaters, radiators. Try warming the affected area gently with steam. And my intention is not to distraught you but trustme it gets worse.
We use rubbing alcohol on cotton pads every am and every night. The less time I wear socks the better to let feet breathe. If really bad we soak feet in cheap vodka for 5 to 10 mins no longer.
me too. but I know the Lord Jesus can heal me. H e can help you too. He sees your struggle and pain and He wants to help you. Call on HIM for healing in faith. He loves you so so much. May He heal us all💗
never expose your skin to a heat source, especially if youve got cold feet after going outside. Buy some thick nordic socks. I also think the recent 2 winters i did NOT get them must have been due to me sea swimming up til November and benefitting my vascular health this way - i think im gonna do the sea swimming again later this year to see if i dont get them next winter
It’s because of sedentary lifestyle. People did little to no outdoor activities. Causing less flow of blood. Consequently, increasing the viscosity of blood and leading to pernio.
My problems have lasted for almost 2months now. I'm not a smoker but as im swedish i use Snus, which i suspect is just as bad in this case. My fingers often get pail and my finger nails blue, however, its my toes that have chilblains. In my case i should probably quit the Snus 😢
It’s not a surprise. In fact I think it should be more common for people living far in the north. I live in a tropical region where the temperature gets as high as 50°C in the summer and as low as 0°C in the winter with endless foggy days which last for 1-2 months and no sunlight. I guess you can relate considering at the poles you barely see sun in the winters. Word of advice: I think it’s not mostly because of climate/weather, I think it depends upon your diet. Ever considered quitting coffee/ tea? Or anything that contains caffeine or anything that can increase the viscosity of your blood? It can include from calcium to sodium ions, which are directly or indirectly involved in our diet. I think it’s more influenced by our diet rather than lifestyle.
Solution: 1. Do not wash your feet with hot water, as it increases itching. Wash them with normal water. 2. This problem occurs when your feet are too cold and suddenly start heating up, causing an imbalance in your blood temperature. This leads to itching and swelling in the feet. 3. Solution: Medicines do not work in this situation. Please buy a blower heater. Every night before sleeping, use it to heat your blanket and your feet. Make sure it’s not too hot. If it gets too hot, turn off the blower heater. 4. Never heat your feet with fire or a direct heater, as it also imbalances your blood temperature and causes swelling in your fingers. Use an air blower heater!
People say not to use warm water it makes it worse i put nearly scalding hot water when i shower the feelign is like nothi g i can describe the relued it brings it will bring me relief for as much as 8 hrs nothing topical really helps all i kniw is this shit sucks the itching can be unbearable and it makes me feel like burning my feet off..im not saying for everyo e to try the scalding water be carefull start warm and work way up to what the hottest you can get and comfortable to you i can withstand temps i couldnt any other time or area it cancels out itch immediately ive read about hot water and the feelign some describe it as orgasmic all i know is it feels amazing its un describable for me so relieving works on athletes foot mosquito bites and sunburn when it is in itchy stage i dont kniw if it truly helps this or if it actually cutes or makes it leave quicker but it does relieve the unbearable itch for me
From southeast asia to korea for working... suddenly suffer this from winter. I doubt myself, is it diabetic. I used to spraying my toes with medicine but nothing work.
@@User-m3m8q this is exactly what I’m talking about. People think just because we live in tropical regions, we don’t feel cold or somehow we are immune to it. Like BOY- we are more prone and sensitive to it. So we developing such conditions are completely justifiable. Speaking of which Luckily the foggy days subdued and the sun finally came out last week.
I was reduced to tears today because of chillblaines on both hands and feet. The pain and itching was just out of control. I'm subjected to this condition every winter here in South Africa 😅😢

Not sure if you have a diagnosis about the white fingers yet , but I would recommend looking up reynauds phenomenon
