A bit late but do you think it’s better to stay as a duke/count or bump up to kingdom (or maybe empire)? At what point should you stop grabbing land and start playing tall?
From my own experience as long as you make prestige and stay tribal the strategy works. The entire thing hinges on man at arms and raiding though, so maxing out your regiments is vital. Rank gives you more man at arms so moving up to emperor is probably best
Also vassals become a problem because of opinion, they will hate you for holding so much domain. I guess you have to either terrify them or revoke their stupid land
I'm doing this right now in India. 1) Start as infant Norse on Isle of Mann 2) Become adventurer @ 16 3) Hit all the sites as Explorer 4) Take over tribal location in India with way too many VV 5) Profit
this is fine until catholics gets crusades got crushed by the crusade, Fix: become catholic, then a conqueror in the Byzantine empire appeared smoke me with 30k men at arms. ( in my exp Byzantine empire and persians get a lot of conquerors), but you can do something similar but way stronger with norse adventurer. Also going from feudal trying to get as many Men at arms as possible then switching to Administrative you get to keep all the men at arms plus all the men at arms you can get from administrative goverments, which is really broken.
Interesting, I haven’t really played around with admin government yet, I did one Britannia game as a Norse adventurer where I became admin when I united the British isles, but I didn’t really play that game much just looked through the mechanics a bit. Idk anything ab the men at arms with admin governments.
i would rather go orthodox than catholic. i won't have issue with crusades + i don't need to deal with not going in them and the issues that has. you may say you can't get money from the pope and that's true but i see the benefit of avoiding the catholic stuff all together bigger :)
As a console player I’m sorry to pc players this won’t work for you but if you give your custom character all the bad traits EXCEPT the inheritable ones but get Herculean Beautiful and Genius and get a son from the custom character creation not only will you have an absolute chad of a player heir you can also use the decision strengthen bloodline although beware you have to do it on your character not on player heir so basically you start with an op bloodline and also make sure your character is 32 so your heir can be 16 and at the end you should have 399 character points bonus point if you add a prowess for the 400 I thought about gate keeping it because how op it is but I cant
