    “We want so badly for someone to tell us it’s okay or it’s not ok. Having the responsibility to decide for ourselves is like paralyzing...that way if something goes wrong and someone else told me, I can blame it on them. I can shirk responsibility”
    🤯

    • @eddiealexanderthegreat
      @eddiealexanderthegreat 5 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      For some, to decide for themselves is difficult when their taught that the Bible/God has the concrete answer to all of life's critical issues or questions. So in theory they'd think there is an okay or not okay answer. I think one of the bigger issues is laziness, gullibility, and blind faith. Very few ppl want to study to show themselves approved..

    • @BrokeBrother003
      @BrokeBrother003 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nobody else sees the irony in that statement......They spent like 20 minutes telling us if it's ok or not ok......Then tells people they need to take responsibility for making their own decisions.....I mean y'all got a whole podcast (series even) telling people what to think.....Maybe it's just me...

      Ri Child God CREATED sex, therefore it is pleasing in His sight. It is not meant for shame or condemnation, but freedom and pleasure. Which He is not against either. Nowhere in my statement did I say “sin is okay”. Neither was that the narrative that was expressed in this video had you been listening with an open mind. Prayerfully you will have a similar revelation concerning sex and become free in believing God is PRO-sex.

    LOVED THIS!! What’s mommy doing on the ceiling fan 😂😂😂 Anyway... years ago my pastor talked about shame and guilt and I thought I’d share. Shame is of the devil, his way to try to keep you from going to God and confessing your sins and seeking forgiveness. It makes you feel like you’re stuck and too far gone to be saved. While guilt is a good tool to help you recognize your sin and bring you back to the feet of Jesus. I always think about this when I’m feeling ashamed of my sin... I stop and realize the devil is trying to keep from reconciling with God.

    • @LuvKitKatt
      @LuvKitKatt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No guilt is a sin too.. you're mixing guilt with conviction

    • @exquisite921
      @exquisite921 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LuvKitKatt this is PERFECT!! absolutely conviction is real & it’s not always “guilt”. Also masturbation IS a form is sexual immorality contrary to the beliefs of many. Masturbation just as fornication opens you up to demonic spirits and gives spirits access to your body such as : late marriage / no marriage/ divorce/ infidelity (yes it affects all of this) , reproductive issues including miscarriage, sexual dreams with demonic spirits that bind you to spirit spouses, etc… we must be careful how we conduct ourselves. And God CAN deliver you if you seek Him for deliverance. Now, in the marriage bed… be led how you please 🤷🏽‍♀️ but outside of that carries many consequences. Seek God and not man, He will reveal it to you.

    Listen, I 100% enjoy The Love Hour, even when some of the guests are "questionable" to me. This show!!!!! 💞💞💞 To have a sho'nuff believer speak as she did about sex was so refreshing & truly liberating. Read romans 14 the liberty of the law. We put our own conviction on other convictions that are not law. When the Bible is silent we should not place our personal convictions on others. Although in the text it not talking about sex but I can hold true to other things if you feel something is sinful don’t sin against your yourself but don’t put you your personal feeling on other if the Bible is silent on the subjects and those of us who believe other wise should t try and convince someone to sin against themselves. THIS is ministry! God was on display all up and through this. So many times I kept saying, “Mmmm, say that again!” So grateful for each of you coming together with all of these individual experiences and personal testimonies and perspectives, so refreshing! Especially as a believer I am stuck replaying this over and over and over because it feels like someone just took a flashlight and journeyed into the dark, uncertain areas of my heart and mind concerning sex and illuminated so many parts of my thinking that hadn’t ever before been challenged or clarified. You two are right in the vein of truth with this. Awesome guest, she spoke so carefully but also powerfully about how people view certain things and gave so much insight about sexual individuality while also demasking how we can sometimes allow various outside influences to dictate our personal sexual viewpoints, freedoms, & choices. Whew! This just keeps getting better and better 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

    Erica did a great job. It's not easy representing God in these kinds of environments but she did great, while not being judgemental. But in this day, it seems like no matter what she said, she would be criticized. If Erica went and said, yes it it wrong, everyone would be on her back about it. Now she said, it's between that person and God, and folks still are mad at her! Thank God, He is the only one that matters in the end !! Stay encouraged Erica !!

    I love the discussion here! Some very good topics of discussion because people who grow up in church definitely have a challenging time being intimate with their spouse once they do get married. Thank you for debunking these truths. This has been a major concern and point of shame in a sense in my marriage, and its good to know there are ways to successfully move past those teachings as long as we do it together, in love, and being considerate of one anothers comfortabilities until we become completely open and free from shame in these areas.

    Loved this. When you're truly in tune with God's spirit, what He tells you is the same thing He'll tell anyone else about any situation. He isn't the author of confusion. Just as in the old testament, all of the prophets had the same revelation from God. Each individual's experience is what made them all unique.

    I loved this episode! Christians can rarely have an honest conversation about sex. I think that it's awesome to let people know that some of the church folks you're following are doing some of the things they told you NOT to do. I heard TD Jakes say once that since the bible doesn't speak on masterbation, that he wasn't going to talk about it. Not sure if that's still the case with him. I also heard Juanita Bynum say that in order to masterbate, your mind has to go to certain places when you're supposed to keep your mind on 'things that are lovely, things that are pure', etc. Bottomline is it's a personal choice and it's between you and God. That's it. Thank you for your ministry!!!

    Sex is right and good within the confines of marriage. However, porn is clearly wrong and evil. It boils down to lusting for people we are not married to. Its not a preference, its a sin.

      Vakavaka Boomshakalakalaka “... lusting for people we are not married to.” I think he’s talking about a different type of porn in this case.
      You also sound dishonest. I’m sure you know what context he was referring to regarding porn. You act like people who watch porn are married people watching their own content.

    This is good stuff y’all!!!! I love healthy, analytical, fact-full discussions!! However, I want to point out that the role of the five fold ministry “Pastors, Teachers, Prophets, Apostles, Evangelist” are ordained by God to edify the body of Christ, period!!! So for the people in the back...I think we gotta be a tad bit careful that they don’t misunderstand or misinterpret these ministry gifts importance! They are necessary and shouldn’t be diminished or negated in anyway!!!! Our same bible has multiple examples of how we should be taught and the way it should be done. At the end of the day, saints we gotta read our bibles for everything, about everything, Period, Pooh. And we also gotta be in a place of good teaching and yet mature to a level that sometimes the folks over us will say stuff that ain’t right but they aren’t exempt from error! But the Holy Ghost on the inside of us is our teacher (and much more) and will help us...let’s not fail to forgot His very important role in navigating this walk!! I just don’t want us to think we should navigate this walk alone because stupid stuff since eternity has been said over the pulpit.

    Let me tell you how this podcast topic was EVERYTHING for me!!! Growing up in the church, I’ve found that there are a lot of “no-no” conversations and topics. Sex being one of them. I have evolved so much. And this podcast highlights A LOT of what I have been thinking. So glad a believer decided to minister to the people in this manner. Because like y’all said, all ministry doesn’t have to look the same.

    Here's what I get from the Bible, old testament seed spilling aside, all New Testament.
    1 Corinthians 7:3-8
    Reiterates that we are made man for woman. That our body is not our own, that we belong to our spouse. Therefore it is our spouses duty to please us, not ours.
    1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
    Tells us to posses our vessel in sanctification and honour and to not give into lust as people that don't know God.
    Matthew 5:28
    Tells us if we so much as look/think on another to lust after, we have committed adultery in our heart.
    If we are depending on ourself to meet our needs, then we are not trusting in God to meet our needs. I say this as a man that sins, we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. I know it gets hard, especially when our spouse is upset and holding out, just this year I slipped up in this department and had to repent. But we must put our trust in God and trust that he can calm those urges and sustain us.
