I saw him playing live with Boston a little over a decade ago, during the solo in Foreplay/Long Time, he tripped over a monitor, full flip, and immediately got back up, dude didn't miss a single note.
Agreed. Mike's fretboard skills are equal to Oz's which are impressive to say the least. Either easily blows away any regular 90's onward guitarist (save the elite guys like "John 5" or "Buckethead" - (neither of whom are actually human lol) thus you cannot compare regular metal guitarists to such elite players. Still with that said, Mike & Oz are well respected shredders and could easily hold their own with metal gods like Mike Denner & Hank Shermann from "Mercyful Fate", or Andy LaRocqe & Mike Wead from "King Diamond", or even the legendary duo of KK Downing & Glenn Tipton from "Judas Priest" all of whom are highly skilled shredders in metal.
I remember walking into my local Christian book store looking for the latest Petra tape. When the yellow and black took a hold of me. Now I'm a iced earth fan \m/
It’s true! Check out interviews with the band…they have tons of fans that are Christians, atheists, satanists, etc…pretty wild all the fans Stryper has. Deservedly so, amazing musicians
And I do. Love Slayer. Love Dimmu Borgir. I absolutely dig old Stryper though. Great music, great message. Hell, I was raised as a good Christian boy. I know what’s up. Good will always win in the end.
If these dudes didn’t stick to their guns they could’ve been the biggest fuckin band on the planet, and thank god they stuck to their guns fuckin awesome
Their lyrics are NOT silly. You've been confronted with the Truth about Eternity and you're scared. I would be, too. A life without Jesus Christ is scary all day... I would like to pray for you. Take heart. Life offers you options. Please choose wisely. Romans 15:13
Saw this tour in a beautiful playhouse type theatre ( complete with balcony) downtown San Diego Maan, what a show! The place is long gone, protesting downtown, but Stryper is still rocking and making new music! Love these guys..
How many people agree that Michael Sweet is one of the most underrated guitar players ever!!?
He's an underrated vocalist too, and his voice has held up pretty well over time.

👍👌💯
You got my Fuckin vote! Saw’em in 85’ and 86’ in Phx. Absolutely beautiful ballads, and shreddin rock n roll.🇺🇸

Japan always has the best metal shows recorded live

There will never ever be a better band or.more iconic Christian metal band than stryper
This band rocks so hard, even an atheist could enjoy them. Btw, Oz's solo is super tasty
It’s true! Check out interviews with the band…they have tons of fans that are Christians, atheists, satanists, etc…pretty wild all the fans Stryper has. Deservedly so, amazing musicians

They were truly great in live the chorus got a soul type of harmony. My fave song from them
Thank God...stryper is the best heavy metal christian to ever live...🙏🤘🤘🤘
In '85 I found this album so awesome, good sound, and of course good lyrics.
Que añoranzas, esta cancion me teletransporta a mis años dorados.
Gracias Stryper.
TREMENDA banda ¡¡¡ stryper
Espectacular! 🇨🇱
Rock n roll soldiers under command
If only Tim's bass were just a little louder because he plays so well in this album. Also, awesome retake on the solos!

ギター弾きながら、この高音は、真似できない・・・
自分を信じて出来るはずだよ
3:28 Oz misses the harmonic squeal lol
A lot of Iron Maiden influence in the guitar rhythms and guitar harmonies, which tells me they listened to Maiden before they were converted.
You noticed too!!
Why does it have to be BEFORE being converted? And why does anyone need to be converted to have certain beliefs? No one I know has been “converted”.
Stryper- The Trooper [Iron Maiden Cover]
They did an entire album covering songs and bands that influenced them the most and Iron Maiden’s The Trooper was on there.
Only Stryper influence. They aren't trying to copy anyone.
I got view number 777 !(first)
Josh Blake, Joe Bravo, Johnny Hearts, Egg Roll and Bonehead sent me here #EXIT #SHEEPSHEADBAY

The stryper good bye!!!
If these dudes didn’t stick to their guns they could’ve been the biggest fuckin band on the planet, and thank god they stuck to their guns fuckin awesome
God was like, you will be my soldiers of metal and they heeded the call. It's very inspiring.
They are still as good as this show
Well done
Bye
Yeah i Like it but Soldiers under
Command
Forget their silly lyrics, these guys could play!!!

@@rhettstuart2523 Amen!!!!!!!! Nothing silly singing about God's power!!!!!
What's so silly about it? Bands that sing about satan and un-godly things are just a different side of the same coin.
Silly is to sing for Satan and negative things. To hell with demonic metal and all these shit. Stryper rules!!
Honestly, if church had bands such as Stryper and Theocracy playing I'd never miss a service.
Good night? Hopefully never,
a lot of work to do to clean up "FUKUSHIMA"❗
Still 46 comments too YT.
Does anybody know when this is?
It was in 1985 !
