Wait a second… if it is men bathroom why is there a picture of a chick on the wall??? Or is it man… I can‘t tell… I hate our time, everything is unclear now
My simple theory for Rick was that his biggest fear is losing morty so if he jumped in with morty he wouldn’t be able to come out with him which is probably why he mentions it when morty finally escapes. He said their fears might accidentally cross or contradict eachother so it wouldn’t be safe for them both to be in there. After all the Rick morty imagined in the hole only wanted to leave because he didn’t want morty to die. Even willing to give up fake Diane for him. So I think even morty knows how much he means to Rick.
You didn't like episode 5? That felt like it should have been a series finale or something it was so epic. I thought this one was kind of weak as a finale because it was just a self contained episode that pulled a hacky it was all just a dream resolution.

My first video of season 7. Right away I notice a difference. Morty is almost perfect but rick seems to be noticeably off but acceptable. Like the rick voice doesn’t persist at high and low voice volumes. Looks like a good ep though !

Imagine they never reference the joke again until the post credits scene in the final episode reveals they never left. Deff something they would do. Dan Harmon almost ended Community (they didn’t know if it would continue after season five) with all the characters dying in a meteor strike just for the irony of it.
They reference the idea in-universe in such a way that that almost certainly won’t be the case. Also it’s pretty clear-cut revealed that Rick never went in the hole at all, so if morty never really left the hole then that would pretty much ruin anything they do with any other character past this point

Maggots suddenly coming out of your eye and it doesn’t even hurt, but they keep on coming starting from there and then from more and more places isn’t scary.
