This is by far THE BEST video I've seen on this EGO mower! You demonstrated every feature, and then showed its cut quality - in wet grass. Incredible job, thank you. 💯💯💯
I bought this mower a few months ago and absolutely LOVE it! I mow about 8 lawns per day and it has been the best mower I have ever owned! I have zero complaints with it. And it handles thick St. Augustine grass here in Tampa Florida! I definitely recommend this mower to anyone!
Bradley, With Hayes's review and your comments, I have decided to purchase this mower. I live in Manatee Co and will be cutting my lawn and my two older neighbors, and this looks to be perfect for the job. I have the Ego push mower, but not going to do 3 lawns with that. Thanks
I live in Texas, it's very hot here so I mow at the highest setting on my EGO (4 inches) so my grass can help shade the roots of my grass and it stays lush, great mower.
This is an extremely thorough and useful video. I ordered one of these mowers two days ago, and I am very anxious to receive it and use it. I already have an Ego push-mower, as well as a chainsaw. I am not an anti-internal combustion engine advocate, but this machine will save me many trips to purchase gas (or petrol, as our brethren say in the Mother Country), which will consequently save much time. The irony of the situation appears to be, however, that the mower's high speed will reduce the enjoyable time spent using it! Best wishes (and thanks) from New Jersey, here in The States!
Really pleased you liked the video. I’m still in awe of this mower. We have another video about it coming soon. Slightly different than the last. Make sure you are subscribed, it will be worth it haha.
I told you it was the king of zero turns I've been following all the review videos on it and there all agree it's a game changer it's almost unfair on the poor competition but we'll just have to wait and see how they do 🤣😂🤣😂😁
Bought one of these last spring-very pleased!Just have to get used to driving with the levers as opposed to a steering wheel.I am in North Carolina.Bought my mower from Lowes Home Center-they are an Ego dealer.
I literally just got this delivered to my home in u.s. Never driven any riding mower without steering. I have about an 1 hour 15 mins on it, I think I've got the hang of it pretty quick. I live on an acre of land. I have a decent C shaped gravel drive, some steep slopes, lots of obstacles, so lots of variation. I mowed it all in 45 mins first try. Did a relatively low cut, in varying types of grass including just a patch that was over 4 ft tall, it doesn't stop & if you keep blade setting too low it will automatically but temporarily boost speeds when it detects thicker grass... I guess if you here it rev up you should increase the base speed for the entire mow unless you know it was just an area that was abnormally wet/thick/tall. I've had a ton of fun driving it so far. I'm hoping my Lowe's store didn't ruin the batteries having them at 15% when I got it. It is important to not over discharge or over charge them. The app works great overall, digital key option, delay headlights, daytime running lights, bright at night to mow. Really quiet for a riding mower, I can talk relatively normal while it is running. You can basically drive as fast as you want to mow. Highly recommend control mode to start. First full charge, 40-45mins to mow my yard battery was about 25%. If I didn't have landscaping & had flat land I suspect outcome would of been better. I think next yr I'll buy another 10ah battery & maybe even 2 of them just to assist with a lower & more balanced charging & discharging load. Obviously a lot of strain on fewer batteries. This thing is fun to drive, I was just laughing while driving because it is ridiculous to have that power & speed, certainly faster than you're prepared for on a small mower. I don't think I'm going to charge it to 100% but I'm also not going to discharge it below 20-25% if I can help it. I think this mower stock with battery capacity is ideally for .75 acre. Not 1-2acres.
Just bought a ego multi tool and blower this year with two 5 amp hour battery and rapid charger, very impressed so far. That mower looks good on that Grass my friend bought one two years ago so far so good he says. But I just think it's a bit pricey for me them battery's are Farley expensive too.
If u push and hold the plus button for blade speed its also turbo mode! I have this mower. I live in upstate NY. I absolutely love it. I mow 2 plus acres of lawn.
Great video! Got the chance to try one the other day and was very surprised. Was brand new so cut was great. Think that main body will be around for a long time as they create different cut widths. I think a 4 wheel drive model would be great for hilly gardens.
Out of interest, how is it when towing attachments? I want to replace my 600cc petrol tractor, which has a similar amount of HP. Will this cope with rollers, trailers, lawn sweepers, etc?
Great video, very likeable guy presenting it, no waffle. Really clear camera work. Well done guys. Would've liked to see how easy or hard it is to clean off the the grass under the mower deck and any other maintenance work. Amy spare parts issues?
Thank you Tarquin. It’s as easy/difficult to clean underneath as any other to be honest. But maintenance wise a lot less to be concerned about than an engine equivalent with belts and pulleys 👍🏼
I just bought this mower and only used it once so far. I need to find out where you can program it to go straight. mine does drift to the right. what page in the manual? need to figure out how to make a zero turn without tearing up the grass. I am already on the control mode and middle speed. I just put my bagger on it too. will see how that does in the future.
I’m afraid we have not got any stock as yet to look in a manual for you. One option you could try is put it in the next speed setting and not push the handles so far to achieve the speed you require. I don’t know if this will work but it’s worth a try. Otherwise have a chat with your dealer and they can advise how to adjust the controls.
You can find "CALIBRATE THE MOWER TRACKING SYSTEM" on page 55. Instructions as follows: (Copy & Pasted from Online Manual) CALIBRATE THE MOWER TRACKING SYSTEM If the mower is not tracking straight, first check the air pressure in both rear wheel tires. If the tire pressures are set to the recommendation in section “CHECKING THE TIRE PRESSURE” in this manual, calibrate the mower tracking system as follows: 1. Insert the battery packs into the battery compartments of the power unit. 2. Set the parking-brake pedal in the braking position. 3. Press the start/stop button briefly and the LCD screen will show “Fuel Gauge” (Fig. 47). 4. Press and hold the driving-mode button and the set button simultaneously for more than 3 seconds to enter the calibration interface. The beeping indicator will sound once and the LCD screen will show the calibration bar with the calibration indicator in the centre position (Fig. 48). 5. When the mower drives to the left, the right wheel of the mower should be calibrated by briefly pressing the driving-speedadjustment button “ ”. Press once, the calibration indicator will move to the right one grid from centre position and keeps flashing (Fig. 49). 6. When the mower drives to the right, the left wheel of the mower should be calibrated by briefly pressing the driving speed adjustment button “ ”. Press once, the calibration indicator will move to the left one grid from centre position and keeps flashing. 7. When the calibration is finished, press the set button to save and quit the calibration interface. The beeping indicator will sound once to indicate that the calibration is saved successfully. Restart the mower to check whether the mower can drive straight. Otherwise, repeat the above steps until the mower is tracking straight. RESETTING THE MOWER TO INITIAL FACTORY SETTING 1. Insert the battery packs into the battery compartments of the power unit. 2. Set the parking-brake pedal in the braking position. 3. Press the start/stop button briefly and the LCD screen will show “Fuel Gauge” (see Fig. 47). 4. Press and hold the LED light button and set button simultaneously for more than 5 seconds, the beeping indicator will sound once time as a reminder and the mower status indicator over the LCD screen will flash ORANGE. Hi, great review. Have you tried mulching with it? I would consider switching from a Husqvarna rider 422 (22hp, 122cm). I don't know how it would compare performance wise, but for that clean, reliable, battery power.....
We haven’t tried mulching with it as yet as when we done the video the mulching plug was not in the country and have not seen any stock as yet. It’s expected in the “spring” and we have already sold several so not sure what will be available next year as yet.
OK, thanks. If by any chance you are able to let me the overall length of it, it would be most appreciated. This info doesn't appear to be available on-line.
Hi Jeff, Yes I think that is totally doable. An adaption on the hand brake with a lever and a couple other easy mods would be very possible. If you are in the U.K. we can certainly help you out with this. Cheers, James
Hi I'm running a totally ego set up for my mowing business apart from my 42inch husqvarna zero turn, and after using them since they first came out I'm now having some problems with reliability issues with the mowers and the batteries. What will ego be offering in the way of backup to a business if you buy this mower and have problems with it
Hi Alex, as an EGO dealer we support are local customers with service back up. The Z6 has not been developed for full time commercial use but more in line with high end domestic 42” machines. All products from all manufacturers can have breakdowns, we are a dealer for 25 different brands and we see breakdowns from them all and generally see 5% of machinery we sell back for warranty, so my advice as always would be to use a local dealer who can offer you full support for the product that you are buying. I hope this helps.
We use our paddock for lots of mower testing, not only demos but also as a dealership we test customers machines to find faults etc, so we don’t cut it all in one go. This mower will cut fine on slopes 👍🏼
Hey Darren, check the vid out at 11.40 I drive it down a 25deg slope and I have to say it’s the easiest stick steer mower I have ever tried on a slope 👍🏼
If you want to see a what this mower will do . check out "Stanley "the dirt monkeys" channel. Mows through ridiculously high wet grass . until he gets stuck. has to pull it out with the winch on his Jeep. great demo for this mower . ego also has an upgraded version to this mower of a 54 inch cut. type " Stanley the dirt monkey" subscribe he pulls no punches on his reviews.

One more lower setting on that deck and it might double as a roto tiller 😄👍👍
Hahaha, some people do like to cut their grass so short over here that they scalp the ground 🤦🏻♂️ some will never learn 😂
Actually, for Zoysia lawns, it would be nice to have it cut lower. But appreciate the good humor just the same.

Yes the standard comes with 15ah’ batteries, one 10Ah and one 5ah. We are able to sell without batteries if required. Options are on our website 👍🏼
How tall is it? 40”-50”? If Under 40” tall, I could fit it in a mini van and not need a trailer.
