Great idea - I've completely replaced diaphragm, solenoid, diaphragm "seat," and also ensured the little tubes are clean. Still, two of my valves are "weeping." I could have a crack in the lid part of the valve. Not sure how that would happen in my warm-weather climate, but will try this solution.

Did it work? These valves are seem to be very low quality. I had one that would not shut off after around around 6 months of use. Tapped on the solenoid with a screwdriver and it started working. Now once again it won't shut off I opened the jar and there is no spring. Guess I'll be making a trip to Lowes and hoping they sell just the spring. Pretty disappointed with the quality.

I have three Orbit Jar Top valves on my system. Recently, we had one that we can't get to turn off. It's not a weeping leak, the sprinkler actually functions as if the zone were turned on. I swapped hardware between the failing one and one of the working ones. Solenoid was fine, manual on/off mechanism was fine, diaphragm was fine. Nothing changed until I swapped lid assemblies. As far as I can see, The only parts are the lid, a small black bushing inside the center hole that seals around the feed line, and the spring. I've compared the failing one to a good one and can't tell any visual difference. Is there anything on the lid assembly itself, or the outside nut, that could be causing it.

Hi, the video is helpful, but I can take the lid off,is there any openers for it?

You should make a video showing all the different available anti-siphon valves, different options between them, why you would want one as opposed to the other, and another video on installing the valve using the various manifold accessories that will make it easier to replace a valve in the future should it go bad. Come on!

I had the little metal pin that sits in the base come out when took the assembly apart (I grabbed it with pliers, thinking it was part of the diaphragm). I can insert it back in with pliers, but need to know how how much it needs to extend up from base, so that it will properly seat with the lid. Currently, I inserted it all of the way into base and valve stays on even after replacing diaphragm.

If I remove the inside guts / diaphragm etc, will the solenoid be permanently open then ?

I have an old orbit watermaster timer. All my station come on except for the 1st station. I have to go to the outside inground box and turn the screw. then it will come on but not by the timer. All wires get current on the timer. What else can I try to get station 1 to come on by automatic timer cycle? Even pushing the slider all the up and back down to 2 minutes will not turn station one on. That method works for all the other stations. Any ideas?

I suppose it is the anti siphon side of mine that is leaking. Can you take that apart and fix it to avoid cutting off the entire valve and ruining my manifold?

It would really depend on which parts needs replacing. The internals are all usually replaceable, but if the housing itself is the source of the problem then it would need to be replaced.

No teflon tape on jar cap threads?

certainly you could do that if desired, but these do not come from the factory with tape and our extensive testing does not indicate it is necessary.
