Wait so Tea moves to New York and meets up with her friend for coffee for an extended period time every day despite her busy work schedule? Geez Tea made so many friendship speeches her life became Friends!
Triston and his security team uncovering an assassination plot against Seto Kaiba would be interesting. I could also see someone like Bandit Keith return to try and challenge a now pro Joey Wheeler and Tristan has to stop some sort of sabotage at the event before it begins or even during the middle of the duel so Joey can focus on winning. You could have it be in a big stadium and while Joey and Bandit are dueling above, Tristan is engaged in a shootout underneath the stadium against would-be people trying to sabotage the duel by any means.
He had a sister and nephew. I actually feel she was a nurse or in medical school..I'm pretty sure they told us when Tristin explained why he was at Kiabaland babysitting his bratty nephew for her while she was busy.
Tristan has a fully decked out Cyber Commando themed deck, rocking out a Cyber Stein and a bunch of Fusion monsters based on robotic soldiers and artillery. Maybe even throw in some Battleguard monsters in Main and Extra as it's the representation of their friendship. Now for Tea.... She probably just ends up terrorizing Duel Links.
Yesss! So glad you mentioned this repeated aspect of his character that gets so unfortunately overlooked. There is also the aspect that he and Joey were prominent gang members in primary shcool and they're gang along with its successor leader made more than one attempt to bring them back in at the threat of Yugi and Tea's life. There was even a stand out moment for Tristin where he realizes Joey went missing for several days. He leads Yugi on a bit of a crusade to find Joey as he is worried and feels Yugi should know. We get a first look at Joey's crappy home life when they go to his apartment and his drunkard dad immediatly throws a bottle at them thinking it's Joey. Tristin's lightning reflexes save them as he slams the door in time but they hear Joey's dad demanded to know where Joey has been the last few days and relize he hasn't been home. Tristin suspects the gang and thus takes Yugi to their headquarters in a basement flat of a crappy neighborhood building. He tells Yugi he is going in but it is far too dangerous for him. He gives the instruction to wait for 5 minutes and if Tristin does not come up in that time to assume Joey was taken by the mob but forget the both of them. Tristin makes it clear the cops won't be of any help and this is pretty much a suicide mission if Joey IS down there but he can't let his friend face whatever they are doing to him alone (they already had an altercation where their rejection to rejoin REALLY insulted the psycho and ex rival that inherited the gang, taking things up a serious notch in their crime.) Of course Yugi ignores Tristin and goes in when he doesn't came back up. Yugi finds Joey acting like part of the mob to Tiistin'sdisheartened. Of course Joey was being threatened with Yugi and Tea's lives but he helps the two realize they wouldn't want Joey to have to do this for them and Yugi is strong enough to deal with threats of their past by going season 1 psycho Yami on their asses like he did back then. There were a surprising number of stories involving various criminals on the loose and gangs in the early series..multiple intending rapist andpedophiles, a mad bomber at an amusment park, a corrupted TV producer who violated the rights of kids for a story, an escaped murderer who held tea hostage in a burger joint, a punch who stole Yugis arcade coins then tried to stab Joey with a concealed knife, graffiti punks who tried to kill a sickly kid playing superhero for telling them off (yes really), upperclassmen challenging yugis class for homecoming float dominance through air hockey..that was actually played on big outdoor burger grill surfaces with the puck being a block of ice contianing a stolen test tube of nitroglycerin from the science lab (so more a deadly game of cold potato and WHAT FUCKING HIGHSCHOOL KEEPS NITRO GLYCERIN ACCESSABLE!? ) as well as EVERY kaiba was a part of..so much..even kept a real life are murderer as a part hisdeatdeath T park who was a Jason rip off with confirmed teenage bodycount..his butler Hibbing was a war crimiminal who torturing..like..so much and still not covering it all..oh! and Grudge who would make this work amazingly as Tristin's story could cameo him or lead into his on the force in 5ds. Imagine Tristin having to trust and work woth the guy who nearly beat him and Joey to death as kids! Some real potential there!
I'm somewhat surprised you didn't go with making Tea's spinoff a magical girl style show with Miho coming back as a sidekick. Tea has a minor association with Dark Magician Girl and Magician of Faith so there's something to work with there.
0:39, 3:53 "in the dub"? I think you meant to say either "manga" or "sub", friend😅 'Tristan Taylor' and 'Tea Gardner' are the dub names. That said, these are some pretty neat spinoff ideas. Tristan getting to head up a security team is a neat idea, and I could see either a sports anime(clay pigeon shooting) or a detective story working with sharpshooting as the focus. As for Tea, learning different dance styles would be a great way to expand her repertoire as she works her way up to ballet. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for Joey and Grandpa, keep up the good work👍
If we ever got legacy support based on these two, then I would imagine Tristan getting retrains of Super Roboyarou/lady and a full-blown Battleguard archetype (I really wanna see them finally be made into a proper archetype). Tea would get an archetype of either just the ball angels (Petit Angel, Tenderness, Shining Friendship, and Happy Lover) or a combination of them and some other cards that she's known for using across media, like Dark Magician Girl and Fire Sorcerer in the anime, St. Joan in the games (and maybe her fusion components like Darklord Marie and The Forgiving Maiden), Dark Witch and Seiyaryu from Capsule Monsters, etc.
I'm with you on both ideas, but I feel that there could be some sort of archetype of the respective themes that gets both characters into dueling, while also maintaining their spinoffs. This leaves room for more crossover and cameos from the others of the DM era.
They could always give him a show similar to Persona or something. They could also have him investigating things caused by the dark magic of the millennium items that say turned the monsters real, possessed people, and influenced supernatural crimes in the city, and focus on what happens outside of the duals with the main villain, but actually experiencing the things the magic does to people while they are looking for the Pharaoh or cards they want. This would help then add to the stakes of the general show as a background addition by making it dark and traumatizing to average people, so it doesn't seem like its only just a card game alone. Like if the cards had other properties to them when the magic items was active, and did supernatural things outside of dueling simultaneously. Like if the magic was real outside of duals and Tristin had to help people stalked by the rare hunters or monsters, actually being criminals and monsters abducting or killing people.
I think a cool movie or one-off idea would be a remake of the Joey v Grandpa season 5 duel with extended flashbacks of both Joey and Grandpa's lives. Grandpa's series would be coolest as a prequel, but I could see a sequel series focused on Yugi and Joey's friendship post-pharaoh
She beat Joey constantly...she beat Mai only because Mai forfeited...then she beat Crump of the Big 5 because DMG's deckmaster ability summoned DM from Yugi's deck.
For Tea you can also make her be a back up dancer for Miho who could be some sort of aspiring idol where they become friends and Tea helps Miho learn to dance better and in turn Tea learns that she has an interest in singing and the pair gain a goal to become a duo of idols but they still each have their own lives and where Tea can have her competitions and Miho her concerts
The tristan spin off sound great and idea could be in the police is Tetsu Trudge the bully of the original dm have a rivaly and made the connection with 5d´s and how become what is this in synchron era this is s a plus after all is a tristan story and with tea ... i don´t know maybe she fight all the bad guys in the season 0 that try to stopped is dream oh be friend after all no one die in the shadow games oh yugi (looking the manga) almost and someones don´t change after all the spider guy with see in the battle city arc still a dumb , could be a grow up like yugi that she don´t need the faraon and don´t be a damsel in distress (and somehow made punches and kicks like in the pyramid movie ) could be in a next idea mai valantine and a casino games
Naw, I'd stick to gaming and leisure activities for the spin offs. For example, what if Tea really got into The Sims and she's super funny about what she does in game? And since so many people ship her with Yugi anyways, the secondary plot could be their relationship. Tristan looks like he'd be into FPS games.
I personally would have loved a Joeyless yugioh or at least Yugi keeping the Red Eyes Black Dragon. As it much more matches little Yugi. But young Grandpa as Indiana Jones but anime and monsters. Kinda a more anime of Jackie Chan Adventures. As for these two well not a fan of either character even if they are the better Yugi friends. I kinda would give Mokuba a series he's always been a character that feels under used.
I can't say Army deck. More like a machine deck but not machine monsters like Bandit Keith. Think of machine monsters Cyber Commander, something like Gadget Soldier(that ugly ass 1800 attack and 2000 defense level 5 trash) or as such. Maybe switch out his deck into beast warriors like..Swamp battle guard, Lava battle guard, Nin-ken Dog, Chiron the Mage or as such in the future.
What's the point of being a Yugioh spinoff if it has nothing to do with Yugioh. Just create a new complete separate show at that point. For Tea, make her Dance Theme have to do with Duel Monsters, kinda like the Dice Dungeon or the Capsule Monsters. Something like Dance Dance Revolution but with duel monsters, where they have to dance and get the moves right to summon monsters and hit their opponent life points or something. And there you have it, there's the dance moves and dance styles and the action scenes with known monsters. For Tristan... Idk... Maybe something with VR and Duel monsters? Kinda like Laser Tag, with the guns and stuff, and monsters. You can cross it with real life issues like him pursuing a career as a Cop or something.
In the early season Tea was also the target of several attempted manipulated seduction, assults and rapes. She was kind of a damsel a lot where yugi had to save her or show her why she was stupid for falling over the fake charm of the obvious pervert fortune teller creep trying to get into her pants. It would be awesome to see her stumble across one of this monsters again by chance in New York, so far away from her friends but handling herself in their encroaching attempts at her. Hace it built as a suspense where the psycho is giving off the obvious vibes of really dark plans for her so she winds up figuring out what that is defending herself/her new dancing sisters and puts the threat away for good herself. Maybe even a nice cameo where she pulls some strings to have Tristin as the police escort for the signed and sealed crook back to Japan for his trial..maybe with what teeth Tea left him suddenly missing as well. All while she is doing this she also has to deal with the drama of rhe other dancers not taking the creeper seriously and staying competativevin her career pursuits. I think that would fill in nicely and capture a wider range of demographics. It's not just the expected girly drama and sisterhood type story but would focus on the very popular shojo horror/suspence crowd. Seeing her and her friends be under genuine threat not because they are girls but because the criminal IS a depraved criminal who WONT fight fare to anyone, but Tea still make it through close calls to take him out regaurdles of his underhanded tactics..now THAT would be amazing in my eyes. I say most likely drop Miho..she wasn't in the manga and was barely anything in the anime..it would make Tea's situation in New York less impactful. Having her be there all alone but determined to persue her dream agaisnt everything would be a strength. You could have Miho be a gentle bit of commonality to Tea when she feels rough so Tea isn't just perfect without any weaknesses..but I feel giving that role to a new friend would be better since we could see that bond devlope in rela time and grow attached to her. We would basically start from scratch with Miho anyway but have the cop out feel of her hust already being a friend Tea can really on as a stranger in a strange land. Having her bond with someone culturally different from the start iver their commonalities and the kind of shared vulnerabilities they still have would make it a stronger relationship to observe and feel more impactful when Tea is able to thwart the jerk endangering them all. The fish out of water makes friends and ultimatly sticks on land to save those friends through her own strength AND their encouragement.
"I taught Yugi how to play duel monsters"
-Tristan Taylor
This man really just hosted a Poll to choose the least popular answer.
10/10 would vote again.
Tristan putting his vocal-powered super strength to good use
Wait so Tea moves to New York and meets up with her friend for coffee for an extended period time every day despite her busy work schedule? Geez Tea made so many friendship speeches her life became Friends!
Tristans show should have him announce when the sun is about to rise.

0:47 Yeah I forgot Tristan ever played a single game until he was turned into a robot monkey
He also wasn't just a sniping sharp shooter but Quickdraw. Some great sudden shootout scenes for faster action would be very much up his alley.
He had a sister and nephew. I actually feel she was a nurse or in medical school..I'm pretty sure they told us when Tristin explained why he was at Kiabaland babysitting his bratty nephew for her while she was busy.
Dancing isn’t paying the bills and high rent in NYC, so Tea starts working as an exotic dancer at a seedy nightclub. Wacky antics ensue.
Tristan has a fully decked out Cyber Commando themed deck, rocking out a Cyber Stein and a bunch of Fusion monsters based on robotic soldiers and artillery. In a spinoff series starring Tristan, his voice would give him super-strength.

Tristan doesn't need a spin-off since he reincarnated into Yusei in 5D's
"In the future, card games will be played on motorbikes!"
Simple have Tea follow Yuya and make her a dueling entertainer
Hope it would work out better than her successors four and five series hence.
If the rumored reboot is a thing, I hope Tèa and Tristan duel more
